The Marquis’ Daughter Acts As A Pawn
125 stories, faith and madness.
After a gorgeous feast. To perform a ritual dedicated to God, Gustave, a mentor in the real power of the Diaghilev Empire, was visiting the Emperor's bedroom.
Emperor Seraphim, suffering from the odd disease of brittle blood vessels and more susceptible to bleeding, lies in bed with a pale face. Empty his silver-gray eyes just look up at Gustave.
But to Gustave, I know Emperor Seraphim has a grudge against himself.
"Then, Your Majesty. Let the ritual begin."
When the sandalwood fragrance oil is removed, Gustave paints it on the forehead and hands and feet of Emperor Seraphim.
The sweet scent ideal for brainwashing fills the bedroom. Gustave uttered the wording of prayer and prayed to the God of battle and flame, to which the Diaghilev Empire believed.
"Now you're all right. God has burned down His Majesty's disease."
Gustave said with a gentle smile that also felt fatherly, but Emperor Seraphim looked slightly.
"... bullshit. You know best that the rest of the disease will never heal. This bloody usurper."
"Your majesty is still strong, even though your mother's brainwashing went very easily. Is it because of the emperor's blood muscles? Your body is brittle and you can't resist satisfaction, but your mind is like a fortress on an iron wall."
"... I'm not gonna die a busy death."
Gustave laughed bitterly as he received the contemptuous gaze of Emperor Seraphim. I can't feel the serenity on that face until now.
"You're in a terrible mood today, Your Majesty. Again, didn't you like the feast traveler? I'm here to cheer up Your Majesty, but if you can't do your part... kill me."
"Stop it! Kiko the unrelated people - Gohhhhh... Gofokkaha"
When Emperor Seraphim coughed, he blossomed with blood on a pure white sheet.
Gustave forces his suffering face toward himself.
"You are powerless. So I could not stop your mother's assault, nor forgive my leaps, nor protect my sisters. His Majesty the Emperor of the Name only."
"... Ku, Ugh, Ugh"
Emperor Seraphim weeps, distorting his face with remorse. I desperately push my voice to death, but enough to please Gustave.
"Oh...... I didn't know that God's servant priestly self could shed tears of humiliation in the way of honor. Holy shit, misfortune! Oh, my God, it's an honor! After all, God does not bless or judge man...!
Gustave, while a priest, had doubts about the existence of God.
The Church says that if we believe in the God of battle and flame, we can be happy, that man is given equal love by birth to God.
But reality is different from God's faith.
The peasant girl, who was a soothing devout believer, was sold to lip service. The young man, who had prayed to God before heading to war, casually lost his life on the battlefield.... The merchant, who had publicly declared that faith and other shit would not help, had enormous wealth and power to extremes the prosperity of life.
I can't run out of doubts about God, but I can't get an answer.
(Is there really a God? Or an idol created by man?
God of battle and flame does not forgive pagans. Gustave thought that if he acted differently from the doctrine, the judgment would come down in touch with God's wrath and would be a proof of existence.
At the same time, he also considered the possibility that the presence of the God of battle and flame was an idol. Gustave therefore decided to accomplish a feat beyond his intelligence in preparation for that possibility. To make sure that people don't get lost, that they become new gods and signposts.
- It was all Gustave who raised the orphan into a private soldier who manipulated him, took over the country, and waged a war of aggression to prove the existence of God.
(Some concerns, such as revolutionary government, have treasonous ideologies... but there is no way we can be enemies of a nation to gather the thought of an elephant)
He missed the oppression of the aristocracy and sold favors, squeezing taxes out of the folk grass and taking away the strength and strength to rebel. So no one tries to drag Gustave down from the Emperor's guardian.
There's no way a revolutionary government born of such folk grass can take on a country with luxurious weapons and abundant | human (resources) resources.
"Oh, don't cry so much. It sounds to you. Though there are substitute witches, it would be more convenient for His Majesty to live a little longer. It's hard to hide until the emperor's death."
"Avrola, don't put your hands on my sister...!
Changing from his pathetic crying face earlier, Emperor Seraphim glanced at Gustave with his reddish eyes.
Unlike the neighbouring Kingdom of Samorta, the royal family of the Diaghilev Empire is not regarded as sacred. But the royal family reigns at the apex of the people and can be considered the closest man to God. I wonder why, even if he thinks he has succumbed, Emperor Seraphim shows his fangs at regular times.
"... Hmm. Again, the thing called king is interesting. How many kings and pagans will the God of battle and flame reveal himself? Isn't this faster to be my new God?
Blessings or acquittals. I want proof of the existence of 'God'. Gustave thinks no one is as eager for God as he is.
Gustave opens his mouth to try to give Emperor Seraphim more of a taste of humiliation, but he swallowed it by the inches as a polite knock sounded in his bedroom.
"... Your Highness. It's pathetic to abuse your majesty."
Entering the bedroom without Emperor Seraphim's permission was a cool looking young man with dark hair. On his cheek is a residue of an old wound or a convulsive line running.
"This is Rodion. You arrived earlier than planned."
"I really didn't want to go through the front line, but I had no choice but to do so on the orders of the Master. Rodion Belinski is back from the invasion of the Kingdom of Rolands."
Rodion Belinski is the strongest samurai anyone can recognize, giving him the rank of general in the Diagilev Imperial Army. For Gustave, he is the greatest handkerchief ever raised in an operative-trained orphanage.
Gustave nodded contentedly when he saw Rodion, but Emperor Seraphim turned his face bright blue.
"... What is the battle against the Kingdom of Rolands? I haven't heard anything else......!
"Everyone in this castle knew that our Diagilev Empire had invaded the Kingdom of Rolands... apparently, there was a difference in information going"
When Gustave said so in white, he laughed with his nose at Emperor Seraphim, who was flashing.
"It is time for me to excuse you, Your Majesty. We need to talk to Rodion about the future of the Diaghilev Empire."
The carriage carrying the second prince of the Kingdom of Rolands, who called for the rapprochement conference, was discovered near the border and in a disastrous state. Traces of gunpowder and chopped bridges also remain colorful in contention, but the body has not yet been discovered on either the Diagilev Empire side or the Rolands Kingdom side.
(... odd thing. I didn't know any assassins would return, even though I let them attack me in enough numbers to slaughter one carriage for sure)
Confront it, make sure the assassins you hire are working some kind of betrayal, and you have to work out measures. In case the second prince feared that he was hiding, he searched for a man with empty eyes in his silver hair, but he had not found those who wanted him.
"Then, Your Majesty. Pray to God so you can have a good dream."
Before closing the door, he heard the cries of a helpless emperor, but Gustave left the room without looking back.
