Chapter 1850: You’re the Most Dangerous One
Little Taotie blinked, and blinked again.
The Golden Winged Roc let out a miserable howl; it turns out someone was trying to drag the Roc away, perhaps to stew the whole thing.
"Save me! I can show you the way, I know of a Spirit Vein!"
The Great Elder immediately rushed over, chasing away the ones trying to drag the Golden Winged Roc.
These were just small fry coming out of the shadows first, so the Great Elder effortlessly chased them away.
The Great Elder asked, "Where is the Spirit Vein?"
The Golden Winged Roc shrugged innocently, "I was bluffing, how else would you come to save me?"
The Great Elder sharpened his claws, eyes turning fierce, "Aren’t you afraid I’ll eat you!"
The Ninth Elder had recovered, yet his face was very pale.
"Big Brother, I need a supplement, shall we eat together? Making soup with the Golden Winged Roc would be delicious."
Little Taotie puffed up angrily, "We must protect animals! No eating!"
As she spoke, the little girl dared to rush in front of the Golden Winged Roc, spreading her arms wide, like a mother hen protecting her chicks, her little face tense, with a very serious expression.
Great Elder: "If Zaizai doesn’t eat, I won’t eat either."
Ninth Elder: "I just swallowed the Old Mud Pill, feeling very nauseous, no appetite."
The Golden Winged Roc breathed a sigh of relief.
Little Beast Bai Bai’s soft baby voice: "We can’t kill it, but its meat is really tasty, I’ve thought of a compromise."
Ninth Elder inquired, "What’s the plan?"
Little Taotie puffed out her chest with confidence, "Can’t kill it, should keep it fed, clothed, and sheltered, just occasionally research a bit."
"Hold on! Your so-called research is that sort where Brother and I are your test subjects?"
"Yes and no."
Ninth Elder was eager, "Quickly, explain!"
Little Taotie giggled, "Eat a wing today, surely it will grow a new wing tomorrow."
Ninth Elder nodded in agreement, eyes filled with confusion: Golden Winged Roc is a bird, right? Shouldn’t be like insects, where damaged parts not only heal but regrow.
"Just take some meat if you crave it; I have lots frozen."
"You... are referring to slow slicing, right?"
Little Taotie: "Slow slicing?"
Ninth Elder used an extremely thin blade to slice himself, selecting the best piece of meat and cutting it down.
The texture was exceptionally tender due to being frozen.
"Is it really aromatic and delicious?" her baby voice was full of envy.
She still didn’t know when she could leave this dreamscape...
Although the Golden Winged Roc isn’t a gecko and can’t regenerate, its recovery speed is fast.
The Golden Winged Roc became lively and wanted to leave, to avoid being slow-sliced.
"This is a Sheepskin Map, though I don’t know the specifics, I haven’t been there, but many people have seen auroras nearby, consider it a thank you."
The Golden Winged Roc handed over a Sheepskin Map covered in talismans to Little Taotie, "Can I go now?"
Little Taotie stopped him, "You can’t leave yet."
"Why?"
Little Taotie’s gaze did not stray from its intact arm.
The Golden Winged Roc stepped back, "I won’t let you eat it."
Little Taotie pursed her lips, "I know, I’m not hungry."
"Grrr!"
Her stomach was very uncooperative.
Though she ate not long ago, it began to act up, continuously grumbling and growling with the sound of hunger.
"You can’t leave; many are waiting to throw your wing into the pot, once you leave, they might rush and catch you."
"But... aren’t you the most dangerous one?"
