Chapter 18: Ziz vs. the System

Bell felt incredibly refreshed after ruthlessly stomping all over Ziz. Of course, he wasn’t planning to kill Ziz. After all, this fat chicken was Nexus’s ’bodyguard.’

Of course, that was only a secondary reason. When Bell punched Ziz, Ziz’s body actually felt like a stuffed animal. He was sure there was no way he could hurt Ziz no matter how powerful his attacks were.

Of course, now that he had dealt with Ziz, it was time to keep trampling on the system’s dignity. Today, he was definitely going to make these two arrogant bastards understand who was really allowed to be arrogant here.

"System, is your bodyguard really this pathetic? I bet it can’t even beat a normal chicken, let alone protect anyone."

The system was so pissed off by Bell that its screen turned red. Could this really be its fault? Didn’t anyone see how incredibly imposing Ziz’s entrance had been?

The system knew exactly who Ziz was, which was why it had been so confident. But it never expected that after being summoned to Earth, Ziz’s strength would become this pitiful.

[Is this my fault? Didn’t you see how overwhelming Ziz looked at first? He tricked me.]

Maybe because the system didn’t have a physical body, it was deficient in many nerve fibers. So it had no shame saying whatever the hell it wanted as long as it thought it benefited itself.

Since the system said that, Bell naturally went along with it. Right now, in Bell’s eyes, the system’s argument was full of holes because it had nothing to prove its strength.

"Well, well, so the great system got fooled so easily by a fat black chicken."

It obviously wasn’t foul language, yet that single sentence drove the system completely insane. The expression on the pixel image on the screen changed wildly, as if the system had suffered a critical error.

[I didn’t... Ziz... It’s not... Ziz didn’t...]

While the system had no idea how to prove that it hadn’t been fooled, Bell continued attacking it with his words.

"Ah, so you weren’t fooled. If you weren’t fooled and were still that confident then... I get it now. You’re a backwards system. Trash is called greatness, and greatness is called trash."

Seriously, Bell’s logic wasn’t wrong. This idiotic system had actually looked down on Nexus while hyping up that fat chicken.

[No! I am the greatest system in the universe! What happened just now was because...]

Its super intelligence was operating at full capacity. Since it couldn’t come up with a reason, shifting the blame wasn’t a bad option.

[It’s because Nexus is the piece of trash!]

"Huh?"

Even Nexus couldn’t help frowning at the system’s weird logic.

If he ever got the chance to meet Michael, he would file a complaint because the control panel lacked a feature to temporarily disable the system’s intelligence.

A pair of disdainful eyes appeared on the system screen, staring straight at Nexus as it began shamelessly shifting the blame.

[It’s because Nexus is so weak that the Lord of the Sky had his power severely suppressed.]

"Why? What does me being weak have to do with Ziz’s power being reduced?"

Nexus simply couldn’t understand how the system’s logic worked. It clearly possessed an enormous amount of knowledge, yet that arrogantly stupid attitude of its could actually make all that knowledge disappear from its memory.

[Didn’t you take a good look at your Luck stat? It’s -999! A trash stat like this is one of a kind in the entire universe. Your bad luck will spread to anyone connected to you. It’s obvious that mighty Ziz had his strength drop because of your bad luck.]

Logic like this left both Nexus and Bell speechless. How were they supposed to argue with it? If they did, the system would just make up another excuse.

Bell could clearly tell that Nexus didn’t have any ridiculously terrible luck at all. The system had obviously changed his Luck stat to that number on purpose so it could use it as an excuse to dump all of its mistakes onto Nexus.

"Are you bastards seriously still standing there talking? Can’t you see the Lord of the Sky is stuck?"

When Ziz realized he couldn’t even get himself out of a tiny hole in the wall, his face turned red with embarrassment, but his superior attitude didn’t change at all.

"Alright. My bodyguard, stop yelling."

Seeing Ziz’s butt swaying back and forth so helplessly, even Nexus couldn’t help smiling. This adorable ’monster’ might not be able to serve as a bodyguard, but at least it was infinitely better than the system.

While Ziz was still yelling, he suddenly felt a hand grabbing his butt and yanking hard, making him blush red with both anger and humiliation.

The moment Ziz got out of the wall, he immediately started shouting.

"You damn system! Send me back right now! I don’t want to stay on Earth for another second."

Was Ziz’s rage terrifying? Not really. But at least, in this room, there wasn’t a single existence afraid of a fat chicken.

[Hmph, you’re the idiot who made me lose face, and you still dare curse at me? The honor of the great system isn’t something a fat chicken like you can insult.]

Nice. The two arrogant bastards had started picking a fight with each other. Just moments ago, the system had been praising Ziz as the Lord of the Sky, and now it had immediately turned around and started calling him a fat chicken.

Bell’s eyelids twitched as he changed back into his human form. Right now, he was a little curious what kind of ’kind words’ these two bastards, who had just been on the same side, were about to throw at each other.

He glanced over at Nexus and saw that Nexus was also watching the drama, just like him, waiting to see what these two idiots were going to do.

"Honor? You don’t have shit for honor. You’re nothing but a stupid system that had to get down on your knees and beg me to come to Earth. If it weren’t for you, why would I have to suffer this humiliation?"

[Humiliation? You’re obviously the stupid fat chicken who made me lose face. I went through all that effort to give you such a grand introduction, and you ended up being this pathetic. If I’d known earlier, I would’ve summoned a real chicken. It probably would’ve been more useful than you.]
