The Magus of Genesis

Lesson 2 Relics/relics

"Whoa, it's open."

Making noise, the door with the key plugged in opens.

That was the key to Innis's house that he was given with him the last time he shook his hand.

"Wow..."

In the tragedy inside, Yuki raises her voice. The whole Innis house was rough enough to think that even thieves had entered.

"I don't think it was like this when I came here."

"That's what Ala was cleaning up. Mr. Innis, it seems like you're alone."

To the grunting Lynn, Cruse answers.

"... I don't think she died cleaning the house."

Nobody laughed at Nina's jokes. Because I thought it might be.

"You were right to bring cleaning tools. Cleaning, Starting"

I guess it was a sight I couldn't stand my beautiful favorite eye. As she quickly wears her cooking clothes, she sets up a bucket and a mop to storm into the house.

"… I'll take care of the cleaning. Shall we go to the test?"

We didn't just visit Innis' house this time because nothing came to put an end to her self-depraved life. She would have built up in that lifetime, to recover many of her demonic motives.

Some of them will be dangerous or threatened with abuse. But it was not hard to imagine that such a thing was also left unconstitutional.

"You said you made an inventory, so look for something that looks like it."

"Can you guess that?

If we look at the squalid situation in this House, it is not impossible for Lynn to see it with skepticism.

"Mr. Innis, that place was solid, so I think it's okay"

Faster than I answer, Cruse followed.

"You said you'd forget if you didn't write it on paper."

"Oh, I see………………………."

Because he's a writer himself on paper, Lynn is convinced to hit the search.

"If this is all messed up, I wonder if I'll lose that written paper too"

Meanwhile, the interior of the room prefers something simple, and Yuki pinches up her undressed jacket and smiles.

"Father! Gentlemen! This... This, look!

As he continued to clean and look for the inventory, Cruise quickly raised his voice from upstairs.

"What's wrong? Is something wrong?

"Ei, Ei,"

When we climb the stairs and show our faces upstairs, we say so and Cruse invites us, so he asks Eye to stop the cleaning hand and we all go to Cruse.

"What. Even Innis was alive?

Nina asks me that, but that's certainly the only way I can think of to get everyone together. If you found an inventory, you shouldn't even have to call me an eye trying to clean it.

"Pfft... now is the time to say such a subtle and careless joke."

I don't want you to tell me, but with a faint look on Nina's face, Cruse stripped away the cloth that was on the canvas.

"Bye!

We lose words in the painting that was painted there.

"This... picture, is it...?

"Sounds like it... I can't believe it."

Photographs and all around, realistic and elaborate paintings. But the brush marks on the cloth stretched out on the wooden frame. That, indeed, was an oil painting.

But what surprised us was not its sophistication, but its content.

"This is us…… right?"

"Yeah. Definitely."

I nodded at Eye's question.

"It's a painting from our wedding."

What was depicted there was some pitiful looking man in a red tuxedo and five girls laughing happily dressed in a pure white dress.

"I remember. They told me to line up. No."

"There you are. That moment."

When Innis told me to line up, there was an act of mystery that immediately told me enough or something. I have no idea how she did that moment, but she must have cut it off and painted it.

"If you look at it like this,"

Yuki looked at the painting with a shine, I said.

"Totally, Ku only looks like your wife, too."

"Is it true!? Could Cruse also be the daughter-in-law of an old man? Yay!

Indeed, if you look only at the painting, Cruse is also completely wearing a wedding dress, and it doesn't look that way.

"I didn't, just my clothes! You must have made it out of your own annoyance that you were the only one who got rid of it!

All the dresses were handmade by Nina, spinning and weaving the same moon yarn as the one she first made for the eye. It also seemed to take a lot of effort to make a single outfit, and Nina, reluctantly, had Krusei weave it with a long blur.

Well, Nina is pretty sweet on Cruse, so I don't have to say that all the time. I think she wove it...

"Hey."

Lynn, who magically changed to look like a squirrel, climbs up my leg, rides on my shoulder, and tilts his little neck.

"That, what is it?

I thought maybe I turned into a little bird and rode right on top of the painting and turned my gaze to the back.

"Is that it?"

Beyond the easel with the canvas secured. There's a big box buried in the back of the room. There was a slight blue light leaking out of the box.

"Is it some kind of demonic motive……………"

Even so, it's weird.

The magic of this world is exercised by will. That's the same thing about activating demonic motives.

Simply put, there is no such thing as "demonic motive to move on its own."

It's hard to even think that one of us here moved it.

Because there are two possibilities. Whether the demonic motive activated by Innis is still working or someone is inside that box.

"……… For once, stay back."

The box was large enough for each person. The possibility that someone is sneaking in and lurking cannot be abandoned either.

I pull my coat up to my neck and unpack the baggage on the box. In the unlikely event of an unexpected occurrence of its own, this coat should prevent more or less.

"……… I'll open it."

Speak up, I put my hand on the handle of the box. Eye nodded with a serious look, and Nina stood to shelter Kruset, whose Kruset held the earlier painting as if it mattered. Yuki looks like she's just standing casually, but her instantaneous power is in between putting her into my help in one step. Lynn... if you notice, she was lurking in my sleeve looking like a little snake.

I open that box made of wood out of thought.

"… of a woman, child…………?

It was there... No, it was a girl.

When I say it at my age, is it something like sixteen or seven? She was such a beautiful girl that she accidentally breathed, waving her long purple hair. The necklace down on its chest glows blue.

"…… doll?

Lynn faces out of her sleeve and squeals. Indeed, the beauty of the girl was human apart. Nina the Elf is also quite beautiful, but it is also a different kind, that is the perfect beauty like a doll. It was an even, inorganic beauty.

"Looks like it."

When I touch the cheek gently, it feels calm and cold. It doesn't even feel like a corpse. Soft but different from people's skin, it's a crop.

That's what I thought, about the moment.

The doll's eyes slowly open and those empty eyes stare at me.

- And then.

"Good morning, Master."

With a bell-like voice, he greeted me that way.
