Chapter 1836 - 1841: The Furious King
"The person in front, I’ll give you one more chance, if you stop, you won’t blame me for being impolite to you." The King said.
Lin Fei smiled, "Do as you please, if you had a way to be impolite to me, you would have done it already, why bother threatening me now?"
Upon hearing Lin Fei’s words, the pursuer behind him sneered, then suddenly surged forward, using his entire strength to seemingly surpass all of Lin Fei’s, and flew toward the distance.
Lin Fei was surprised, not expecting the other party to use such a method, which indeed worked well, ejecting the True Qi from his body like a jet, instantly propelling himself forward.
However, Lin Fei had other solutions, and that was to turn corners and evade.
Without another word, Lin Fei flew in another direction and disappeared into a dense forest, as if he melded into the woods.
This action by Lin Fei infuriated the King; he didn’t foresee his efforts would be so redundant, and that Lin Fei would fly beyond reach.
At this moment, Lin Fei’s body was already severely depleted of True Qi, as high-intensity flight was not something ordinary people could do, yet Lin Fei kept breaking his limits, showing that even high-intensity flight was manageable for him.
But the body, made of flesh or even steel, would eventually have a few flaws, and slowly they would manifest, which was an inevitable result.
It was at this moment that the King rushed again, forcing Lin Fei to use the little True Qi he had restored and flew directly toward the distance once more.
However, ultimately, Lin Fei was cornered by the King. The gap between them was substantial, like a child against an adult.
Additionally, though children might outrun adults, the disparity in strength was huge. The King looked at Lin Fei below and asked in surprise, "Are you the murderer of my son?"
Lin Fei nodded without denying it, "Your son deserved to die, shouldn’t he have been killed?"
"My son deserved to die? Even if he did, it was not your right to kill him, and now you must pay for his death!" the King declared.
"Wait a second, Your Majesty, don’t you want your son’s Nascent Soul?" Lin Fei queried.
"Nascent Soul? It’s indeed in your hands!" the King stated.
Looking at the sunken-eyed King in front of him, crowned and robed in yellow, Lin Fei said, "Of course, otherwise how could I negotiate with Your Majesty, wouldn’t you agree?"
"What are your terms? Speak!" asked the King, not hastily killing Lin Fei, as his son’s Nascent Soul was still in Lin Fei’s possession, he couldn’t push Lin Fei too far.
"Hahaha, Your Majesty, I’d like to ask you, didn’t you just say that if it wasn’t my fault, you wouldn’t make a move against me, doesn’t that still hold?" Lin Fei asked.
"That...yes it does. Then hand over my son’s Nascent Soul and I’ll let you go, how about that?" the King proposed.
Lin Fei nodded, "I wonder if I can trust the King?" he asked, akin to asking a thug if he could enjoy a peaceful life.
"Of course, I am the ruler of a nation, how could I not keep my word?" the King assured.
Lin Fei smiled, "Very well, but Your Majesty must promise me, no turning back." Lin Fei said.
"Certainly!" said the King of the Ancient Ao Empire.
Lin Fei nodded and smiled, tossing the Nascent Soul in his hand toward the King.
"This is the Fourth Prince’s Nascent Soul, I’m leaving!"
As Lin Fei hurled out the Nascent Soul, he flew toward the distance, however, how could the King allow him to leave safely like this? So, as Lin Fei tried to escape, the King suddenly made a move against him. With his son’s Nascent Soul secured, what was there to fear? He would ensure his son’s Nascent Soul had a place to thrive, but Lin Fei would not be allowed to escape!
Thus, as Lin Fei tried to flee, the King immediately attacked, Lin Fei sensed the attack behind him, smiled, and threw a light sphere from his hand, "This is your son’s Nascent Soul. It’s not I who killed him, but you, yourself, hahahaha!"
That light sphere emitted a sharp sound, and upon hearing it, the King of the Ancient Ao Empire felt a sharp pang in his heart, then gazed at the light sphere disintegrating into nothingness, he discovered that what Lin Fei had thrown was actually an Elemental Stone?!
"You bastard! I’ll kill you!" The King went mad. After all his efforts to catch up, this was the outcome, and how could he accept this? So the King furiously pursued Lin Fei, determined not to let Wang Qiang escape.
Lin Fei chuckled, "Your Majesty, I did not harm your child, you killed your son with your own hands. Can you blame me for that?"
"You despicable thing, I will kill you; you won’t escape!" The King was enraged, chasing Lin Fei with all his might.
Lin Fei paid no heed to the King behind him, hurriedly fleeing into the distance, vanishing in an instant.
And the King wasn’t backing down, unleashing his most powerful stride but could only manage to keep a close trail behind Lin Fei. That sudden charging move was no longer usable; if he attempted it again, Lin Fei might distance further.
"Boy, I’m granting you an opportunity now. If you surrender quietly, I can spare you!" The King shouted.
"Hahahaha, Your Majesty, don’t pretend to be so benevolent. At first, I listened to the pursuer’s words, and what was the outcome? Didn’t I almost get killed?" Lin Fei replied with laughter, no longer trusting the King’s words.
"This time, I mean it." The King said sincerely, but Lin Fei had no trust, feeling somehow that he wasn’t naïve.
"King, you’d better stop your act, your fake demeanor is truly nauseating. If I killed your son and you seek no revenge, why chase me for so long? Now, your son doesn’t even have a Nascent Soul, what choice do you have besides killing me? Stop deceiving yourself." Lin Fei asserted.
Hearing Lin Fei’s words, the King exploded, "Since you understand so well, you better stop quickly, or I won’t be polite with you!"
"Haha, Your Majesty, if you really could be impolite to me, you would’ve acted already, rather than being verbose with endless chatter." Lin Fei remarked.
