For such people, Lin Fei simply ignored them. He wasn’t going to meddle any more; let them do as they please. Lin Fei wouldn’t be bothered anymore; he couldn’t be bothered anymore.

The scale of the fifth day made the General on the wall feel quite good. At least everyone was willing to strive and fight hard. But today, Lin Fei and Xiaodao didn’t go over. He spoke to the crowd, "You’ve all understood the hunting tasks. I don’t need to tell you more. You might survive; you might die. But if you don’t fight for it, death is certain!"

Hearing Lin Fei’s words, the General on the wall admired Lin Fei greatly. Lin Fei’s perspective was excellent; it wouldn’t hurt for his soldiers to listen to it.

"So, we will no longer protect you. Today, I await your triumphant return. If you fail, you can start over, but I won’t help you. After today, I’m leaving—I have my own affairs and responsibilities, so work hard on your own." Lin Fei spoke.

The villagers showed signs of reluctance, along with worry or fear.

However, one must say, they all have a sense of confidence. Many of them do, and it’s a strong confidence. Lin Fei has just been watching them these past few days, not helping; thus, they’ve cultivated a sense of confidence internally, which means Lin Fei need not worry.

The General on the wall watched Lin Fei, thinking his methods were really good. Initially, they thought Lin Fei was just putting on airs and was the one helping them hunt. But today, it appears Lin Fei is letting go—he was genuinely cultivating the villagers before; now is the time to assess the results.

"Alright, go ahead. Discuss among yourselves how you’ll proceed; I won’t say anything more." After Lin Fei finished speaking, he watched them silently as they disappeared into the forest.

At this moment, Lin Fei suddenly flew up, landing on the wall and speaking, "General, should this matter come to an end?"

The City Guardian General nodded, "It should end, you’ve done very well, I really admire you, but I wonder..."

The City Guardian General evidently admired talent, and Lin Fei’s abilities impressed him; thus, he wanted to recruit Lin Fei.

But Lin Fei shook his head, interrupting the General’s words, "General just heard, I’m actually just passing through. I have my own affairs, my own matters, so I’m afraid I cannot agree to the General’s request."

"I understand, you have your choices, and also your methods, along with your own grand goals. So, I won’t say much more; once they return, let them directly enter the city. These people..." The General glanced toward the corner of the wall at some villagers, about a dozen of them. They still refused to repent, waiting to reap rewards without effort.

Even if they were too hungry to move, they still refused to stand up. Lin Fei looked at them, smiled, and shook his head, "This world is a world where the weak are preyed upon."

"Indeed, what do you plan to do?" The Great General asked. He could see that such people were beyond saving; even if saving were possible, it would likely require a great price, with no guarantee of success.

Lin Fei didn’t speak in response. He turned his gaze, looking at the city by the Forest Border, grand and majestic, where the residents were diligent.

Before long, there seemed to be commotion in the distance—indeed, commotion—and very substantial commotion. The General and City Defense Army looked over to find over a dozen Demon Beasts running toward them, sights set on the dozen people in the wall’s corner, eyes filled with greed and hunger.

The Great General looked at Lin Fei, understanding that there weren’t many Demon Beasts nearby, and such powerful beasts weren’t easily found. It seemed these were indeed Lin Fei’s doing...

Indeed, the Great General’s guess was correct. Lin Fei had Xiaodao drive these beasts over. For those beyond saving, Lin Fei wasn’t a savior; in contrast, Lin Fei thought, if he had the power, he would surely clear out the scum. Yet it must be said, sometimes it really isn’t so easy.

Lin Fei didn’t watch below, but he could hear the screams. Yes, those Demon Beasts directly tore into those people, continuously eating them.

Those lazy ones, being too lazy, some didn’t react in time and had already lost an arm. As they reacted, the pain overtook them completely; they attempted to desperately resist, but ultimately met their end.

There was no choice; Lin Fei didn’t intervene, nor did the Great General. Many of the City Defense Army just watched, albeit some couldn’t bear it, turning their heads away, neither looking nor intervening.

Some of the lazy ones tried desperately to escape, but due to their laziness, they hadn’t exercised regularly, rendering them unable to escape; eventually, they were all devoured by the Demon Beasts.

The bloody area that remained, with a few Demon Beasts still searching, incessantly howling toward Lin Fei and them on the wall.

At that moment, a figure flashed by, and in the blink of an eye, four or five Demon Beasts lay dead, while the remaining beasts, sensing danger, fled promptly—two or three managed to escape, while the rest died right here.

"Xiaodao, throw them into the moat." Lin Fei didn’t want to see these things; when everyone returns later, it would likely cause panic. Moreover, Lin Fei didn’t want them to see human limbs while gutting those Demon Beasts.

Thus, he instructed Xiaodao to toss the Demon Beasts into the moat.

The beasts in the moat tore ferociously, and shortly, the water in the moat’s vicinity turned red, a color dyed by human blood, to which Lin Fei was completely indifferent.

All of this was staged by him, and the Great General, seeing Lin Fei still calm and composed, truly admired Lin Fei. There was no choice, such people will definitely achieve great things in the future, surely intimidating nations, courageous and wise, yet also so heartless and ruthless. That’s correct, possessing such traits, alongside courage and strategy, is indeed terrifying.

As time ticked by, finally, the villagers returned. When they saw the traces of blood in the wall’s corner, they understood what had occurred, ultimately saying nothing. This time they returned with many provisions, well-fed, yet brought back much as reserves, preparing for emergencies.

"Alright, I should be going, but I have good news—the Great General welcomes you into the city, come on in!"
