Chapter 1811 - 1816: The Wedding Ceremony
Lin Fei headed towards the forest, while at this moment the City Lord Mansion was bustling with activity, though many were doubtful because they hadn’t seen the groom. Where was the groom?
Moreover, Gai Xiaolian, dressed in new attire, had already arrived here, awaiting the arrival of the appointed time.
Many people began discussing among themselves, wondering what exactly was happening. Where was Lin Fei? Wasn’t it agreed that they would marry today? How could they have a wedding without the groom?
But soon, some began to suspect, suggesting it might be a farce; after all, the groom hadn’t shown up, and only the young lady was here. It was surely the young lady taking a gamble.
Gai Xiaolian heard the murmurs around her, but she remained still, standing in place, waiting for the appointed time to come.
At this moment, City Lord Gai Hongtian, along with his eldest son Guba, and Gu Xiaoba had all arrived. Gai Hongtian sat in the chair above, with Guba lying beside him and Gu Xiaoba standing tall; they were all waiting, hoping that person would appear.
Gu Xiaoba had turned over a new leaf because her mistakes were essentially crafted by Guba; she had acted under Guba’s orders, so part of the responsibility for the child’s errors lay with the adults.
Everyone was waiting, as if the entire city was waiting for Lin Fei’s arrival. Yet Lin Fei still did not show any sign of coming here; no one knew if Lin Fei would return or not?
Just then, as time slowly passed, an old General sighed watching the lady standing on the stone platform at the entrance of the City Lord Mansion’s main hall, and said, "The auspicious hour has arrived! Prepare for the ceremony!"
His voice echoed, but what followed was a burst of commotion. The reason being that the groom was missing; they were going to start the ceremony? With whom would they be holding the ceremony?
At this moment, a young, handsome man rushed over from afar, dressed in gold with dragon patterns embroidered, yet his face exuded a sinister aura, surely not a good person.
"Hahaha! Sorry for keeping everyone waiting. I, Prince Orion, have come here to marry the lady in a grand ceremony. Thank you all for your support! Thank you, thank you!" The young man came over and repeatedly expressed gratitude with folded hands, acting like a host, yet no one said anything.
They whispered, as everyone knew it wasn’t this man; although he was a prince, he did not give a favorable impression.
"Prince Orion? What are you doing here?" Gu Xiaoba asked Orion.
Upon hearing Gu Xiaoba’s words, Orion smiled slyly, looking at the reclining Guba, saying, "I am here to be your brother-in-law. Your elder brother has already pledged your sister to me, so naturally, I’m here to wed. Isn’t that right?"
"Nonsense! The person my sister is marrying is definitely not you!" Gu Xiaoba replied.
At this moment, Orion laughed, "Not me? Ha! If not me, then who? Who else is there? Let them stand up for a look, where are they? I fear no one will come!"
However, at this moment, a voice suddenly came from the sky, "Who likes farting so much with sound and stink! Aren’t you afraid of stinking people out?"
Everyone looked afar and saw a giant dragon soaring across the sky, then a young man jumped down from atop the dragon, landing on the stone platform of the City Lord Mansion. Everyone was captivated by the dragon in the sky, which circling overhead exerted a sort of invisible pressure, despite Lin Fei having told Little Black to restrain its presence.
Yet, Little Black’s true form still exuded Dragon Power, which wasn’t something ordinary people could withstand.
"Indeed a Dragon Clan member!" Orion exclaimed.
"Heh, so you’re the prince, right? Your fart is quite loud, but for now you should scram, it’s not your time to appear today," Lin Fei said, then turned to Gai Xiaolian.
When Gai Xiaolian heard Lin Fei’s first sound, she trembled slightly, saying, "Why have you returned? Didn’t I tell you not to come?"
Gai Xiaolian’s voice echoed, audible to all, though they were puzzled why Gai Xiaolian didn’t want Lin Fei to come. However, soon they realized the reason: Lin Fei had a dragon with him but his strength wasn’t that formidable, meaning.
That possessing a treasure unjustly endangered him, potentially drawing fatal tribulation to Lin Fei.
Hence, she wished Lin Fei wouldn’t come.
Lin Fei smiled, "I said before, I will uphold my promise to you. I now make you another promise: when I stand atop the world, I will come to take you away to live the life you desire, alright?"
Gai Xiaolian trembled slightly but finally nodded without saying a word.
"Alright, let the ceremony begin; those irrelevant, please leave!" Lin Fei said, then moved beside Gai Xiaolian.
At this moment, Orion was furious, pointing at Lin Fei, saying, "Kid, since you know my identity, yet dare to be so arrogant, are you courting death?!"
"Courting death?"
Lin Fei gave the prince a smile, and suddenly, a surge of Flame Power burst from Lin Fei’s body, then transformed into a tiger with wings on its back, its body ablaze, ominously advancing towards Orion.
Orion hadn’t expected a big tiger to suddenly appear, was shocked, but quickly reacted, taking out his Treasure to fend off the tiger’s assault, however the tiger suddenly vanished!
To be precise, it suddenly vanished in front of the prince, only to reappear behind him, and bit the prince.
Orion cried out in pain, realizing the tiger was flying towards the sky, soon reaching the dragon. The mighty Black Dragon stared with its huge eyes at Orion, saying, "If you don’t want to die, keep silent!"
Orion instantly deflated, while suddenly four powerful presences appeared around him, each so vast, clear that True Body realm masters were present!
Lin Fei looked at the four masters and laughed, "I hadn’t expected such a place to conceal dragons and crouching tigers, but you better not act rashly. Otherwise, if anything happens to the prince, the blame wouldn’t fall on me but on you, understood?"
Faced with Lin Fei’s smiling face, the True Body masters could only grit their teeth watching Lin Fei. They hadn’t imagined Lin Fei to be so bold as to use the prince as a threat, yet it was very effective; they were truly at a loss.
After all, they couldn’t let the prince be harmed. Otherwise, Lin Fei could escape, but them? They’d likely suffer repercussions, so they could only heed Lin Fei’s words.
