The Magus of Genesis

Episode 5: The Meadow Hunter/Grassland Hunter

"Oh, hey, is that a hemoth?

"True. It's been a long time since I've seen you…………."

Yuki raised her voice, pointing to a giant walking up a meadow that stretched far below her eyes.

"I used to eat a lot, but it's been completely shabby lately."

"Delicious, isn't it?

"Ugh...... oops. Yeah."

I almost nod reflexively and answer with my voice, remembering that there is a yuki over my head.

I was just going back to being a dragon and putting Yuki on and flying through the sky.

If you're talking about stability, I'd like you to stay on your back more than on your head, but that would make it too far away to have a conversation.

"…… It's getting smaller."

Pompous, I shrug. The appearance of Hemos, which fits under his eyes, seemed quite small, even minus the distance being apart. Of course, their bodies have not shrunk, regardless of individual differences.

I grew up.

Given the height difference with Nina, my body length now is probably nearly ten meters. Compared to Behemoth, it's still small, but there's still no physical difference like before. I was confident that I would even try head-on.

"Hunt?"

"I don't hunt. The two of us can't bring it back after hunting here... and the numbers are pretty low."

Behemoth is strong and big. But not so much as invincible. Even if it wasn't for me, if a few famous Hiiro Village hunters got together, they'd be hunted. But as can be imagined from the giant, it was less fertile and took a long time to grow. It quickly goes extinct when you're hunting all you want.

"Ha-ha."

"Look, I'm coming down. Grab it."

Calling on Yuki to reply with a little dissatisfaction, I descend to the place of destination and take a look at people. It was a small village, in the meadows.

"Come on, where are we?

Yuki looks around with a glimpse of the unfamiliar building.

Basically, the houses of the Yuki are made of wood, but what is in front of them is like a tent made of animal hair and leather. I can't see it from the outside, but the skeleton was made of Behemoth bone, something that could easily be broken down and carried.

"It's the village of Lucos and the others. There's got to be a kid here who's going to be an international student..."

"Rikuko...... what?

Weird. I can't feel a sign in the village. Even a peek inside the tent, there was no one there. The sun is still smoking in the enclosure, so I should have been there just now. Even when you're away, it's strange that you don't even have children.

"Come on, this!

Yuki pointed to the ground with an incisive voice color.

There were several footprints. It belongs to a carnivore, with sharp claws.

"I just got this."

With a rare and serious look, Yuki follows in her footsteps. Footprints on the rustling sand easily collapsed and disappeared.

Which means that the owner of this footprint will still be nearby.

By the time I realized the signs, I had already been pushed down by those beasts.

The four legs covered in silver hair have sharp claws, as if their owner were claiming to be a fierce carnivore. Its legs, long and thick, have better endurance than its instantaneous power, driving the prey found with a sharp sense of smell around everywhere. The body looked just like the wolf I knew, except for one thing.

They hold down my body in a group and chew on it, not saying my arm, not saying my shoulder, as they throat.

"Ya - don't!

I screamed reflexively but the wolves wouldn't stop moving.

Not good. I'm sorry I got hurt like this......!

I have no choice, if it comes to this then!

"Here, stop it! Your teacher's in trouble!

The girl's voice rang as I tried to roll out my wife's hand.

At the same time, the children who were stretching out on me leave simultaneously, and Yuki stops perfectly the hand that was about to be stretched out to the sword.

"Thank you, thank you, Luca."

I thanked the girl who raised her voice as I caressed her down with relief. He was slow to react because he wasn't willing to kill, but in a few moments Yuki almost cut the children off.

"If you were a teacher, you could have forced yourself to shake it off, right?

Girl - Luca gives me her hand as she tells me in half.

"You know if I did that, I might hurt you, right? And even if these kids bite me, it doesn't just hurt to tickle me."

"The teacher's so sweet, we're all on track."

When she took that hand and got up, Luca swelled that adorable cheek in dissatisfaction. The trick is no different than a human girl's.

… unless the lower body is a wolf.

Is that face, in human terms, like fifteen or six? They should actually live longer, but they also grow slower with longer life spans than people.

Triangular ears stand from the same gap in silver hair as the fur in the lower body. From his hips down he was a wolf with four legs and his fuzzy tail was shaking patterned.

"These people, Rikkosu?

"Yes, half a wolf (Lucoscentaur)."

I nod at Yuki, looking around at the children who looked just like Luca and asking.

They're a werewolf version of Centaur, if that's easy to say. The upper body of a human being is stuck to the part of the wolf's body where it should have its original neck. They, whom I named half a wolf (Lycoscentaurus), lived in herds just like real wolves.

Luca's brother, his sisters always look at me or don't jump at me and bite, but it doesn't just hurt to be jarred. The only thing that looks like a wolf is the lower body and the mouth is human, so if the fangs aren't even as sharp as the real wolf, the biting power isn't strong either.

Unlike the fierce image of wolves in the first place, they are all calm and nostalgic. Properties were closer to dogs than wolves. There has been interaction for a long time, and if you are going to take an international student, they were the first person that came to mind.

"So, Doctor. What can I do for you today?

Luca asks that at a changed pace as she embellishes her siblings clutching to her patsy and rocking tail.

"Er... Luca came to ask me if I could be one of our students"

"Is it true!?

I wasn't even thinking about cutting it out with that in mind.

to my words without any twist, but Luca let her eyes shine.

"After listening to the teacher, I've always wanted to go to school!

Waving his tail at the patties and flourishes, Luca grabs her fist with her chest and recruits her.

"Oh, but..."

But soon his tail was powerless, and his ears above his head were drooling.

"But... I'm sorry. Doctor, I can't go."

"Uh, why is that?

Yuki gives an unsatisfactory voice to Luca, who leans down.

"'Cause I have to take care of these kids"

Luca sadly said so, stroking the heads of her little siblings.

"…… No way, your parents."

Luca agrees with the continuation of words that can also be spoken.

They, Lycoscentaurs, make settlements around ten people and each live in such a way that no territory is worn. Young people in the settlements learn to hunt while the elderly take care of them, eventually creating new herds.

Even though Luca would still be on your side to take care of her...

"Nevertheless, why the hell is that?

Lycoscentaurs belong to a considerable number of strong people in the ecosystem. Anyway, it combines the power of a wolf with the wisdom of a man. There's no reason to be weak.

Of course, there are 50,000 stronger creatures in this world who are giants of dragons, but it is not unusual to say that all their parents will die.

"Lately, I haven't been able to get any rice at all, so..."

"Leave you guys?

"Yes, I went far away…………"

To a story so painful, I accidentally held my eyebrows back.

"So, are you guys eating properly?

Luca shakes her head as she sifts.

"I'm hungry…………"

The young children pressed their stomachs and complained of hunger.

"Okay."

I snort with determination.

Maybe Nina will give me another novel when I get home.

"I am your……………"

"We're home, Luca!

Be a parent. The moment I tried to say that, I heard a wild voice from behind me.

"Welcome back, Dad! Mother!"

Luca's expression shined all the time, and if you look back, you can see Luca's parents with tons of prey. I knew immediately that my clothes were covered in sand and dust because of my traveling clothes, and that I had traveled a long distance with my legs.

Oh. He's gone a long way, so... physical...

"By the way, Doctor, what was that earlier?

"No, it's nothing."

That's exactly what I said to Luca, who leans her neck adorably.
