The Magus of Genesis

Lesson 15 Four Attributes/Four Elements

"Attributes, there is the idea."

For the first time in a long time, I cut it out as I painted with a stone brush on the tablet.

Writing letters on the surface of a giant tablet brought into the back of the classroom with white and soft wax stone is almost no different than writing on a blackboard with chalk. Although it can be easily erased by wiping with a cloth containing water, it was rarely used in this special classroom. Because the students remember better on the ground.

But all of this, I had to get them to learn with their heads first.

"The idea is that all things in this world are made by a combination of several attributes. The four attributes that are particularly fundamental among them are called the four major attributes. Four things: fire, earth, water, wind."

Describing as he painted paintings of burning flames, hard stones, dripping water, and leaves of trees scattered in the wind, the guiding students all had question marks on their faces.

"For example, creatures are the easiest to understand. The body is flowing with water called blood, breathing the wind, and vomiting, and the flesh eventually returns to the earth, and the chest is lit with the fire of life. No matter which one is missing, the creature dies."

"You think our bodies are made of dirt?

At a time like this, Sig is the first to question it.

"To a large extent, they just say they belong to the soil, not the soil itself. Like blood isn't water itself."

"I learned it from Nina before. The trilogy of matter, right?

The first person I thought of there was Mr. Purple. Should it be called an elf that accumulates bouldering wisdom? She has a great memory. Not only do I remember it well, but I also drew that knowledge very quickly.

"What do you want?"

I'm supposed to be taking the same class, but Lynn twists her neck. From the look on his face, he can't remember Sig and Yuki either.

"Visible as stones and dirt, it's solids that have shapes. It's liquid that looks like water, but has no shape. It's the gas that's invisible and shapeless like the air."

"Ooh, easy to understand!

"Is that what happened………"

"I see."

Lin, Sig and Yuki raised their voices of admiration to Luca, who politely explained. Luca is very good at swallowing and explaining things herself. Maybe Nina's explanation was something harder to understand.

"Yes. Solids, liquids, gases. This corresponds to soil, water and wind as it is. And fire is energy… the very force that warms or moves things. Everything in this world is in our possession."

"Omizu too?

To Lynn's casual question, I was breathtaking. Her ideas are not always tied to something called stereotyping, they are truly free. That's why they often poke at the essence.

"Idiot. Water is water, so it's all about water."

"That's the thing, actually, it's not."

And Sig is the opposite of that. He is truly the owner of genuine sensibility and has a common sense mindset. But that's a difficult quality to obtain. Surprisingly, these two may be a good combination.

"If you warm the water that is liquid, it will be gaseous vapor, and if you cool it, it will be solid ice, right? That means that the water originally included the nature of soil and wind. Add fire to the water and it becomes wind, and vice versa, it becomes dirt. … being able to pull means that there was originally a fire in the water"

"Oh, well. This fire or water is not really about fire or water, it's like color."

Yuki pounds and slaps his hand.

"Color?"

"Yes. Fire is the color of fire, but it's not the fire itself, is it?

"... like I know, like I don't"

I tilted my neck with Sig. Yuki also has quite a unique sensibility. But she's really good at getting the hang of things. Be her, you must have understood.

"… So, what's wrong with the color?

I guess I'm getting tired of explaining it. Sig asked in a slightly irritating manner.

"Yeah. If everything in this world is made of a combination of attributes, then I thought," Well, so is magic. "

"Ah."

You must have noticed. Mr. Zi raised his voice and looked around at his classmates.

"Yeah. As a matter of fact, you guys have been collecting to a certain extent, considering the attributes"

Soaked in the woods, deep elves with dirt and edges.

LUCOSCENTAUROS that sows in the meadows and traces the smell of the wind.

A mermaid who lives in the sea and with water.

Lizardman, who is soaked by volcanoes and familiar with fire.

I have long felt that there would be four attributes deeply involved in the proper administration of magic so that I, the Fire Dragon, could not use any magic about cold air. Until Lynn got the idea before this, though that was a blur.

"Today I'm going to measure the appropriateness of your four attributes."

"Ready, Doctor"

"Yeah, thanks. Thank you, Amata."

I say words of labor to Amata, who breaks her hips correctly at the fold.

A once adorable boy, like a girl who used to look like a yuki, had grown quickly in his back with his less tall sister, transforming him into a fierce young man. The thick, successful arm lightly raises the wooden pillar several times his body and places it in the middle of the school yard.

"But what do you use it for?

I had him prepare a balance of several small barrels and one stone with a big fist. Amata is very clever at her fingertips and assembles them really skillfully, especially when she lets her handle wood. Nor was Lynn's wheelchair broken once since he asked me to make it.

"This, I'm going to use it to measure. Nina, please."

"Mmm."

When I signal Nina, I go back to the dragon and set up the crawl that Mr. Purple left me.

"Fire."

As Nina groaned briefly, a flame rose from her palm and soared high as a pillar.

"Uh, around here, I guess. Yuki, hold Nina's hand."

"Yeah."

The wings float magically without use, and I just lifted the tsubaki crawl to the edge of Nina's flame, asking Yuki to measure the length. Then you go down to the ground and count the number of thorns and you'll see the length of the flame.

"Yeah. Maybe five hundred and sixty centimeters."

"Dr. Nina... Tuesday... five hundred and sixty..."

I'm going to record it with an ink brush on the wooden plate that Luca has in her hand.

"Next, water."

I put the wooden barrel at Nina's feet and wait.

"Water."

As soon as possible, water overflowed from her palm.

"Oops..."

I'll take it in a bucket so I don't spill it.

"Uh, eight hundred...... twenty things I guess"

The barrel is made of ten centimeters long and horizontal height. I mean, it's a thousand cubic centimeters when it's full. One centimeter. One hundred for every accumulation of water. Below that is the proper gauge.

"Water… eight hundred twenty…"

"Next, then, the wind."

I put one leaf in the palm of my hand and offer it in front of Nina.

"Wind."

The wind blows from her fingertips, flying the leaves of the tree.

"Thousand, six hundred. Perfect."

Later, from her feet, you just need to get the distance that the leaves flew. It was hard not to lose sight of the leaves of the trees.

"Last but not least, this is it."

Making a scale was surprisingly easy. I'm going to hang the scale stick from the center strut and hang the cage that serves as a scale dish while adjusting it to match. Put a stone on one side of the balance sheet and an empty bucket on the other side, and you're done.

I was pretty worried about how I measured the earthly attributes. There are only examples of elves being able to grow plants from nowhere, like Nina and Mr. Purple. Or so it seemed impossible to produce dirt. It is also strange that it is easy to create water, fire and wind but not soil, but there is no other way to do it.

"Stone."

That's where I came up with the weight.

Gravity is the power of the earth. The magic of gaining weight would be in the field of dirt.

As soon as Nina casts a verse of the spell, the balance leans heavily.

I'll put water in the other bucket so the balance can catch up.

"Four hundred."

The empty buckets and stones are matched, so the water poured will be as much as the stone has gained weight. A litre of water is almost a kilogram, so you can tell the weight by the amount of water.

"That, Sister Nina, does that mean you're the worst at dirt?

Looking at Luca's recorded figures, Yuki raised her voice.

"No, there's not much point in the difference between the numbers in another attribute. I tried to get a similar value, but it doesn't mean I'm better at bigger."

That's like comparing grip and bounce numbers, if you like.

What I can tell by this is that I'm not good at it among students until I'm full.

"Come on, measure it in whatever order you want. Because fire is mine, water and wind are Nina, and soil is Amata's measure. Just one verse for each of the spells, as Nina just chanted."

The truth is, I feel that using magic without a spell is easier to understand the original local power, but then some students don't activate magic in the first place. So I decided to do it under the rule that it was just a passage.

"Then I'll do it!

The first person to come before me was Lynn.

"Hiya!

From the palm of the palm she raised high, the flame rises with a blurring sound. Although it is a much cuter flame compared to the flame Nina put out......

"Ninety...... no, that's a hundred"

Still, a flame stretched out of her hand, as far as a metre. I knew I could use the magic of the flames, too, but I didn't know it was this far. I just thought I wasn't good at flames because I'm a mermaid living in the water, but that's quite a accomplishment.

"Nice to meet you"

The next person to come was Luca, a slightly nervous face.

"Fire…………!

A small flame gushes from her palm, aligned with water. It's about fifty centimeters long, but it's actually easy to measure because it's stable, unlike the fiercely swinging phosphorus flame.

"Okay, let's go… it's fire"

The third is Mr. Purple. A flame of about thirty centimeters blows out of the pin and the extended index finger. Even the same elves are a lot different from Nina's. Although I don't know if it's a personal difference or the difference in time I've been practicing magic.

I mean, what does it mean that phosphorus, which is deeply related to water, is the best thing that's ever happened?

"Brother, measure and measure!

When I was worried, Yuki jumped right at me. I still can't wipe my consciousness of being a little girl because I do this kind of trick. Well, actually, I'm a lot shorter.

"Fire!

From Yuki's palm, the flames burst with momentum. Despite the intense momentum as if jet injection, the fire is stable. Even if you use the exact same spell, there is a personal difference not only in length but also in the shape and momentum of the fire.

Measured, it's ninety centimeters long. It was in a way that did not reach Lynn at all costs.

"Did you lose to Lynn? -!

Sig was the last one to come, trying to push Yuki over to trample the estate with regret. He has a serious face at no time, wrapping his palms around.

"……… it's fire."

I live in a volcano, get acquainted with fire, and practice every morning. I predict how big a flame will be.

Although.

What appeared there against expectation was a tiny little flame at the fingertips.
