The Magus of Genesis

Lesson 8: Drifting/Settle

"Come, Doctor, have a drink!

"Ha..."

As the night book descends, the fire is set ablaze, and the villagers sing and dance.

I felt so uncomfortable with the liquor handed to me by the village chief.

It doesn't taste so bad, but...

"You're a bad alcoholic, so you don't drink too much."

"I know, I know."

Nina sitting next door whispers.

"Teacher, please try this one"

Trying to push her over, the silver-haired woman we helped - they say Hannah - poked out a plate with the dish on it.

"I can't believe I'm really a teacher, I can't even think about it... and I feel like I'm destined to help you where it's dangerous."

"No, it was Yuka who helped me."

I answer as I draw my body from Hannah, who is following me closely for some reason.

"No. The bravery of the teacher at that time... the way he ran the white horse and defeated the great ghosts with ease... I've never known that the word 'Prince of the White Horse' really existed."

At least you're not a prince.

There is no royalty in the village of Hiiro...

There are no horses in this world. The very existence of a horse, though, seemed to pass on as a fictional being, as I thus slipped my mouth or something. If you say so, it's like Pegasus or Unicorn in a previous life.

The Prince of the White Horse is like that subspecies, well, what I call a dragon is a fantastic being.

"Besides, I can't believe it's that 'teacher'... I just think this is destiny already"

Are you listening to me or not, Hannah, with an inadvertent look.

"Well... I was surprised, too. I can't believe this is where the sword department village is."

According to the village chiefs, this village… The village of Shirogane is a village where Hiseri, the sword ministry that once left the village of Hiiro, took centre stage. Me and Nina, we remember her very well. As a sword ministry, she had rare silver hair and was a child with a strong exploratory mind. The effect, or there are many silver-haired people in this village as well.

What a mind-boggling story that Hesseli had forgotten about me for so long, although I think he did leave the village about three hundred years ago.

…… so to speak.

"Yes. Golden eyes on red hair. Strong, wise, beautiful... and gentler than anyone, our firedragon. My ancestors spoke and listened."

Unlike everyone else in the village of Hiiro, I haven't known them since I was a child. What an uncomfortable thing to be unilaterally known and praised by a stranger.

I feel that Yuka, who noticed her crisis in the first place, and who is also a member of the sword department, should be held back more than me, but the person seemed to concentrate on eating and drinking without looking like he cared at all.

"……… Hey."

Nina looks around and asks Hannah.

"Is this everyone in this village?

That was something I was concerned about, too. Apparently, they are able to accomplish it in the village as a whole, but there are a lot fewer people for that. A few dozen or a little over a hundred...... that's all there would be. Even given the size of the walls surrounding the village, it is a reasonable number of people.

But that seemed too little for a village that had lasted three hundred years.

"Right, I think pretty much everyone...... what happened to that?

To Hannah's answer, Nina's expression is slightly distorted. It's a small change, like I realize because I've been dating a long time.

"…… Nothing."

Hee, and Nina hold her mouth and distract her gaze. Even though Hannah seems strange about her attitude, she tries to come to me and recommend other dishes.

"Dad."

There, Cruse broke in and hugged me.

"I'm getting kind of sleepy."

"Oh, yeah? Then it's time to open up."

Thanks for your help, but if you stroke Cruse's head with the will, she would close her eyes. I know you were going to wink, but it's adorable that you're meditating on both eyes.

Cruse, essentially, doesn't need to sleep. He says he feels tired for once, and sleeps with us at night, but he never feels naturally drowsy. I mean, he helped me after he sensed I was in trouble.

"Oops......?

Hannah caught her face when she heard what Cruse had to say.

"Grandma, let's go to bed together -"

"You're right."

And that becomes decisive in the ensuing call to Nina.

"Oh, um... what is this girl..."

"She's my proud daughter and Nina's. You have beautiful hair mixed with gold and red, don't you?

In fact, genetics doesn't seem to change much in this world either, and I don't mix that up. Well, you don't have any other dragon and elf kids, and what I said wins.

"Mm-hmm. Are you done, brother? Then I'll go to bed too."

Yuka returns with a dish containing dishes. As Lynn looked around to see where she would have said it, she hugged the little blue cat as she slept at Cruse's feet. I don't know, I think we only have my-paced kids.

We rented one empty house and were to spend the night there. Though I'm also a lot used to wild boarding houses on my journey, I appreciate being able to bathe in water for a long time and sleep in a soft bed.

"So..."

After enjoying plenty of bathing, I sat in bed and asked Nina to dry my hair.

"What did Nina care?

"There's no old man, this village."

She answers that as she breathes water and depressingly lifts the hair hanging on her shoulders on her weights.

"If you ask me…………………"

The mayor of the village was also in his late thirties at best, and I didn't see anything older than him. Hannah also said 'almost everyone', so the elderly may not have been at the festival, but I feel it would be nice to have someone a little older.

"I mean... I don't have Mr. Nina in this village, so the average life expectancy is very short, do you mean?

"I'm not that complacent. Besides, medical technology doesn't seem that low."

To the words of Cruse, Nina sweeps her neck aside.

"At the corner of the village, there was a field of medicinal herbs. It wasn't that big, but it wasn't a bad kind, and it was all difficult to formulate. At least I have a good medic."

You can assume that what she calls' quite 'is a fair amount of skill. Even so, when were you checking that out?

"I don't think it's very expensive technically, though. I haven't seen a wooden house in a while."

Concon, and fist the wall, Yuka. Indeed, there are most brick houses in Hiiro Village today, and there are not many wooden buildings. It's just left in an old house. Though it's not impossible for her to make that decision...

"I don't think so. Sure, it's simple, but it's well organized. Besides, it's the bathroom. Compared to our bath, you didn't feel so good about it, did you? There's a lot of advanced technology to make that one."

Bath history is the history of technology. Depending on the technological capabilities available in the era, its potential is as if it were different. From just a water bath to a steam bath, to a public bath in a doorway bath, to an iron gun bath in a Goemon bath, etc.

I'm glad to say that being able to make an inner bath in the house this way is the most developed of them all.

This means that this little village is not so different from Hiiro Village either. It doesn't make a difference for at least a hundred or two years.

"Hmm...... I don't know, well, that's not good. It's not like it's harmful to us, is it?

"Ah, yes. Gentlemen, you have welcomed us purely. Some of them were a little excessive……"

If Yuka jumps in on the bed with a pong and says it, Cruse turns a blind eye to me. It must be about Hannah. I'm not sure why they missed me so much, but maybe it would be like that if I actually ran into a character in a fairy tale.

I didn't feel hostile either, and if that's the kind of Krusei who can read Yuka and Soul colors that are twice as sensitive to people, I guess he's really welcoming and staying with me without any backs.

"Lynn is already asleep. I'm going to bed."

Yuka rolled over the bed as she hugged Lynn all the way round in the cat's appearance.

"Well, shall we sleep too?"

Blow out the flame of the lamp that was illuminating the room and we dive into bed too.

... I'm used to traveling. If Lynn was awake, maybe she would have answered our discomfort.

With that in mind, he closed his eyes and his consciousness quickly entered his dreams.
