Lin Fei stepped down into the arena, finding himself locked in a dark room. He had no idea what this place was or what the rules were. A guard stood before him, and Lin Fei began to chat with him.

"Brother, can you help me out?" Lin Fei asked.

Upon hearing this, the man replied, "I know your situation. You want to escape — that’s impossible unless you win the final victory."

"What do you mean? I’m not a criminal," Lin Fei inquired.

"True, you’re not a criminal, but now that you’re here, there’s no way out. Having entered this battle, your fate is sealed, although you did come here." The guard said to Lin Fei.

"I didn’t intend to come here. It was those people who brought me here without explaining anything. How was I supposed to know this was a competition area?" Lin Fei felt deeply wronged, tricked by others. Clearly, the people here were all scoundrels. Damn them!

"This matter is partly your own doing, not anyone else’s. These criminals are actually villains of the Empire. If they can pull someone in, they will. You’re just unlucky," the guard said helplessly. The rules had to be followed; otherwise, a worse fate awaited.

"What happens if I lose?" Lin Fei saw the outcome but still wanted to ask if there was hope or another way out.

The guard looked at Lin Fei and spoke, "You’ve seen the outcome: death. Even if you’re alive, they won’t let you leave alive."

"Is there really no way out?" Lin Fei asked.

"There’s no way out unless you find someone who knows you, a significant figure to free you. Otherwise, you must adhere to these rules," the management spoke.

Upon hearing this, Lin Fei realized he truly had no acquaintances. He was just a ’Wanderer’ who came here out of curiosity to see the Duel Arena; otherwise, he wouldn’t have come.

"I want to know: can I use a Demon Beast in battle?" Lin Fei asked.

"A Demon Beast? You have a Demon Beast? Right, you’re an outsider and have Demon Beasts, unlike these criminals who possess none. Your question is indeed a point of concern. Let me show you the rules."

The management finished speaking and took out a book with the rules. After checking, she nodded, "You can indeed use Demon Beasts. It’s not forbidden; it’s stated as permissible."

"It’s allowed, then it’s much easier. Since I’m not a criminal, if I use a Demon Beast... Little bro, can you show me the rules you have? Let me learn them and avoid making mistakes, right?" Lin Fei said.

"That’s fine, take a look. It’s no problem." The management handed the book to Lin Fei, who understood many things after reading it.

The rules of the Duel Arena seemed very simple: victory was the ultimate goal. While methods were limited, one couldn’t act maliciously. Even if one did and wasn’t caught, there were no problems, but if caught, it meant a gruesome death.

Then Lin Fei saw the rules: Demon Beast vs. Demon Beast, human vs. human, and mixed battles. It was just these three types, one against the other.

Lin Fei was in a human vs. human battle, while other arenas hosted human vs. Demon Beast and Demon Beast vs. Demon Beast battles, each different.

It was clearly stated that in the criminal arena, killing the opponent was allowed, and the rules for Demon Beasts permitted bringing them into the arena and killing the opponent.

Upon seeing this rule, Lin Fei felt hopeful. At least death wouldn’t be as gruesome as he thought.

Soon, three rounds of rest were completed. Lin Fei didn’t expect the man in black hadn’t moved on yet? Was he the last one? If so, his advantage was tremendous since others had been fighting bloodily for a long time. If he faced a weakened opponent who persisted...

He might win easily, the pros and cons were evident. Yet what does it matter? They are all criminals without the right to choose, merely executing orders.

Thus, Lin Fei entered the arena, facing an opponent who appeared weak but was innately sinister and ruthless. Upon seeing Lin Fei, they started chatting, but amidst the conversation suddenly spewed venom at Lin Fei, which penetrated Lin Fei’s Protection Shield, melting through.

Lin Fei furrowed his brows, ultimately having to use the Demon Shield Protection, but it couldn’t withstand the corrosion.

"Ha ha ha, don’t be afraid, let the venom get up-close and personal,"

Lin Fei looked at his twisted opponent, deftly leaping away to dodge the attack, while the spewing venom corroded the iron cage. Unexpectedly, one member of the audience was sprayed full-face, instantly screaming and swiftly reduced to a pool of blood, terrifying others to retreat rapidly, no longer daring to act rashly.

At this moment, Lin Fei devised a strategy, soaring into the air. Admittedly this consumed a large amount of True Qi and wasn’t a wise move.

The opponent continued to spew venom toward Lin Fei, who constantly dodged. After narrowly evading over a dozen venomous assaults, Lin Fei noticed the audience outside was in chaos, and at that moment, a management staffer arrived at the iron cage, behind the opponent.

The opponent was unwary and continued spewing venom toward Lin Fei.

Suddenly, the management moved, hooking the opponent’s head with an iron hook, dragging and pressing it onto the iron cage. The opponent hadn’t reacted, not understanding why the management treated him this way.

"Why! You’re not supposed to participate!" The opponent protested.

"Not participating, but you’ve disrupted the audience’s viewing, so you must die!" With this, the management pulled fiercely with the hook, and in an instant, the opponent was beheaded, blood spraying high.

Lin Fei came down, as the management looked at him and said, "This is your final chance; don’t try such tricks again. You may have accidentally come here, but such tricks will harm the audience. Do it again, and I’ll kill you too!"
