Chapter 1913: Force-Fed a Bowl of Dog Food
Hua Jinyan didn’t agree, but Little Taotie had already dashed out.
Hua Jinyan had no choice but to run after her.
The dorm uncle shouted after them, "I never said yes!"
Little Taotie stormed back in a huff, her hairstyle already a mess as she charged over. Her little head rammed straight ahead like she was going to knock the dorm uncle flying.
The dorm uncle reached out and pressed down on Little Taotie’s little head with one hand.
Little Taotie: "..."
Hua Jinyan: "..."
The whole scene was way too smooth.
The move was way too practiced.
Her short legs and short arms flailed wildly, but she couldn’t land a hit.
The height advantage once again turned Little Taotie into a joke.
Little Taotie was so mad she shouted, "You big meanie!"
Students who’d gotten up early, eaten breakfast, and were on their way to the track to work out, all heard that shout.
"Who’s that? She’s got some lungs on her!"
"Nice lung capacity!"
"Seems like a new little girl."
"Looks like a Little Star. Have you guys watched TV lately? She’s been really popular these past two years."
"Who’s got time for TV? I’ve been super into astronomy lately, it’s just too interesting."
"Physics is even more fun!"
"Isn’t chemistry fun?"
"Exactly, there’s so much cool stuff out there, who’s still watching TV?"
The older students came onto the track, spared the commotion a glance, then went back to their own training.
Little Taotie was about to be driven mad; her arms were sore from swinging, and she still couldn’t land a hit!
Little Taotie finally stopped, looking completely deflated.
The dorm uncle pulled his hand back, rubbed his nose, and said with an awkward laugh, "Forgot to tell you, I’m actually pretty tall. Before I became a weightlifter, the national team picked me for basketball. I just didn’t like all the rules and restrictions on the court, so I chose the simpler sport of weightlifting instead."
Little Taotie glared at him with reddened eyes, her baby voice fierce as anything: "I’m going to grow taller than you!"
Dorm uncle: "...That might be a bit difficult."
The older kids watching from the side burst out laughing.
"Little cutie, you don’t know how tall the dorm uncle is, do you?"
"He’s two meters tall too."
"And you still wanna be taller than him? No way that’s happening!"
The dorm uncle waved his hand, embarrassed. "Not a full two meters, I barely hit 1.99."
Little Taotie: "..."
Little Taotie looked pitifully at Hua Jinyan, her baby voice full of grievance: "Do you think... I can grow to two meters?"
Even as she said it, her own gaze drifted away, guilty—she knew it was basically impossible.
Hua Jinyan cleared his throat. "It’s fine. By the time you grow up, he’ll be old."
Little Taotie was puzzled. "Do people shrink when they get old?"
Hua Jinyan nodded. "Yeah. Not only do they shrink, maybe when he’s old he’ll have a stroke and end up in a wheelchair. Then when he’s sitting, you’ll definitely be taller than him standing up."
Little Taotie brightened, her Little Dimple sinking in.
The dorm uncle, on the other hand, couldn’t be happy, his face darkening. "You brat! Are you cursing me?"
Hua Jinyan rolled his eyes at him, kept running forward, and said, "Seven laps left."
Little Taotie ran to catch up.
Hua Jinyan said helplessly, "Don’t run. He doesn’t count for your laps."
"Whether he counts is his business. I’m just running with you. I’m not going to let you fight this battle alone!"
Hua Jinyan felt a warm twinge in his chest. "Did you eat breakfast?"
"I did, I had shengjian."
Hua Jinyan nodded and didn’t stop Little Taotie again.
He figured seven laps wouldn’t be hard for Little Taotie anyway; she could just treat it as helping with digestion.
The boys around them all stared at each other.
A fourteen- or fifteen-year-old boy grumbled, "I just got force-fed a whole bowl of dog food."
