The Magus of Genesis

Lesson 24 Differences/GAP

"Oh, I see it. Is that it?

"Ugh. I still don't see it. Seisei, too good an eye."

A small shadow of an architecture that looks thin across the horizon. Raise your voice to it, and Lynn's dissatisfied words descended from above her head.

"But maybe, I think it fits. This is what the scenery looks like around me... I think it was."

Her words are not very confident. Still in this age, though, much of the earth remains natural, and there are not so many settlements inhabited by people. Villages of such a magnitude as can be seen from this distance would not be so rare.

village. Yes, it was a good size settlement to call a village.

Seven hundred years I have taught the people of the village of Hiiro the word.

Although it is a long month, it is also short if we consider that civilization has progressed from primitive times to ancient levels in the meantime. It took tens of thousands of years, in the history of the planet.

It is strange that so many civilizations are developing in other regions.

Even if the area of the village of Hiiro was lagging behind, there is one puzzling point.

At first Lynn was called a monster and was said to have been stoned.

- That, undoubtedly, is Japanese. It's a language now called Hiiro in this world.

You can say that the possibility that the humans in the village of Hiiro happen to have arrived is almost nil. Because this village is just off the sea from the village of Hiiro.

Sailing technology still doesn't exist, so unless you can fly in the sky like Lynn or me, you can't get there.

It was too unnatural for humans in this village to use Hiiro.

"Well, it's time to get down,"

"Yeah."

As we approach the village, we lower altitude and try to hide in the woods. I land. If we say that non-human beings will be persecuted, we must approach them as human beings. The dragon's appearance was too conspicuous, so it was necessary to walk from that distance.

"Well, let's go."

Lynn, similarly human, snorts at me carrying a large backpack to disguise myself as a traveler. Her magic of transformation was so advanced that Nina couldn't even imitate it. It was hard inside to forgive her for insisting that she should be able to hide her ears with a hood or hair.

We arrived at the village half a day later. It was around the time when the sun was going down and the sky began to stain red.

"Oh, traveler, here we are again."

Lynn smiled and waved to the villagers she met as she stepped into the village.

"Which one?

"Nice to meet you. My name is Lyo and I'm Lynn's husband. I asked to thank and greet my wife for taking care of me in this village."

I carefully bow down as I try to contain my anxiously squeaking heart.

"Oh well, traveler's! You didn't say that at all when you came here! You can't even put a traveler on the edge. Hey, catch a beauty like this."

I accidentally clapped out of that friendly attitude. That trick, which flickers her hand like a whimsical slap in the void, is just an old lady. When I heard of a village persecuting outsiders, I imagined a more slaughtered place.

"It's getting dark already, and you're at Atashi's house. Let me tell you another fun story."

I heard that if you look like a person, you were welcome. I heard, but this is more welcome than I thought.

We stayed at that aunt's house as she was advised to be gooey without saying no or responding, and she behaved like a hand cook and asked her husband and children to talk about her journey.

At first, I was wary that maybe even some kind of medicine was planted in the dish, and I was totally relieved by their rustic character, which was dawn clear and unrelenting, and by the slightest alcohol, and much excited as I talked about the strange animals and plants I'd seen and heard so far.

"I'm sorry we only have rooms like this. Sometimes customers don't come from outside."

"No, this is the one, I'm sorry I suddenly pushed you to occupy the room"

After the sun had set abundantly, it was obviously the couple's room that was appreciated by us.

Their house isn't even big enough, and besides the couple's room there's just a living room with a kitchenette and a room for the kids.

I won't be in the wild. I appreciate it... but I stared at Lynn's face unexpectedly. She said, "What's going on?" But I tilt my little neck.

Problem is, there's only one bed.

I guess they didn't even question doing so because they named themselves husband and wife.

I decided to say Lynn's husband simply because it was easy to explain and not to be suspicious.

Your face and hair color are too different to say brothers and sisters, and you look too close to your age when it comes to your brother. This is a simple reason why it would be easier to say a couple of streets than a young man or woman would just call themselves traveling companions, and that it would be easier to make a point of visiting the village again.

... well, okay. Lynn and I have been dating since she was a young child. There's nothing like sleeping in the same bed now.

"It's nothing. Shall we just go to bed for now?"

It's been a long time since I've walked a long distance and I'm very tired.

As I lay in bed, Lynn opened her eyes wide in surprise.

"What's going on?

When asked, she shakes her head with a boom. I got up and took her hand in a slow motion, pulling her closer.

"Maybe we're embarrassed together?

Even though there are doors that separate the room from the room, you can't expect it to be soundproofing due to clutter. Lynn snorted as she leaned her mouth against her ear and heard her whisper.

"That being said, there is no other bed, and bear with me."

The size of the bed itself is not a double size, or a cramped size for two people to sleep side by side. It's as crude as having fur on a wooden frame, but it should be a lot better than sleeping on the floor.

As I lay in bed again, Lynn comes next to me like she reluctantly said. I thought so, and it rounded me up as if to turn my back on me.

Hmmm...... even though we used to take a bath together. In the darkness, staring at Lynn's back rounded, I feel like I see my parent-separated daughter.

"Good night, Lynn"

"Mmm..."

Hearing a small groaning reply, I let go of consciousness either from tiredness or immediately.

"Thank you for your time today."

"No, as long as it's fun to listen outside the village."

I stayed overnight with Lynn, the day after that.

I decided to ask someone from the village to talk to the village chief.

I will tell you the story that I heard and went around almost, and I will tell you the food that I am going to do instead, and the story in that village. That explains why we're traveling. If you say so, it's like a wandering newspaper reporter.

Honestly, I don't like talking funny and funny, but that's where I have the experience and track record of working as a teacher for hundreds of years. It was not indispensable for funny stories, and everything was good that I wanted to tell the stories I had heard from my students in the past as they were. I really appreciate the memory of a dragon that I can recall accurately without having to prepare a script.

"No, it was a really interesting story. I haven't felt so happy in a long time."

He liked Nina's episode, among others. I lay low that she was an elf and cut off all her stories. Some of them were embarrassing... well, this is also for information-gathering. I'm sure she'll forgive me too.

- I don't mind telling you I did that in the first place.

"But you're in trouble. There's no such thing as a funny story we can give back."

"No, it's nothing. It's any story. For example... Well, how did this village come to be?"

"Is that a good idea to talk about?

The village chief leans his neck wonderfully. Well, sure, it's not like we're talking about it in a rough way.

Instead of saying, "Yes... my destiny is actually there. The words we use are the same, right? Actually, this is very unusual. Normally, they use different words if they live in different places."

"Oh. Sure... the monsters say things that we don't understand."

The village chief flaunts his face and groans abominably.

A monster is probably an elf. To my knowledge, the only species that had acquired language on their own were the Elves and Dragons. Neither Centaur, nor Mermaid, nor Lizard Man... nor Giants or Little Fairies, nor Humans, had enough culture to be called words until I taught them.

"We are traveling home… in search of our own ancestors. It doesn't seem to be this village, but I don't think it has anything to do with it."

"There's a slight difference in our language."

To the words of the village chief, I nod. Yes, the language of the people in this village is definitely Japanese, but there was a subtle difference from that I use.

Intonation, usage, idioms in the first place, etc. are terminally uncomfortable.

The woman who let me stay at home yesterday said she couldn't "put it on the edge" about Lynn. But that's not exactly "I can't put it in the corner". "Beauty" is not the kind of word to use on me, which is usually a man, either.

It makes sense, but it's hard to say the exact same word. It was such a subtle difference.

"This is a story that's been passed down from generation to generation, and I heard it from my father, too."

The village chief so foreshadowed and began to speak.

"Anything our ancestors originally didn't have a word for it. On the contrary, he said he had no house, had little tools to use, and was a monkey with no fire. But one time, a wizard came and taught us words and magic."

While gesturing and gesturing, the village chief speaks in a feverish tone.

"The Wizard… We call it the Beginning Wizard."

That was kind of a familiar story.
