The Other World Dining Hall (WN)
Carbonara
I got into trouble.
Edmond, who counts the first thirty years of service to the kingdom, sighed in a room in the royal palace when he heard information from a secret detective.
"Right. Does Her Royal Highness have a thick line to dowry in the land of sand?"
"Ha. There have already been rumours in Imperial Capital of a massive mission focusing on His Majesty the King of the Land of Sand. I was wondering for sure."
To Edmond's words, the faithful spy who has served him for a long time nods back one and continues his words.
"I know the phase. It was daunting. You can back off."
After listening to the information all the way through, Edmond lowers the spy.
"... you empire. What the hell are you thinking?
On Edmond's face, whining so, comes a strong vigilant phase.
The upper echelons of the kingdom, including the king, say they are not enough to take an empire without Vilheim, etc., but Edmond, who has been in charge of intelligence for a long time inside the kingdom, knew better than anyone the strength of a heterogeneous country called Empire.
For the kingdom, an empire is the kingdom of the emperor Wilheim, which must be recognized as great.
Therefore its Vilheim traveled to the Underworld in old age, and as a king it shows only mediocre vessels. There is nothing to fear, such as an empire ruled by the emperor today.
Interpretation is a nation of the U.N. crowd with only savage demons and civilians except kings. Not to be the enemy of the kingdom, which has long been in charge of the order of this eastern continent.
That, Edmond thinks, is the only word very commonly said in the kingdom that is sweet.
Certainly there is no momentum in the empire today when it was once a hungry wolf.
The battle partitioned by the present emperor only happened once more than a decade ago, just before that Wilheim collapsed.
Since then, the Empire has only used vast numbers of soldiers for border security, with no battle-like battles, only planting Danshak fruit in the wasteland of the country.
(But that's not because we've definitely lost the great emperor, Wilheim, and there's nothing left to guide us, etc.)
Edmon feels that way...... rather, I even think he would have been a more tolerable opponent if it had been a land of hungry wolves biting everywhere like that.
With the fruit of Danshak, God's crop (which is nothing but a story about the frown spit that the temple of God on earth blows, but I see it had just the splendor of wanting to say so), the Empire changed its policy considerably. It was Edmond's conclusion that instead of taking the already cut open wheat fields, he turned the wasteland, which was supposed to yield nothing, into a Danshak field where folk grass was grown and raised.
(Perhaps it should be referred to as Master Wilheim's last ploy... a terrible man)
It was probably Vilheim's last legacy left that the last battle to gain the harbour, which the Empire now seemed a little impossible, was just before Vilheim collapsed.
This made no one doubt about the empire, which suddenly stopped waging war.
Even though Wilheim taught me, the new emperor no longer had a battle divider that required a huge number of troops to be put together, so he had to go into defense.
(But no. The Empire is only growing Danshak fruits to enrich the country and accumulate power)
An army is what is always necessary.
Even in ordinary times without battle, there are always demons who rave as their instincts do.
Defeating it is the job of the army and the Knights. The country should not rely on a single villager or merchant, such as an adventurer or a mercenary.
It is therefore not surprising at first sight that an empire with today's vast territory still feeds and retains an enormous army.
But it also means that if you have to go back, you can fight like a hungry wolf again at any time.
(Neither kings nor nobles know the danger)
Or perhaps the kingdom of today is what should be said even with the people of the U.N.
Worried about the current situation in such a homeland, Edmond sighs again.
The kingdom is supposedly the beginning of an alliance between a number of powerful lords who ruled the land then known as the periphery, in order to counter the horrendous crowds of dead spirits and demons rampaging orbitlessly around the reign of the king who once stripped his fangs… turned into a fearsome rich.
Although originally the product of a compromise, there is little cohesion in national power for it.
Unlike the principality, where the prince's word takes precedence over anything in order to have the rightful bloodline of the ancient kingdom, or the empire, where no one has any doubt that the emperor raised the country with one of his talents, but obeyed the emperor's word for it, the king of the kingdom is also to be said to be the most powerful lord of nobility, and even the king needs to root and coordinate if he wants to do one thing.
As a result, few people in the kingdom have been sipped boiled water without being able to cope with the rapid movements of the empire.
(This time too... I guess I can't do anything from the kingdom)
It is not very good for the kingdom that an empire that is oblivious to the study of witchcraft because of its lack of history connects with a land of sand that is said to be comparable to the kingdom and the principality in the study of witchcraft.
But there are many heavy towns in the kingdom that insult the Empire after the death of Vilheim, and above all, the only thing on their minds is to pull each other's legs. In them, it will all be over before they exchange anything against the Empire.
(What will happen to the kingdom... you have a headache)
Feeling agitated, Edmond is set to go out to 'gather information'.
Since the opening of the kingdom, the moldy library, its own fixed location, surrounded by historical materials collected from all over.
Behind it, there is a secret door that only Edmond knows.
Once every seven days, a black door with a painting of a cat that only appears on Doyo Day.
Edmond secretly becomes a guest there.
Behind the dim library, the chillin 'chillin' and the bell sounded.
Turning around and looking slowly through the bright store, Edmond decides to take a seat when he greets only Daiwei Altrius, the wise man he sees, with his eyes.
A secluded, discreet seat is Edmond's fixed position.
"Welcome"
That's how when I get to my seat, my salary slowly approaches me.
"... Hmm. A new face. What's your name?
I realize that's not my usual demonic daughter, Aletta, but a human daughter with a mountain-style face, and speak lightly.
The daughter, who did not seem too used to wearing her feeding clothes, smiled a little less and returned the words.
"Yep. I'm going to say Yamamoto Hayashi, who has been allowed to work part-time with the kitchen since last week. Nice to meet you"
"Right. You call it Yamagata? Well, can I order it?
I guess there's a lot of upbringing, though I'm less accustomed to the job of paying than Aletta, to observe from the verbal and physical hips.
With such an observation, Edmond orders his usual dishes.
"Carbonara, please"
Eat that noodle dish first, not even served by Alfaid. That is the fashion of Edmond.
"Yes. Carbonara...... right. Please wait."
When asked to place an order, Yamagata takes an unfamiliar stick and plank-like thing out of her waist and writes it as sarah.
(Well, can you write? Looks like you still have upbringing)
I can hear that Aletta has quite a difference in education just because she can write compared to just always listening to orders and going to tell them.
Nor did Yamagata seem concerned that she was being observed like that, and Yamagata went back to the kitchen and went to pass on her order.
(Well, shall we look at the guests now?)
Finishing the order, Edmond slowly observes the store.
A bunch of faeries flocking to the usual faceless, seemingly omelette dishes, Lizardman, or some kind of treat placed on the table like a bee or some kind of flock.
Lamia gives a sense of elegance and upbringing to her waist, speaking joyfully with a brown-skinned boy to the couple's turn Ouga, who sits back on the floor and drinks while devouring meat.
Sitting next to each other as usual, the knight of the principality eating the dishes and the lady of the Gold Chamber of Commerce.
Cook at the Alfaid Chamber of Commerce occupying the only seat with a view of the kitchen.
Elf sisters would be a combination of a sister who eats dishes in a flamboyant manner and a sister who eats dishes quickly and gracefully while always looking somewhere awkward.
And like I said, I enjoy the golden barley wine slowly, the great sage.
Different guests enjoy cooking and eating in this restaurant.
It's an unthinkable circumstance in Edmond's common sense, but I only got used to it and realized it.
Even if you just look at it like this, you can get all kinds of information from this store.
Edmond prefers to gather information. By using it, I went up from a noble civilian to a minister.
The observation eye is sharp and I have obtained various information in this store.
"Thank you for waiting. Carbonara."
"Oh, are you here? Okay, let's just get you started."
Except that's how one person eats carbonara in a store in another world.
A meal for only one person, not usually obtainable inside, without being interrupted by anyone or a annoying rush.
Only when he ate this did Edmond decide to forget his job.
The smell of cheese comes from the warm hot air.
Pink smoked meat and black pepper grains scattered over it, glimpsed in a noodle tangled with plenty of light yellow cheese mixed with thickened and melted out eggs.
(Um, Carbonara's still not like this.)
Born and raised in the kingdom, Edmond is particularly thoughtful in noodle dishes.
When I was just an adult, the innovative dishes produced one after the other by the Alfaid Chamber of Commerce were noodle dishes.
Back then, even in the palace, we talked about what kind of dish Alfaid would produce next.
(Although the Alphaid Chamber of Commerce apparently originated in this store)
Wrap the noodles around them with a fork, tapping through such nostalgic memories.
Wrapped in a bite size in a silver fork, place the noodles around your mouth, inhale one hint of cheese, and then put it in your mouth.
Edmond smiles unexpectedly at the feeling that the freshly made heat noodles melt the cheese and the melted cheese spreads into his mouth.
Intense cheese flavor and an egg flavor so intense that you can't beat it. Colouring those two is the fat dissolved from smoked meat in moderate salt gas and the spiciness of black pepper that is tightening the flavor.
They blend into the cheese and convey the delicacy along with the firm texture of the noodles that put that cheese together.
(Hmm. I still can't resist this flavor)
When I first ate it, I didn't think the eggs and cheese would go so well together.
Also, the noodles are not beaten by the taste of the cheese by using noodles that are slightly thicker than the normal ones.
While I wrapped plenty of cheese around it, the taste of noodle wheat remained firm.
(Well, next...)
Stab the smoked meat with a fork and transport it to the mouth.
Smoked meat, which was cut into thick corners, lost a good amount of fat and gave a firm feel to the flavor of the meat. The flavor made the tongue used to the flavor of rich cheese feel a different flavor, which made it even more enjoyable for carbonara.
Eat noodles, smoked meat, and noodles again.
One plate of carbonara instantly emptied.
"Phew... sorry. I'd like some extra coffee."
After finishing his meal, Edmond rests his tongue with a softly bitter cup of coffee tea from another world.
(Now let's get back to work...)
Satisfied with the carbonara of a plate, Edmond gave thought to the work to come.
