Hearing what Gai Xiaolian said, Lin Fei was a bit confused. There was another passage? Wasn’t this place just a single golden pillar? What other passage could there be? Lin Fei really couldn’t wrap his head around it.

"You’ll know in a moment. Just follow me." Gai Xiaolian said, and Lin Fei could only nod, then follow behind her to the center area of the golden pillar. Lin Fei finally noticed something different—there was actually a platform appearing in the very center of the golden pillar. Lin Fei really had no idea how this place worked.

And on top of the stone platform, sure enough, there was a keyhole. Lin Fei watched as Gai Xiaolian inserted the key into it, and immediately saw the platform actually open up on its own, revealing a huge hole.

"You, jump down first." Gai Xiaolian said.

Hearing that, Lin Fei froze for a second. "What’s down there? Why do you want me to jump first?" Lin Fei really didn’t want to be some kind of groundhog.

"Do you have a choice?" Gai Xiaolian finished speaking, then kicked him right on the butt, directly booting Lin Fei into the hole.

By now Lin Fei had already gone down, and Gai Xiaolian also moved straight to the edge of the platform and dropped down through the opening...

At this moment, Lin Fei felt like he was on a roller coaster, the track going up and down, left and right. Each section of track had its own set movement pattern, and there was also a timing element to it.

Finally, he sensed that there was actually light ahead. Lin Fei was overjoyed; he had finally reached the end of this passage.

But right after that, Lin Fei realized he’d fallen into a cavern, and this cavern was filled with all kinds of Elemental Stones—there were just too many to count.

"What is this place?" After being shaken back and forth so many times in that passage, Lin Fei just stood there motionless once he hit the ground.

Right then, danger came. Lin Fei just felt something about to fall behind him, and before he could react, a person landed on his neck and pinned him to the ground.

Feeling the vibration under her, Gai Xiaolian glanced downward. No wonder she couldn’t see Lin Fei—turns out he was being squashed underneath her.

"Sorry, sorry."

Gai Xiaolian said, then immediately climbed up, and saw Lin Fei lying on the ground, still dazed there.

He let out a sigh. "You’re something else. But what exactly did you come here for?" Lin Fei got up, looked around, and found that besides Spiritual Energy, there were only a small number of other things here.

"I came down here to get my father’s treasured blade, that’s all." Gai Xiaolian said, giving Lin Fei a brief explanation.

Only then did Lin Fei suddenly get it. He nodded and followed Gai Xiaolian as they walked toward that big blade.

Looking at the big blade in front of him, Lin Fei asked, "Does this blade have any special abilities?"

"What abilities do you want? It doesn’t have any. It’s just a Treasure, that’s all."

"So that’s how it is!" Lin Fei suddenly understood. Looked like he’d been overthinking it, so he didn’t dwell on it anymore.

"Shall we go?" Lin Fei asked.

"Of course. Since we’ve already got what we came for, why wouldn’t we leave? What else do you still want to do?" Gai Xiaolian asked.

"Nothing, nothing." Lin Fei said quickly.

Seeing Lin Fei like this, Gai Xiaolian suddenly laughed, and her smile was very pretty.

"Has no one ever told you that you look really good when you smile?" Lin Fei asked.

Gai Xiaolian shook her head. "You’re the first one to say that. I’m actually not good-looking." She even showed a trace of shyness, leaving Lin Fei a bit stunned.

"You really are very good-looking." Lin Fei said again.

"Alright, I don’t want to hear that anymore. Let’s go." Gai Xiaolian’s expression suddenly turned cold, making Lin Fei freeze for a moment. This woman changed too fast; he couldn’t keep up. But since she’d said they were leaving, Lin Fei didn’t hesitate and immediately followed her steps toward the outside.

"Which way are we getting out?"

This time Lin Fei was a bit puzzled. Climb up? They’d just come down from above—did they really have to climb back up? That’d obviously be a bit difficult, and... the posture wouldn’t be very dignified.

"This way." Gai Xiaolian said, then led Lin Fei toward a passage.

"There’s a passage here? Then why did we have to come in from above just now?" Lin Fei’s face was full of confusion. This... this made no sense!

"This passage is an Array. It only allows entry, not exit, got it? And the place this Array leads to is definitely not somewhere you want to go. It’s also to prevent people from stealing the treasures here." Gai Xiaolian gave a brief explanation.

Only now did Lin Fei understand, but right after that he thought of something else.

"So what you’re saying is, that passage we just went through only lets you in but not out?" Lin Fei asked in surprise.

"Of course. Otherwise, why would they go through so much trouble?" Gai Xiaolian said as if it were obvious.

Lin Fei was speechless. He hadn’t expected it to be like this at all; it really exceeded his expectations.

Following Gai Xiaolian’s steps, Lin Fei walked forward all the way until they finally reached an exit. Sure enough, it was an Array, and the defenses were incredibly tight. Lin Fei hadn’t seen any amazing treasure inside just now, but thinking back, he figured there had to be something really powerful there—after all, there was still one door they hadn’t opened yet.

Anyway, Lin Fei was out now. But right after that, he noticed a flash of light, and they actually appeared inside a prison, with many soldiers guarding the surroundings.

Lin Fei glanced at the setup around them—this was practically flawless!

"Was there some incredible treasure in the place we just came out of?" Lin Fei asked.

This time, however, Gai Xiaolian didn’t answer. She just shook her head and didn’t respond to Lin Fei’s question. Who knew if she couldn’t say it or if there was some other reason.

"Miss, this one is...?" An old man walked over and looked at Lin Fei and Gai Xiaolian inside the cell.

"He’s one of mine. Open the door." Gai Xiaolian said.

"Oh? In that case, let’s do a routine inspection."

The old man spoke, and a few soldiers appeared, walking over to Lin Fei and Gai Xiaolian. After giving Lin Fei a thorough check, they finally nodded.

"Alright, Miss, please head out." The old man said.

After that, Lin Fei followed Gai Xiaolian and left the place.

Lin Fei really hadn’t expected the defenses here to be this strict. It truly went beyond what he had imagined.
