Chapter 1881 - 1886: Dragon Ball
"Is it that serious?" Lin Fei said, still cautiously approaching.
Lin Fei discovered that this Demon Beast King was indeed very powerful. In Lin Fei’s eyes, he had never seen someone trained to such an extent before. At least it seemed this creature had cultivated for many years, whereas Lin Fei? Lin Fei hadn’t cultivated for even a hundred years; perhaps this ape in front of him was already over a hundred years old?
At this moment, Lin Fei had already come alongside the Demon Beast King. Carefully, he walked through a bare patch of land. For some unknown reason, nothing grew here. Therefore, if the ape opened its eyes and looked at him, it would indeed be difficult to escape the path of death.
Lin Fei’s cautious efforts finally allowed him to get close to the pool. However, upon seeing it, Lin Fei was surprised to find that the entrance was straight. Lin Fei asked the little dragon in his heart.
"Should I really go down there?" Lin Fei asked.
Little Black nodded, "Go down, there should be something left inside. Hopefully, it’s a treasure of our Dragon Clan; this way, I could recover."
But this idea seemed a bit pitiful. After all, this place had been occupied by the Beast King for who knows how long, so prospects weren’t bright for Lin Fei.
Not caring much, Lin Fei, along with Little Black, gently prepared to step into the water.
However, just as Lin Fei was about to dip his foot into the water, he immediately noticed the enormous black ape looking over, making Lin Fei’s heart leap to his throat. He made brief eye contact with it.
The giant ape looked at Lin Fei with a surprised expression, then adjusted its posture to confirm that there was indeed a human trespassing on its territory.
"Roar!"
Its voice, like Heavenly Thunder, roared angrily at Lin Fei before charging at him with an imposing aura.
Startled by the other’s momentum, without hesitation, Lin Fei jumped directly into the pool and rushed toward its depths.
To Lin Fei’s surprise, the ape followed once more, and as Lin Fei swam to the bottom, the ape did the same. In no time, it was nearly upon him.
Lin Fei hadn’t expected the ape to be this fast underwater as well.
But as he continued to dive, Lin Fei gradually noticed the pressure at the water’s bottom increasing. Lin Fei could still handle it, and the big guy behind him didn’t seem bothered, so both continued to swim downward. Finally, after about ten minutes, Lin Fei reached the bottom of a deep pit, surrounded by darkness, he saw the previously overhead hole had become just a small dot, and the surrounding was illuminated only by some underground lights.
These glowing things, weighted by the pressure, were probably some kind of creatures. Once accustomed to the surrounding scene, Lin Fei looked at the light emitted by the creatures in front of him, which was enough for their Cultivator vision.
Seeing the giant ape behind him, Lin Fei couldn’t understand why it wanted to relentlessly pursue him. He didn’t get it, but just then, Little Black spoke, "Lin Fei, there’s a disturbance ahead, move forward."
Hearing Little Black’s words, Lin Fei immediately dashed off into the distance, the ape still closely following him, charging towards him along the way.
The ape wasn’t as fast as Lin Fei, though; the Godspeed Talisman worked effortlessly in the water as it did on land, allowing Lin Fei to feel its speed.
In the blink of an eye, Lin Fei disappeared from the original spot, rushing towards where Little Black had signaled.
Finally, Little Black and Lin Fei arrived at their destination, and it turned out to be a house-sized Dragon Ball?
"Is this the Dragon Ball? It’s too big!" It was indeed large, though Lin Fei didn’t know that this was actually not a particularly big dragon in the Dragon Clan; there were much larger ones compared to this.
"Dragon Balls can grow large or small, able to change form while the owner is alive. After the owner’s death, the Dragon Ball may vary in size. This one does belong to the Dragon Clan, but over time, its power has probably diminished significantly." Little Black explained to Lin Fei.
Lin Fei nodded, "Understood, but what should we do next?"
"Hehe, the guy behind us is coming, go onto the Dragon Ball and threaten him. Besides, you don’t have anything else that can make him yield." Little Black said.
At this moment, using threats was the only solution; it was the only way to solve the issue at hand.
Finally, listening to Little Black, Lin Fei stood atop the Dragon Ball, stepping on its transparent surface, like a glass orb, yet truly the most powerful artifact of the Dragon Clan—usually encountered only rarely.
"Don’t come any closer!" Lin Fei telepathically warned the charging ape.
The ape halted and stopped, asking, "Who are you? If you want treasures or Spiritual Medicines, I have them."
Lin Fei was momentarily stunned, "You seem good at reading people’s minds, but I’m sorry, that’s not what I want. I’m here for the Dragon Ball."
"What would a human like you want with a Dragon Ball? It would be of no use to you!" the ape questioned.
Lin Fei chuckled, "No use? It is useful to me, but you need to give it to me first."
"Understood, it’s not impossible to get the Dragon Ball. If you leave, I can give it to you." the ape replied.
"Do you think I’m that naive? If I leave, would you still give it to me? It would be generous of you not to kill me, let alone give it to me. No need to discuss further, just leave here, and then I’ll leave. I promise not to take the Dragon Clan, I just need it to do something, okay?" Lin Fei asked.
Hearing Lin Fei’s transmission, the ape looked at Lin Fei. Who did he think he was? Threatened by a human, it was truly embarrassing.
"No problem."
Lin Fei hadn’t expected the ape to be so cooperative, nodding in agreement to Lin Fei’s request, and flew away into the distance.
But just then, Little Black suddenly shouted, "Lin Fei, run fast!"
Lin Fei was bewildered, why run? Why should I run? Lin Fei couldn’t understand.
Yet his reactions were swift; he immediately fled, leaving the original place.
At that moment, a horrifying scene unfolded. The ape suddenly appeared behind Lin Fei, emerging from nowhere, terrifyingly silent as a ghost, without any sound, appearing quietly.
Reaching the side of the Dragon Ball, the ape grabbed it directly, looked at Lin Fei, and said, "State your purpose!"
