With the Desolation Manifestation’s guidance, Han Wu quickly found a new type of living being to target: Little Dwarves. They averaged less than eighty centimeters tall, much shorter than proper dwarves.

Their small bodies meant their physical capabilities were ‌weak, though they were still much stronger than Slimes overall. Han Wu swung his wooden club and went to work on the Little Dwarves.

His strength, greater than that of most adults, was practically divine force to these tiny creatures. Every swing killed one Little Dwarf, and he wiped out the group in no time.

The Little Dwarves’ bodies dissolved into light, leaving behind the products condensed from their life essence. Han Wu took the White Soul Coins and collected the various materials. The equipment, however, failed to impress him.

Most of the Little Dwarves’ drops were trash, like small knives and small vests, all Rank 0 and barely better than his wooden club. After picking through the lot, he managed to find a single necklace worth using, which provided Spirit +1.

He placed the necklace into one of his six slots and immediately felt his mind become clearer. His casting speed for Frost Aura also improved slightly. As a seasoned fighter, even with his strength sealed, Han Wu’s ability to analyze his own condition remained sharp, and he could discern the exact benefits that each attribute gave him.

After clearing out the Little Dwarves, the Desolation Manifestation directed him toward a herd of Saber Rabbits. Killing these Saber Rabbits netted Han Wu several pieces of Rank 0 leather armor and fur coats with better defense than the tattered cotton coat, so he swapped them in immediately and filled all six empty slots.

He checked his stats in his panel.

[Strength +1, Spirit +1, Agility +1, Attack +3, Defense +5]

Those were the bonuses from five pieces of equipment and one Ice Stone.

Having all six slots filled meant Han Wu could leave the Initial State as per the White Soul Civilization’s laws, but his stats left him feeling dissatisfied.

After analyzing these attributes, Han Wu gained a clearer understanding of how the White Soul Civilization worked. In his Initial State, he could only equip Rank 0 gear and material stones. Still, there was a significant quality gap, even among Rank 0 equipment,

The tattered cotton coat he first obtained and the Saber Rabbit fur coat he got later not only differed greatly in warmth, but the latter also had double the attribute bonuses. Although Han Wu wasn’t usually one for obsessiveness, it was hard to stomach two pieces of equipment with attributes that differed by a full hundred percent.

So, even after filling all six slots, he didn’t rush to leave the Initial State and instead focused on finding better equipment. There were plenty of Saber Rabbits in the area, after all.

Han Wu swung his club until it nearly smoked from the friction. Materials and equipment piled up around him, yet few met his standards.

That changed when he spotted a giant Saber Rabbit that was roughly the size of an adult husky. This one was clearly unusual. The other rabbits had soft fur and an adorable appearance, while this giant Saber Rabbit was all bulging muscle, with not a strand of fur on its body.

Its muscle definition was essentially the Saber Rabbit world’s equivalent of a bodybuilder. The sight of this creature even took the Desolation Manifestation aback, and it quickly told Han Wu to stop wasting time on the regular Saber Rabbits.

This one was the real prize. Killing it would likely yield multiple powerful pieces of equipment.

Han Wu immediately charged in with his club. Unfortunately, the giant Saber Rabbit’s dense muscles caused his attacks to bounce right off. It even jumped up and delivered a perfectly executed flying kick straight to Han Wu’s chest.

The impact sent him stumbling back, blood streaming from his nose and mouth. It felt like he’d been hit by a car. Still, the injury wasn’t serious enough to stop him, and he activated his skill, Frost Aura.

A layer of solid ice formed around the wooden club. Han Wu swung the ice-coated weapon at the giant Saber Rabbit. The additional enhancement of Attack +1 and Ice +1 meant his blows were not only heavier, but the club itself also carried the power of frost. The creature was stunned on impact.

Han Wu pressed the advantage, landing several more blows to its skull until finally, it cracked open with a crunch. The scattering of ice shards across the ground, mixing with the pool of blood, and taking a long time to melt.

The giant Saber Rabbit’s body dissolved into points of light, leaving behind a Rank 0 Saber Rabbit King Set. This full six-piece set could fill all of Han Wu’s slots perfectly.

Han Wu didn’t hesitate to remove the miscellaneous gear from his slots and equip the full set.

[Strength +5, Agility +5, Defense +10]

On top of the attribute bonuses, completing the full set also activated a passive skill called Muscle Fortitude, which granted additional strength and defense equivalent to one’s muscles. Although the stat bonuses were less diverse, the overall values were much higher.

Han Wu was satisfied with this and, following the Desolation Manifestation’s guidance, he successfully moved past the Initial State, locking in his attributes at Strength +5, Agility +5, Defense +10, along with the passive skill Muscle Fortitude.

With the Initial State behind him, Han Wu finally entered the true phase of the White Soul Civilization’s Power of Forms. A new panel appeared before him, this time with ten empty slots waiting to be filled.

“What happens if I fill all ten slots?” Han Wu asked the Desolation Manifestation.

“If you fill all ten, you’ll obtain a First Form. Your strength will be locked into that more powerful state, and you’ll open up the slots needed for the Second Form,” the Desolation Manifestation replied.

Han Wu nodded, his interest in the White Soul Civilization’s laws piqued. He silently vowed to push himself as far as possible. Who knew? Maybe one day he’d become the king of the White Soul Civilization.
