When this sound emerged, everyone’s faces changed. The two Mountain Anchors, which were clearly about to move away, suddenly paused. Their ferocious heads turned toward them, and then, with their six legs moving in unison, they charged silently forward!

They had been breeding in this underground palace for generations, honing even more sensitive senses in the dark environment. In such a quiet place, any unusual sound meant either food or an enemy.

"Damn it!" Boss Kun cursed softly and urgently. The enemy was too close to them; it was impossible to abandon someone like Xu Ding’er to sacrifice for the greater good again. "Fourth, you take over."

Their battle not only needed to be swift but also as silent as possible. Otherwise, it would attract more enemies in the perilous underground palace, and large-scale magic like fire or thunder couldn’t be used. The one called "Fourth" was a middle-aged man, with a thin face and three wisps of mustache under his chin. In a Daoist robe, he might still have a somewhat immortal appearance, but in his tight black outfit, he only appeared emaciated and small. He didn’t shirk at being named, and swiftly chanted twice, throwing out two yellow paper talismans, shouting, "Come!"

The two fluttering pieces of paper landed on the ground, instantly transforming into two Green Cloth Warriors, towering over ten feet tall, with fierce eyes and tiger-like beards, their bodies rippling with muscles, appearing quite formidable. Yet, their eyes were dull, showing that these summoned warriors were not of high realm. Ning Xiaoxian had seen such beings in Rock City, but "Fourth" seemed more practiced than Master Fan from the Rock City Lord’s Mansion, perhaps due to a focus on specialized skills.

Somehow, Ning suddenly remembered the small Viper that Huangfuming had once summoned. That snake’s eyes were cold and ruthless, clearly possessing spirit, incomparable to Fourth’s summoned warriors, likely far beyond them in power.

The appearance of these two Green Cloth Warriors brought a sigh of relief to everyone. They took bold steps forward, delivering powerful punches to the charging Mountain Anchors. Against cultivators, these warriors would be of little use, as cultivators wouldn’t foolishly stand still for an attack. But the Mountain Anchors, relying on their robust speed, thrilled by the charge of these unrecognized prey, opened their giant mouths to bite.

Ordinary people would lose half their body to such a bite.

Their upper jaws were extremely hard, suited for chewing, but their lower jaws, like most animals, were fragile. Controlled by "Fourth," the warriors accurately delivered an uppercut to their chins, causing both creatures to let out a painful hiss. Yet, both were as large as horses, and the impact forced the two warriors to retreat two steps.

The Mountain Anchors were evidently somewhat concussed by the blows. Even while controlling the two warriors, "Fourth" could still chant other spells and threw out two more paper talismans. These summoned two short, strange creatures, not even reaching waist height, yet they moved nimbly and swiftly, claws carrying five fingers like a human, gripping slender swords.

Ning Xiaoxian understood that this time, the paper talismans summoned Cat Mongoose Demons. These beings existed within the Hidden Stream, and two of Rose Hall’s top ten assassins were Cat Mongoose Demons. No doubt "Fourth," with vast experience, recognized that although the Mountain Anchors were strong and powerful, their bodies were stilted by three feet on each side, making turning difficult, hence summoning these agile creatures for a decisive strike.

As soon as the Cat Mongoose Demons appeared, they turned into shadows, swiftly diving under one of the Mountain Anchors’ bellies. One mongoose thrust its slender sword upward, targeting the Mountain Anchor’s belly, while the other swung at the long legs. These ant-like creatures seemed fierce but had jointed legs, likely vulnerable at the joints, crippling them if damaged.

"Ding," "ding," two light sounds echoed, changing Fourth’s expression.

He was experienced in battle, and the attack seemed flawless, except he underestimated one thing — the resilience of creatures within the underground palace.

The Cat Mongoose Demons’ weapons indeed struck the Mountain Anchors, and sparks flew from the friction between the thrusting swords and the Mountain Anchor’s shell in the darkness. Unfortunately, the monsters merely hissed in pain again, retreated two steps, and lunged to bite the nuisances beneath them! Steeped in evil qi for too long, their genes had mutated countless times, rendering their exoskeletons incredibly tough. The mongoose demons’ slender swords couldn’t penetrate, not even scratching the Mountain Anchors’ belly skin!

Thankfully, there were two warriors in front, and others quickly joined the fight. To deal with such monsters, fire attacks were ideal, but they had prepared before entering the palace. Just then, a man of medium stature rapidly chanted a mantra. Hearing the incantation, Ning Xiaoxian’s eyebrows arched slightly. The spell was very similar to the Earth Sinking Skill used by cultivators.

Sure enough, as soon as he finished speaking, the ground beneath the two Mountain Anchors suddenly softened into something like a mire. Growing to such massive sizes, their weight was no less than that of horses, unable to easily move under the pressure of the warriors. In just the matter of a few breaths, they sank into the muddy ground, their twelve legs firmly trapped and immobile.

Aside from snakes and pythons, no creature without legs poses much threat, to everyone’s delight. At this point, one of the Mountain Anchors shook its head, opened its mouth toward the warrior, and suddenly shot a stream of green adhesive from its maw, covering the Green Cloth Warrior.
