Chapter 134 - 131: The Most Talented Secret Realm Weaver
Doudou bounced right over and took the Red Demoness by the hand, making Su Su, who was standing to the side, unbearably jealous.
’This little thing is so cute, but no matter how many times I try to be nice to him, he just gives me the cold shoulder. Why is he so nice to the Red Demoness?!’
Sister Su had once again overlooked Doudou’s possible true age.
"You really are the Red Demoness, right? Do you still remember how you died?"
Alright, Su Su was taking back her previous assessment of Doudou.
The question made Qin Xiaoxia’s eye twitch. Only Mumu and Doudou looked on with pure curiosity.
As for the Red Demoness herself, perhaps she was unusually tolerant of Doudou, or perhaps her way of expressing emotion was simply different from a normal human’s.
A faint smile appeared on her face as she answered the impolite question in a gentle voice.
"Yes, I remember."
"It was on the reefs of the Gorgeous Sea Shore. I sang to the sea for the last time. My eyes were gouged out and my heart was carved from my chest. Then, I lay in the path of the tide and met my end."
The story gave Su Su goosebumps.
"It’s all in the past, it’s all in the past... Nobody bring this up again... Especially you, Doudou!"
She shot a warning look at the Mischievous Elf.
The elf mumbled in protest, "You’re not Big Bro."
"Alright, that’s enough of this topic. You no longer need to seek Comir’s help for what you once desired. You’re in a new world now. Trust me, your life is about to become very new and interesting."
Qin Xiaoxia took a few steps closer, sensing the strange yet powerful, hybrid Magic Power emanating from the Red Demoness. For this special energy, which should only appear in an Image of Order, to manifest in a living "person" was likely an unprecedented event.
"I have a way to help you adapt to your new body more quickly. It involves fully channeling the Magic Power inside you to accelerate the fusion between your newborn soul and this unique physical form."
Their recent moment of shared inspiration had also been unique. Having possibly brushed against the Side of Truth, Qin Xiaoxia now understood the Red Demoness’s current condition even better than she did herself.
"Come, take a look."
He pointed at the illusory boundary of the Secret Realm.
Even without its core, the unshattered Secret Realm still appeared as an illusory, wavering, magical scene to one’s Magic Perception. Flickering points of starlight would periodically flow over the Secret Realm like a great tide.
All of this gave the Red Demoness a comforting sense of familiarity.
From the way the Red Demoness’s Magic Power radiated out as a form of Perception, Qin Xiaoxia knew she could indeed control the special energy within her body.
"This used to be your... uh, the domain you controlled before you were resurrected. Now, it’s become extremely fragile. Would you be willing to help me? To try and restore the Secret Realm?"
The Red Demoness looked around the Secret Realm, then turned her gaze to the man—the one she didn’t know whether to call Master, or by his name, or by some other, more fearsome title.
"Yes, I am."
She lifted a strand of her long hair, letting it drift through her fingers. Her movements were far less rigid than before. As she did so, she gave Qin Xiaoxia a playful wink.
"For... the Dawn!"
’Holy shit! So much for being out of it!’
Contrary to the newborn, toddler-like state that Su Su and the others had imagined, the Red Demoness had only seemed clumsy because she was still unaccustomed to her body. She hadn’t forgotten the memories from her previous life and naturally recalled everything that had happened since this Secret Realm was first woven.
With the formation of a true soul, she had regained her own ability to think, her wisdom, and her emotions. Combined with the understanding of new concepts gained from their moment of shared inspiration, she was now able to grasp many things.
So, just as Qin Xiaoxia was suddenly realizing, though the Red Demoness’s soul was as pure as ever, she was no fool.
Walking to the edge of the Secret Realm, the Red Demoness gently placed her hand on the dreamlike boundary, closing her eyes to carefully perceive it.
She was intimately familiar with every aspect of this Secret Realm, from its Techniques to its very structure; at one point, it had been an extension of her very being.
It was no exaggeration to say that if one were to rank beings from all worlds based on their understanding of Secret Realms, the Red Demoness would easily be in the top ten—even when including the Ancient Fairy who, countless ages ago, had unintentionally created the Secret Realm Technique in the first place.
There was no Shaping Material, not even any Magic Language.
Qin Xiaoxia saw faint halos of light from the Technique flare up across the ground of the entire Secret Realm. A dense, crisscrossing network of the Technique’s engraved lines covered the vast area.
One could only imagine that its complexity far surpassed the original version.
From the palm of the Red Demoness’s hand where it touched the Secret Realm Wall, a halo of particulate Magic Power flashed into existence. It expanded outwards in a ring at incredible speed, circling the entire Secret Realm in an instant.
The Red Demoness opened her eyes. Her pupils, crimson with a hint of orchid blue, shone with the light of Magic Power.
FWOOSH—
The Order Magic Power within her surged to life, and countless Magic Silk Threads materialized in the Secret Realm’s sky.
They intertwined and wove together, threading through the original network of the Secret Realm. Patches of extraordinary color flowed through every newly formed region.
The refracted light filled the air with a psychedelic quality.
"Whoa," Doudou muttered. "Is this Secret Realm on Comir’s Order of Truth side, or Windsor’s Illusory side?"
Doudou muttered to himself, his eyes wide. Mumu, beside him, subconsciously nodded in agreement. As for Su Su, who had never witnessed and couldn’t even imagine Secret Realm Weaving, she was completely and utterly dumbfounded.
’Interesting. Very interesting!’
In contrast to the overwhelmed trio, Qin Xiaoxia appeared far more professional.
As a reasonably competent Secret Realm Weaver, with what was arguably the highest mastery of Magic Power present, he also possessed a special affinity for the kindred power within the Red Demoness.
He was the one best equipped to appreciate the brilliance of the Red Demoness’s weaving.
It wasn’t merely a repair; it was more like the fusion and upgrade of a dual-layered Secret Realm, one that contained constantly evolving new elements.
Filled with confidence, he brought out Endless Abyss. Magic Power surged through his right arm, and the long whip erupted in purple flames.
Qin Xiaoxia recalled a crude, off-the-cuff remark from an artist he’d once met in an online game.
"Sometimes, the spark of inspiration hits you just like that. If I’m taking a crap, I’ve got to pinch it off and rush back to the studio!"
With a flick of his wrist, the flaming whip shot toward the apex of the Secret Realm like a dancing shadow.
"Mimo-saaa~"
With just a light touch, it branded a circular symbol as if with a hot iron.
The long whip danced at Qin Xiaoxia’s whim, its reach stretching out as if it were endless. It became a blur of afterimages, tapping lightly—like a dragonfly skimming the surface of water—on countless points all across the Secret Realm.
Halos of light from various circular, transformative symbols flared to life one after another.
Whenever the Red Demoness’s countless woven Magic Silk Threads encountered one of these halos, they would wrap around it, refracting innumerable symbols within the halo’s empty space—like miniature versions of the Technique itself.
The moment the symbols filled a halo, purple flames would flare up, crystallizing everything. In its place, a smooth, crystal-clear mirror would remain.
The Red Demoness and Qin Xiaoxia worked in perfect sync, like two master artists. While focusing on their own tasks, they would periodically add flourishes to their shared creation.
The countless mirrors glittered like stars, and the surging web of the Secret Realm Weaving moved like the tides of the Void.
For Su Su, whose understanding of Magic Power was still shallow, her only thought was that her Mentor and the Red Demoness were terrifyingly powerful. She could do nothing but watch in absolute awe.
Doudou held his breath, not daring to make a sound. Mumu’s reaction was even more exaggerated—its carved, anthropomorphic wooden face bulged, two huge wooden knots popping out to form its eyes.
’What kind of Secret Realm is this? How are they doing this? Or rather, what exactly are they even doing?’
The Secret Realm’s transformation was proceeding in a direction the two Elves couldn’t possibly comprehend. Never mind them; even Qin Xiaoxia and the Red Demoness, the Weavers at the center of it all, didn’t know where this path would lead.
They were simply following their instincts, pouring round after round of their own inspiration and ideas into the creation.
Yes, just a moment ago, Qin Xiaoxia had realized the Red Demoness was, in essence, "creating."
Wielding the power from the Side of Truth gave her the incredible support needed for this preposterous act of making it up as she went along.
Through his connection to that same power, Qin Xiaoxia was also able to glimpse its secrets and even let his own inspiration blossom.
’Since that’s the case, how could someone like me, who has the power to join in, possibly miss out on something so interesting?’
Due to the continuous, rhythmic interaction of their Magic Powers, the Secret Realm’s connection to the outside world had long since ceased.
The sunlight vanished. The phantasmal images of the outside world disappeared. The interior was now a magical, ever-changing landscape of bizarre and kaleidoscopic light.
The sky, the ground, even the world beneath—everything was more magical than it had been a moment ago.
The Red Demoness was silent, but an increasingly natural smile graced her face. Qin Xiaoxia, however, constantly chanted in the Magic Language, his words serving as the perfect finishing touch for each new, crucial transformation.
Only when the aura of Magic Power within their bodies began to wane did all of this magical activity start to subside.
"F-F... Freaking amazing!"
Mumu’s patch of Thorns had involuntarily shrunk into a ball while it watched, and the words that tumbled from its mouth were its truest thoughts.
Doudou was so stunned he couldn’t even speak, unconsciously dropping the fruit the Red Demoness had given him.
Because Su Su understood so little, she simply felt the exhilarating thrill of watching a fantasy blockbuster. There were no actors and no convoluted plot, but it contained a dazzling spectacle that ordinary people could never comprehend.
P.S. Second Chapter of the day.
