Chapter 983 - Fire Dragon King Transformation
Han Wu ran the Conversion Jurisdiction at full power and barely managed to extinguish the flames on his body. The Ancient Fire God’s fire carried the force of a Divine Jurisdiction.
Although Han Wu was also using a Divine Jurisdiction, he was not the Conversion God King, and his understanding of it was limited to a single effect, Energy Conservation.
The Ancient Fire God, on the other hand, had spent ages mastering their Flame Jurisdiction. The gap was enormous. This realization gave Han Wu a splitting headache. He had tried everything to avoid a fight with the Ancient Fire God, yet here he was anyway.
With his strength, defending himself was already a struggle. Both defeating the Ancient Fire God or escaping seemed almost impossible.
When the Ancient Fire God saw Han Wu quench their flames, curiosity flickered in their expression. They couldn’t fathom how anyone in the White Soul Civilization could snuff out their fire. Could the Golden Will have chosen this person as the next king?
The Ancient Fire God sent another wave of fire at Han Wu as a test. This time, the flames were far more ferocious. Han Wu howled in agony and quickly shifted to his Sixth Form, the Fire Dragon Knight.
Fire dragons were creatures born from the union of flame and Great Dragon blood. They possessed an innate affinity for fire. Han Wu’s pain thus eased considerably, though the Ancient Fire God’s flames still burned. He had no choice but to keep running the Jurisdiction Conversion, converting the divine fire into his own energy.
The Ancient Fire God observed Han Wu’s reaction and concluded he was not the Golden Will’s chosen king. A true king would not cower before their flames. Satisfied, they moved to fulfill their follower’s dying wish and burn Han Wu to cinders.
Han Wu had already been scorched twice and had no desire for a third round. Calling out Esquiem, he mounted it and flew as fast as they could, desperate to outrun the Ancient Fire God’s flames.
Esquiem was fast, but not fast enough. The gap was rapidly closing.
Both Han Wu and Esquiem were set ablaze again. The intense fire sent them tumbling from the sky. Han Wu forced the flames off himself with the Conversion Jurisdiction. Esquiem had no such ability and was forced to endure the burn. The divine fire’s corrosive power made it suffer terribly.
Han Wu rushed to help, using the Conversion Jurisdiction to strip the flames from Esquiem’s body. Several consecutive burns had taken a heavy toll on them. They wouldn’t survive many more rounds of this.
The Ancient Fire God held their fire for the moment, staring at Han Wu with genuine curiosity.
“You carry something that can quench my fire?” the Ancient Fire God asked, voice resonating directly in Han Wu’s mind as a soul-level transmission.
Han Wu understood the implication. The Ancient Fire God wanted whatever was neutralizing their fire. In other words, they wanted the Conversion Jurisdiction. However, if he gave it up, he would have no defense left. One blast and he would be ashes.
“Surrender the treasure that quenches my fire,” the Ancient Fire God commanded.
Han Wu knew he was out of options. Reluctantly removing the Divine Stone from its slot, he walked toward the Ancient Fire God. As he approached, he spotted something on the ground near the Ancient Fire God.
It was a Divine Stone. His first emotion was confusion. Divine Stones were rare, and even the vault of the Fire Worship Cult only had one—the same one he had put the Conversion Jurisdiction on.
So, where did the Divine Stone on the ground come from? It appeared to be a Rank 9 Divine Stone at that. After a moment of thought, he realized Hennibal had died there. He had been so preoccupied with fighting the cult leader that he hadn’t noticed that Hennibal had dropped it when he died.
That was the key to turning this around!
His mind raced, but outwardly he kept up the act. He walked toward the Ancient Fire God, holding out the original Divine Stone. The Ancient Fire God stood their ground, too proud to lower themself, waiting for Han Wu to deliver the treasure to their feet.
When Han Wu was within three meters, he made his move. He veered sharply, snatched the Rank 9 Divine Stone off the ground, and instantly transferred the Demon King Transformation from his old Divine Stone into the new one.
The Ancient Fire God, believing that they had been tricked, sent another torrent of divine fire crashing down on Han Wu. Han Wu triggered the Demon King Transformation’s second stage in that same instant.
“True Black Dragon King Transformation!” A terrifying wave of Dark Energy formed a protective membrane around him, blocking the flames and buying him a few precious seconds to breathe.
The divine fire was relentless, though, and the dark barrier wouldn’t hold for long. As Han Wu braced himself to fight the Ancient Fire God head-on, Esquiem came flying toward him.
“Noble Defier, I felt you calling me!” Esquiem cried.
Han Wu was bewildered. He hadn’t called it.
Then, he felt it. The True Black Dragon King Transformation was resonating with his Sixth Form, the Fire Dragon Knight. It had originally been born from Han Wu activating his latent dragon blood, but its second-stage transformation was now evolving.
The evolution only accelerated as Esquiem drew near. Han Wu slowed his flight and channeled energy into the process.
The resonance pulled Esquiem in, and it merged directly into Han Wu’s body. In a flash, the black scales of the True Black Dragon King Transformation turned a blazing red. Darkness gave way to flame.
The Demon King Transformation’s second stage underwent a complete metamorphosis, turning into the Fire Dragon King Transformation.
Flames erupted from every scale, replacing the Dark Energy with a blazing barrier that held the Ancient Fire God’s divine fire at bay. No matter how fiercely the divine fire raged, the Fire Dragon King Transformation’s flames showed no sign of weakening.
As Han Wu settled into the new form, he noticed something peculiar. The divine fire actually smelled rather pleasant. Acting on pure instinct, he opened his dragon jaws and inhaled.
The Ancient Fire God’s divine fire poured into his mouth and settled comfortably in his stomach. Surprisingly, it wasn’t painful at all. The Ancient Fire God lost their composure when they saw Han Wu swallow their fire.
Their divine fire roared to full intensity, determined to use everything they had to reduce Han Wu to slag. The might of an ancient god was not to be challenged.
