Chapter 2014 - 886: Book of Eternity
Rod remembered very clearly that the Eternal Plaza did indeed have the ability to form special statues, but this ability had rarely appeared since the plaza’s creation. Why did it suddenly manifest now?
Was it the influence of the [Spirit of Life] and [Spirit of Death]?
Rod approached to take a closer look. The Trolian statue appeared cold and gray, seemingly unable to awaken. Yet he vaguely sensed an aura of time.
"Master, there’s a special time imprint left here... My heavens!"
The Book of Knowledge turned its pages, exclaiming in shock: "This is the residual spirit of Trolian. No, it cannot be considered a routine remnant spiritual body. It has lost all its spiritual energy, all its spirituality, everything related to the spirit. It’s an echo, a fragment of will, a dying obsession of Trolian, the lingering sound of his last cries. He tore apart his own spirit and soul, smearing the remnants across the river of time, trying to preserve some information!"
Rod’s heart shook. Just hearing the words of the Book of Knowledge was terrifying. It was hard to imagine how he accomplished such a feat in that dire situation.
The information he left must be incredibly important, Rod thought, just as he was about to call Asa over when suddenly he saw a time phantom scattering from the statue. Almost instinctively, he reached out to touch it, and in that instant, a vast, hoarse, deep voice, mixing countless noises, resonated in his soul.
"Destiny! Eternal destiny, the final trajectory, is the Itakutos Core!"
The next second, the time phantom vanished, and the chaotic voice was gone. All the information Trolian had expended every effort to leave behind was merely this one sentence.
Rod slightly furrowed his brow: "What is the Itakutos Core?"
The Book of Knowledge turned its pages hesitantly, replying: "I don’t know, I can’t remember... but I vaguely recall hearing the name Itakutos somewhere."
Rod’s heart sank. Even the Book of Knowledge didn’t know. So where should he go to find this item, and what use does it have?
He pondered for a moment, then asked: "What does the final trajectory of eternal destiny mean?"
The Book of Knowledge slowly turned its pages, lost in thought. Yet, unconsciously, both its and Rod’s gaze turned to Asa, the Book of Eternity, who was feeling dejected from failing to predict the location of the Itakutos Core.
"Asa, you mentioned earlier that you vaguely felt that your core, your carrier, the Book of Eternity, is incomplete?"
Asa quickly responded: "That’s right, Master. I am increasingly clear on this point. Its destiny did not form a closed loop, and because of this, my control over destiny has always been insufficient. A large portion of the residual spirits we devoured in Unknown Space cannot be deciphered."
Rod pondered, "Book, is it possible that this sentence means the other half of the Eternal Heart is the Itakutos Core?"
The Book of Knowledge did not immediately answer. Its thoughts were actually aligned with its master’s, but the question was, how did Trolian know the Book of Eternity was missing another half? And why did he desperately leave this sentence at the bottom of the Abyss?
"Is it possible..." Rod mused: "Trolian actually knew of the Dream Realm’s existence!"
The Book of Knowledge suddenly realized: "Yes, the former Master of Dreams, Heigao’er, experienced the Epoch’s destruction in the late Fire Epoch, just like Trolian! After the last Fire King City was destroyed, the severely injured and dream-shattered Heigao’er and another human hero, Tasnia, went to Starry Sky City, while Trolian led the remaining humans to the Giant King City in the Dead Ash Mountain Range. They couldn’t have been unfamiliar with each other, and before the Dream Realm was shattered, it was whole, possessing both [Spirit of Life] and [Spirit of Death]. The human powerhouses of that time surely knew of the Dream Realm’s existence!"
The Book of Knowledge exclaimed excitedly.
"Therefore, as a Quasi-King Level powerhouse, Trolian must have known about the Dream Realm as well, thus, it’s not surprising that he was aware the Book of Eternity was incomplete! Master, you are a genius. Your wisdom is second only to mine!"
Rod paid no heed to the Book of Knowledge’s nonsense and continued, "If our deduction is correct, then this information is likely intended for Heigao’er. This indicates one of two things: either they knew where the Itakutos Core was, or they had already acquired it!"
"Could it be that it’s a legacy Trolian brought out before the destruction of the Fire King City?" the Book of Knowledge speculated, "But if that’s the case, how could Heigao’er not have discovered it?"
The puppet whispered: "Yes, the status of the Master of Dreams among humans was very high. I vaguely remember that shortly after Heigao’er became Master of Dreams, he reached the Quasi-King stage. The strongest humans could not have ignored him. If Heigao’er sought the other half of the Book of Eternity, the human King would have presented all special creations."
Rod fell into deep thought. He felt that he was already very close to the truth. Countless ideas emerged from deep within his memory, uncountable clues flashed through his mind, and everything that happened when he encountered Trolian’s corpse repeatedly played in his thoughts.
Suddenly, a bolt of lightning flashed through his mind: "I know it!"
