Chapter 2014: Children Taken Away One by One
"I received a message saying you might be in danger. Are you all right?"
"There indeed was danger just now, Uncle Bai Lu. You arrived too late, the danger has already been resolved."
"What happened?"
Little Taotie waved him over with a mysterious air.
Lu Yuan curiously leaned in.
Little Taotie grabbed his arm and pulled him towards the restaurant, "Come quick, see the show!"
Lu Yuan peeked inside and saw a scene that left him shocked.
These two were among the best in the base, even if he teamed up with Old Tie, they might struggle to defeat either one.
Now, these two experts were grappling with each other in the cramped hallway of this small eatery.
One was blind, the other had a broken head, they looked quite pitiful indeed.
Little Taotie pointed with her small chubby hand, "It’s them!"
"They..." Lu Yuan’s mouth felt bitter.
If these two were parasites, how many more could there be in the organization?
"They wanted to steal the treasure from us!" Little Taotie huffed angrily.
Lu Yuan’s gaze deepened with concern.
The wheelchair man’s assets falling into Little Taotie’s hands wasn’t known to many, only superiors were aware...
Lu Yuan took a deep breath, "You guys should go deliver food to those kids first, here...I’ll handle it."
"Okay then! I’ll leave it to you!"
Little Taotie waved at Lu Yuan, "Uncle Bai Lu, come back soon!"
Little Taotie and Hua Jinyan took the hot porridge back, those kids were starving, pouring the scalding porridge into their mouths heedlessly.
"Slow down, don’t rush, there’s plenty, it’s too hot, blow on it a little before eating..."
No matter how much Little Taotie urged, they kept gulping it down eagerly.
Little Taotie sighed and fetched the cooled porridge, mixing it into their bowls with the hot one, to bring it to a suitable temperature they could drink.

He didn’t know whom to trust, nor whom to hand over the two instructors to, so he had given them medicine and locked them in a nearby hotel, waiting to solve matters here before going back to interrogate them.
"How can we help them find their parents?" Little Taotie asked.
Lu Yuan: "I’ve already contacted the police in R Country, they will help. Children from R Country should be found quickly, those from other countries might take some time."
The police from R Country came, again and again, taking many children away. The first batch were kids from R Country, followed by those whose parents had reported them missing...
As night fell, only three children remained.
One was the youngest, a little girl who liked to stick close to Little Taotie, she was from Hua Country, and the other two were mixed-race boys.
"Go to sleep first." Little Taotie coaxed her little sister to sleep.
The little girl lay under the covers, quietly sobbing, trying not to disturb Little Taotie with her light cries.
