Chapter 1980 - 875: Long Tower (Part 3)
At this time, the Shield of Darkness was already covered in cracks. The puppet followed suit, drifting back into the Dream Realm like a falling leaf. The Giant Sword descended with an incredibly dull thud, striking the long shield, but even level 19 Spiritual Energy could not immediately break through the giant shield.
In an instant, Rod’s attack reached its peak, and the destiny trajectory of the Giant Sword quickly collapsed. This sky-piercing Giant Sword suddenly seemed to have lost all its power. The sword body shattered and scattered into countless fragments.
The Tower Spirit then dispersed the long shield, and the shattered bodies of the evil ghosts floated away, mixing with the sword fragments.
Accompanied by a huge roar, a torrent of gray air surged into Rod’s body, and then turned toward the Dream Realm, appearing atop the Soul Altar.
[Twisted Giant Sword’s Broken Soul]
[Great Divine Soul]
[Possesses 10,000 units of Nightmare Fuel]
[Possesses 20 units of Primordial Soil]
[Possesses 20 units of Primordial Water]
[Possesses 20 units of Divine Stone]
[Description: The Divine Artifact of the All-Powerful God, it lay dormant through the ages and became one of the sources of terror in the upper-level Spirit Realm due to the corrosion of the Black Fog.]
——
Rod’s heart trembled. He never expected that this Giant Sword was a monster, and although the Monster Soul was labeled as a "Great Divine Soul," it seemed more like a peculiar derivative, as it lacked divinity, Source Law, and Divine Source Material.
The Book of Knowledge excitedly shouted: "Master, master, another Great Divine Soul! We can rekindle a Star!"
Rod suppressed his excitement and focused on the description of the soul. It was very short, stating only that the Giant Sword was the Divine Artifact of the "All-Powerful God," corrupted into a monster by the Black Fog.
"Book, what is the All-Powerful God? Is it related to the Source Heavenly God?"
The Book of Knowledge pondered: "Master, this part of the memory has been completely erased. From the description, it should be one of the True Gods."
"Perhaps, the All-Powerful God is the Source Heavenly God."
Rod nodded. This wasn’t the question he needed to consider right now. Although the Giant Sword was destroyed, the crisis was not over. Those formidable monsters known as "Tower Knights" were charging into the Dream Realm.
This battle was equally difficult. Like the Giant Sword, the "Tower Knights" were extremely sturdy, and conventional attacks hardly caused effective damage. However, their destiny trajectory, like the Giant Sword, was destroyed. Under the attack of [Burning Destiny], Rod quickly obliterated them.
Unfortunately, these monsters did not have souls, clearly indicating they were merely derivatives.
Rod felt a trace of heaviness. These monsters possessed divine power, even though it was less than 20 units, they were primordial monsters. How powerful must the original body be if such strong monsters were merely derivatives?
He couldn’t linger here.
An idea flashed in Rod’s mind. After swiftly collecting the floating fragments, he returned to the Dream Realm.
"Master!"
The Book of Knowledge excitedly shouted: "We’ve passed through the crisis. I simply can’t believe it. We actually made it through the crisis like this!"
Rod didn’t acknowledge it. Although this battle was won, the cost was also significant. The puppet was already in a state of silence, its body full of cracks, and Asa was busily repairing its destiny trajectory, not even having time to speak. Even the Tower Spirit looked considerably weakened, but there were no signs of it dissipating.
"This summoning seems to be permanently present," Rod pondered.
The Book of Knowledge excitedly shouted: "Yes, master, it, like the Evil Ghost King, is also a guardian spirit of the Dream Realm! As long as it’s not eradicated, it will exist forever!"
Rod nodded: "Book, have we really completely passed this crisis?"
The Book of Knowledge flipped its pages and shouted: "Of course, the Dream Realm is no longer what it used to be! The master is no longer what he used to be! Hahaha, it’s all because of me, without me, there wouldn’t be the master today..."
Boom!
The Dream Realm abruptly shook, and Rod quickly turned his sight to see the Obelisk’s prophecy surface erupting with a bright red light. A line of blood-red, sinister text appeared beneath all the red glow.
[An unknown terrifying presence is watching the Dream Realm]
[Invasion could occur at any moment]
[Invasion could occur at any moment]
With the flickering red light, the text dissipated entirely.
The Book of Knowledge was petrified, as if turned to stone, and after a long while, it finally spoke: "Master, the ultimate invasion... seems to be imminent."
Rod said nothing, only clenched his fists.
——
——
In the days that followed, Rod spent most of his time in the Dream Realm.
After the prophecy surface showed signs of an invasion, the Book of Knowledge became exceedingly cautious, speaking in whispers as if fearful of alarming something dreadful.
The Dream Realm’s voyage within [The Long Tower] also became extremely cautious, minimizing any disturbances as much as possible, yet the monsters assaulting the Dream Realm kept coming.
To prevent further disturbances, these monsters were slain by Rod using [Burning Destiny].
Compared to other methods, this manner of killing caused the least disturbance. Rod was delighted to discover that monsters destroyed by [Burning Destiny] produced almost no disturbance.
This greatly aided the tranquil sailing of the Dream Realm.
The caution of the Book of Knowledge also paid off, as the number of monsters attacking the Dream Realm gradually decreased. After a few days, peace was largely restored, with no significant difference from voyaging through other upper-level Spirit Realm regions.
Rod could finally enter the Abyss.
Although delayed by a few days, this wasn’t necessarily a bad thing.
During this period, the pressure on Trolian increased further. The Black Mist Tide intensified to a new level, with numerous massive Black Fog Symbionts and even unformed Black Fog Primordial Bodies reaching the battlefield.
But surprisingly, Solos managed to withstand the pressure. The Ender of All Things fully unleashed his power, single-handedly holding back all the unformed Black Fog Primordial Bodies outside of Trolian, preventing them from getting close to Rod’s Primordial Destruction Space.
As a result, the original concerns dissipated. At least for a time, the intensity of the Black Mist Tide would not increase further, allowing Rod to enter the Abyss without worrying that Trolian couldn’t handle a stronger tide.
Even more pleasing, Chucher, Fei Xue, and Frank all made significant progress, reaching the second stage of the Primordial level after just a few days.
And what delighted Rod most, Helod, after receiving his direct teachings, swiftly synchronized with the Dawn Holy Sword, deepening their resonance. His power surged rapidly, quickly consolidating the Primordial stage and entering the second stage, only lacking three Source Laws compared to Rod.
With Qingyu and the Great Shepherd Leader’s approval, these four would enter the Abyss with Rod.
Rod originally intended for Alan to join him too, but the frontline couldn’t spare him now, so Alan was tasked with crafting "Abyss Blades" for him, allowing movement within the Abyss and preventing Abyssal air erosion.
Finally, on the fifth day after the Dream Realm entered [The Long Tower], Rod led his team, skillfully traversing the sewers and stepping into the entrance of the Abyss beneath Trolian.
