Chapter 1910 - 1915: The Elder Arrives
"Then what do you mean by that? Can this brother explain a bit more clearly?" Lin Fei looked at the other person with a half-smile, feeling unconcerned about wasting time since these people definitely wouldn’t let him leave peacefully. It was true indeed; after all, to them, Lin Fei was an intruder, an outsider, so there was no way they would let Lin Fei be.
"I... Regardless, you must wait for the Elder to come." The disciple finally didn’t know how to open his mouth, so he ultimately brought up the Elder’s name, trying to pressure Lin Fei into staying.
Lin Fei chuckled, "You all want to play heroes, but then? Each of you turns into a coward. Can one of you tell me, was it my fault or his fault just now?" Lin Fei asked the crowd.
Upon hearing Lin Fei’s words, the people remained silent, not daring to say anything more.
Although they were unhappy about it, since Lin Fei hadn’t pointed anyone out specifically, he practically implicated all of them. But that wasn’t important. What mattered wasn’t this; it was the question Lin Fei posed, which they truly couldn’t answer. They could only wait for the Elder to arrive and resolve the issue.
Lin Fei sat down on a large stone outside the yard and spoke, "Since you’re all such cowards and no one dares to speak, I’ll just sit here and wait for your Elder. I’ll watch whether your Elder can really punish someone who hasn’t made a mistake."
The crowd was speechless; Lin Fei actually wasn’t afraid of waiting for the Elder. This left many disciples feeling somewhat ashamed. After Lin Fei sat there, many disciples drifted away, and more kept their distance, not surrounding Lin Fei. They felt embarrassed.
Yet, the few surrounding Lin Fei in the front rows still didn’t understand. After all, if they did understand now, wouldn’t it be akin to admitting defeat? So they could only brace themselves and endure.
In the end, only a few of them remained.
But the Elder still hadn’t arrived.
At this moment, the young girl Lin Fei encountered earlier suddenly approached, parting the crowd and speaking, "Aren’t you all bullying others?"
Seeing this young girl, each disciple showed a cautious look in their eyes. One of them said, "No, Miss Xiaoqing, we’re just waiting for the Elder."
"What Elder? We’ve been waiting for so long, and he hasn’t come. Just disperse; you’re just gathering here causing trouble. And you." The young girl called Xiaoqing pointed at Lin Fei and said, "I get the feeling you arrived at Qianhuang Peak like you were coming home, so relaxed."
Hearing this, Lin Fei chuckled, and the surrounding crowd felt the same, sensing that Lin Fei was unperturbed, as if this place was his own backyard. This made many feel odd, and even if they wanted to make trouble for Lin Fei, they felt a lack of confidence.
"I have reason on my side around the world, and it isn’t my fault. I don’t seem to bear necessary responsibility, right? I just want to see whether the Elders of Qianhuang Peak are also unreasonable." Lin Fei said.
Upon hearing this, the surrounding disciples looked at each other; Lin Fei was indeed bold, daring to say anything, really bold beyond measure.
"Hehe, you’re right, I support you." Xiaoqing said.
Lin Fei looked at Xiaoqing puzzled and asked, "Why do you support me? Aren’t you a disciple of Qianhuang Peak?"
"Does whether I’m a disciple of Qianhuang Peak have anything to do with this matter?" Xiaoqing asked.
Lin Fei chuckled, "If you were a disciple of Qianhuang Peak, saying this could lead to endless trouble in the future since people love to protect their own."
Hearing this, Xiaoqing nodded, "What you said is right, but I think whether I am or not is irrelevant, as long as I know to support justice, isn’t that enough?"
"Well, thank you." Lin Fei said lightly. Although he didn’t know Xiaoqing’s identity, since she supported him, thanking her was still necessary.
"By the way, can you tell me your name now?" Xiaoqing asked.
Others also perked up, eager to know what this youngster’s name was, where he came from, daring to be so bold.
Lin Fei thought for a moment, "My name is..."
However, before Lin Fei could finish his sentence, he was interrupted by a voice.
"What are you doing? Why are you gathered here?"
A voice rang out, followed by an elder approaching, and upon seeing this Elder, everyone greeted him politely.
"Greetings Elder Yang!"
"Why are you all gathered here? Tell me, what’s the reason?" Elder Yang came into the crowd and asked, his gaze sweeping around until he finally found the ’scene of the incident.’ He walked over to Zhang Huan and asked, "Who? Who did this?"
Many disciples looked towards Lin Fei, some even pointed fingers at him. Lin Fei chuckled, stood up, and brushed off his pants, "I did it."
"You did it? You don’t belong to our Qianhuang Peak, do you?" Elder Yang asked.
Lin Fei nodded, "That’s right, I’m not one of your Qianhuang Peak disciples; I’m here to participate in the Beast Fighting Tournament."
Lin Fei looked at this Elder Yang, who in turn looked at him, then glanced at Xiaoqing beside Lin Fei, with a slightly visible twitch in his expression. He smiled at Xiaoqing and asked, "Miss Xiaoqing, why are you here?"
Xiaoqing thought for a moment, "Hm... I just came to watch the show. You handle your business, don’t mind me."
Hearing this, Elder Yang nodded with a smile and then turned to Lin Fei, restraining his smile slightly, and asked, "Since you’re here to join the Beast Fighting Tournament, why did you injure our Qianhuang Peak’s disciples?"
Lin Fei chuckled, "I have my reasons." Then Lin Fei explained the course of events, making Elder Yang of Qianhuang Peak nod, and he asked the others, "Is what he said true?"
The disciples remained silent, though one honest and brave disciple spoke up, "Yes, that’s indeed how it happened."
Elder Yang snorted coldly and then said, "I knew it was you all bullying outsiders. This is outrageous; it seems the punishment from Qianhuang Peak isn’t severe enough!"
At this point, a disciple saw the Elder leaning toward Lin Fei and said, "Elder, he injured our Qianhuang Peak’s disciples. We can’t just let this go, can we?"
Hearing this disciple’s words, Elder Yang thought for a moment and replied, "Indeed, as you said, we can’t just let this event slide..."
