The Only Cultivator in a World of Hunters

Chapter 119: Emily Comes to the Hospital

Mia’s worry wasn’t unnecessary because Bell was an S-rank hunter after all. If even Bell was serious about Mark becoming that strong, then the chances of it being true were pretty high.

"What are you worrying about? I’ve met Nexus before, and I guarantee the time needed for that is counted in millions of years or more, even billions. Lailah, am I right?"

Bell curled his lips. He wasn’t even sure he could live for a hundred years, so why bother thinking about millions or billions of years into the future?

Besides, by then he might have already become an angel long ago. Then no matter how strong Mark became, he could only stay around in the material world and wait for his lifespan to run out.

"Logically, yes. But there’s nothing guaranteeing Mark will live that long. He might even die before the two of us, so by then his strength won’t be anything too special."

Don’t mistake Lailah’s calm tone for Mark actually being weak. Even if humanity reached SS-rank, to Lailah, it still wouldn’t be anything too special.

Listening to the two of them talk about something so far in the future, Mia’s eyelids kept twitching. She had worried for nothing; it turned out it was something far off in the future, when she would have been dead for a very long time. If that was the case, then Mark could forget about taking revenge on her in this lifetime.

Earlier, Mia had even thought about getting rid of Mark, but thinking about how Mark was currently being watched by the Hunter Association, doing that would be no different from seeking death herself.

Why do I suddenly feel like some bastards are staring at me?

While cultivating, a sudden sense that something was wrong appeared in Mark’s mind. He had been cultivating for a while now, so he had recovered quite a bit. A little more and he would be able to move his fingers.

As for being blind, deaf, and mute, no matter how hard Mark cultivated, he couldn’t change that. He had to wait until his master and the system agreed before he could recover. If Mark knew that his enemy had come to ’visit’ him, he would probably be so shocked that he’d pass out.

"At least he’s a little less useless now. Like this, he can barely qualify to come and take revenge on me in the future."

Bell smirked. He clearly wasn’t afraid at all. He didn’t think Mark could surpass him within a hundred years.

Of course, that was because Bell didn’t know absorbing spiritual herbs was possible. If Bell knew, he would certainly take things a bit more seriously because Mark really would have a chance to surpass Bell.

In fact, the amount of spiritual herbs and time needed to reach the Foundation Establishment realm was extremely huge. White could barely gather enough spiritual herbs, but Mark simply couldn’t. The system and Nexus obviously wouldn’t give Mark a pile of spiritual herbs.

"Don’t laugh. Did you forget about spiritual herbs?"

One question from Lailah immediately left Bell stunned. But right after that, he continued laughing. As an S-rank hunter, Bell naturally understood how much energy an S-rank spiritual herb contained.

"Hahaha, then isn’t it even more interesting? How many spiritual herbs could a poor guy like Mark get? I’ll be blunt, if he can get even one spiritual herb in his entire life, then his luck is already insanely good. But to have a total amount of energy equal to mine, he would need maybe at least several dozen spiritual herbs combined without any energy being lost before it would be enough."

As for Nexus giving spiritual herbs to Mark, Bell felt it was extremely unlikely. Even if he did give him some, he could only give one or two spiritual herbs at most.

Bell was certain Nexus wouldn’t have only one disciple. If there were dozens, hundreds, or thousands, would there be enough spiritual herbs to give away? Nexus definitely wouldn’t create spiritual herbs himself to give to his disciples because cultivating with him required persistence, not impatience.

"What are we doing now? Nexus isn’t even here anyway."

Lailah looked at Bell. She didn’t come to Earth to travel around, so wherever Bell wanted to go, she would just follow him.

"What else can we do? Of course we’re going sightseeing. Are we seriously going to stay here and keep watching a vegetable who doesn’t even know when he’ll be able to move again?"

The three of them came quickly and left even faster. When they left, Mia also conveniently treated Nick’s injuries.

Of course, when Nick woke up, he was extremely angry. But no matter how angry he was, there was nothing else he could do except report it to the Hunter Association.

---

Continuing to cultivate for another five days, Mark’s muscles could now function normally. He still couldn’t do anything strenuous like fighting.

As soon as they saw him move, Nick immediately reported the news. The Hunter Association once again sent Emily, and this time she went alone.

After secretly observing for several days, everyone naturally knew that Mark was cultivating. They originally planned to investigate more thoroughly, but Peter said to keep quiet, so everyone didn’t bring up this strange situation much.

Emily naturally knew as well, but she didn’t care. What the hell did it matter to her how strange Mark was? She came here to do her job, and once it was done, she would leave.

"Why the hell did that old bastard send me here again? Is this something a little A-rank like me can even handle?"

Emily was already annoyed, so she directly kicked the door open and walked in. Seeing this, Nick shrank his neck and didn’t dare say a word. Only an idiot wouldn’t realize that Emily was in a terrible mood.

Her newly researched tea recipe had just failed to meet expectations, and on top of that, she had been given another impossible mission, so Emily was naturally extremely unhappy. If Nick said too much, she would definitely have to ’invite’ him to drink tea until he was full.

Emily took out a braille board and had Mark touch it. At first Mark didn’t understand anything, and later... he still didn’t understand anything.

Mark had never been blind before, so naturally he had no idea what the hell braille was. Obviously, no matter how much he touched the board, he had no idea what these raised letters meant.

"Damn it, how can this useless thing not even know braille?"

Already being in a bad mood, Emily immediately started cursing. She cursed as naturally as if everyone knew how to read braille, even though just a few hours ago she didn’t even know what the hell was written on this board.
