Chapter 1: The Tumor of the Universe
Since the primordial era, the Heavenly Dao had split off a portion of its authority into three thousand fragments that could be used by cultivators. These were called Genesis Fragments.
Each Genesis Fragment contained a power such as death, life, time, space, fire, water, lightning... Every essential law needed to maintain the existence of a plane was contained within them.
Countless eras ago, in that cultivation plane, there was a peerless genius who surpassed everything and reached a realm no one had ever known.
Across the entire universe, the Heavenly Dao was now the only goal he pursued, and he was confident he would not lose to an existence with no self-awareness.
That greatest genius in history traveled across the universe to collect these Genesis Fragments.
With absolutely overwhelming strength and countless fanatical followers spread throughout the universe, he swept through every major cultivation force in the universe and gathered all three thousand Genesis Fragments.
On that fateful day, he entered a special space together with the three thousand fragments, and from that moment on, no trace of him remained.
Some said he had died, while others believed he had reached a height where no one was even qualified to know he existed, but none of them had any proof.
As the years passed, the generation that had witnessed that miracle had almost completely disappeared. The entire cultivation world had nearly forgotten the strongest being this universe had ever seen.
---
At this very moment, every cultivator who had reached the limit of the cultivation path in this era had gathered in a pitch-black land of death.
It wasn’t simply black. All ordinary light and every color in existence had completely ceased to exist.
On that gloomy land, there was only a single faint source of light. Though extremely faint, to the eyes of those powerful beings, it was clearly a young man with black hair and sparkling blue eyes staring blankly ahead.
If anyone had lived through those distant eras, they would have recognized this face instantly. This was the face that no one would ever dare forget as long as they were still alive, even if they had lost their memory.
The cultivators of that era either feared him or worshipped him. There was absolutely no one who dared ignore his existence.
"Tumor of the Universe! Your end has finally come!"
An old man with snow-white hair and beard, yet more spirited and full of life than any young man, shouted excitedly.
Eyes that had witnessed countless stars fade away throughout the universe were now shedding tears because of an ’ordinary’ and ’harmless’ young man.
He wasn’t the only one. Many beings who had lived for countless years all burst into miserable tears.
Those tears of joy were like finally casting off the burden that had tormented them for so many years.
"The Heavenly Dao has eyes! My youthful appearance is finally coming back."
An old woman, her face covered in tears, was so excited that she jumped into the air.
She had once been a peerless beauty, so stunning that just looking into a mirror was enough to make her fall for her own looks.
That peak beauty had been perfectly preserved for ages, remaining unchanged no matter how many years passed.
But then one day, a young man with an innocent face came to her holy land and said he wanted to fit in with everyone.
At first, no one paid him any attention, but the moment he started to cultivate, the spiritual qi of the entire holy land, vast enough to rival a supercontinent, was drained dry. The lack of natural laws affected everyone, leaving them unable to cultivate normally.
The beauty she had always been so proud of vanished in an instant. From that day until now, her face had remained old and wrinkled.
She had tried every possible method, but the power of the laws made it impossible for her face to become young again no matter what she did.
"My dear disciple... I can finally bring you back to life."
Another old man cried miserably while holding a stone tablet that preserved the image of a young girl.
Back then, his disciple had somehow picked up this Tumor of the Universe and brought him back to the sect. Without telling him first, she had actually taught this bastard how to cultivate.
Back then, his disciple had only been cultivating for a short time. Her cultivation was shallow, and having to stay near this disaster of the universe immediately threw her meridians into chaos, killing her on the spot.
Then that bastard even put on a sad expression before leaving, driving the old man into a rage as he chased after him. But no matter how he fought, he never had a chance to injure him.
Left with no other choice, he could only return to gather the materials needed to revive his disciple. But the outrageous part was that the laws throughout his sect’s territory had all been twisted beyond recognition.
The effects of spells had been almost completely erased, causing his face to grow old. His disciple’s soul and body were trapped by the distorted laws, leaving him with no way to revive her. And even if he somehow succeeded, she would still die of old age very soon because there was no longer any way for her to cultivate.
One after another, they all cried out. Every old person here had once been young and powerful, only to have everything taken away by that bastard, leaving them with resentment for countless years.
Facing the murderous gazes and sky-high hatred from the crowd, the young man’s expression looked slightly sad, but for the most part, it was still as blank as a rock.
"Why?"
He remained seated, only now his eyes were no longer looking into the void but at the crowd instead. Those innocent sparkling blue eyes made the atmosphere become incredibly strange.
His voice carried no emotion at all, as if it belonged to an AI rather than a human, making everyone even angrier.
"Stop wasting time talking. Join forces and get this Tumor of the Universe out of here already. I don’t want him to exist in this plane for even one more moment."
The old man leading the revenge alliance shouted passionately, and everyone immediately gathered together and unleashed all their power into the space above.
