Chapter 2243 - 2236: Genes Within Fossils
Only mottled bloodstains remained on the balcony.
"How could this be? Could it be that Gui Jingjing is not dead?" Lin Shir exclaimed.
"Probably not, I personally decapitated her, it should be someone who took the corpse away." Wang Dadong said while stroking his chin.
Even as strong as Gui Jingjing was, she couldn’t possibly survive without a head.
"Good that she’s dead..." Lin Shir patted her chest.
Bang bang bang.
Suddenly, there was a knock on the door from outside.
As the door opened, King Kong and a member of the Dragon Team walked in.
"Whoa, Brother Dong, why does earth-shattering stuff always happen wherever you go? If Captain Hao hadn’t asked me to hurry over and sort things out, it would probably have caused nationwide panic."
"King Kong, why is it always you? Why isn’t it my Long’er coming?" Wang Dadong frowned.
"Who’s Long’er?" Lin Shir looked at Wang Dadong with a wary expression.
"Uh... a member of the Dragon Team, a male." Wang Dadong quickly replied.
"Really? You, Uncle Blackface, tell me, is Long’er a male? Don’t you dare lie to me!" Lin Shir stared directly at King Kong.
King Kong was instantly furious; you’re the one with a black face, you’re the uncle, your whole family are uncles! However, for a young girl like Lin Shir, King Kong couldn’t really get angry, and he knew who Lin Shir was, so he could only say, "We only have male members in our team."
"Alright, beauty, stop messing around. I have something important to discuss with Brother Dong." King Kong waved his hand.
"What is it?" Wang Dadong said seriously.
"Is the corpse here with you?" King Kong asked.
Wang Dadong shook his head, "It was just on the balcony, and in the blink of an eye, it disappeared. Do you know what that is?"
"It seems to be a Gene Warrior. Captain Hao told us we must retrieve the body." King Kong said.
"Gene Warrior? Aren’t they supposed to be half-human, half-beast?" Wang Dadong looked suspicious.
"Exactly, regular Gene Warriors are indeed half-human, half-beast, but this one is different; it seems to be a Ninth Generation Gene Warrior, humanoid, much more powerful than an Eighth Generation Gene Warrior."
Gene Warriors were produced by Plunderers. He had only recently seen the Seventh Generation Gene Warriors at Jitai Group.
Unexpectedly, they had already produced the Ninth Generation so quickly.
And the Ninth Generation was comparable to a Saint. If Plunderers produced the Tenth Generation Gene Warriors, wouldn’t they be able to rival Hermit-level?
This was too terrifying, wasn’t it?
After the fusion of human and animal genes, such a terrifying amount of energy was produced.
Indeed, this world is quite marvelous.
There are tremendous differences between different species.
Take ants for example, according to physicists, an ant can lift things over 400 times its body weight and transport objects over 1700 times its body weight!
Imagine if humans obtained such abilities, how terrifying would it be?
A normal person can lift a hundred pounds without much issue, but increasing it by 400 times, that means they could lift 40,000 pounds of weight!
And transport 170,000 pounds of objects!
Then there are bats, capable of emitting ultrasonic waves.
Fish can live in water.
Birds can fly.
...
And so on and so forth.
So, indeed, gene fusion between different species can result in significant changes.
It’s just that fusing genes from different species is incredibly difficult, almost impossible to accomplish.
Humans have researched this topic for countless years, achieving only minimal progress.
However, in recent years, due to some mysterious object, humans have made huge leaps in gene fusion.
Moreover, Gui Jingjing was just a regular person before; she suddenly became as powerful as a Saint, even Wang Dadong couldn’t understand how she did it.
Actually, what Wang Dadong didn’t know was that Plunderers made such big strides in creating Gene Warriors partly because of him.
With that object, many impossibilities became possible...
Thinking about it, Wang Dadong found it terrifying, just hoping the Ninth Generation Gene Warriors couldn’t be mass-produced, otherwise no one could stop a Gene Warrior army.
And he was right; although the Ninth Generation Gene Warrior is powerful, it cannot be mass-produced because its genes are extremely dominant, originating from a very fierce animal, the Tibetan Mastiff King!
Tibetan Mastiffs are also known as Dragon Dogs, tall and fierce, capable of fighting lions and tigers.
As for the Tibetan Mastiff King, it’s bred by placing all the Tibetan Mastiff puppies from the same litter together, not feeding them, forcing them to kill each other for survival. After fighting, only the last one remains, then starving it for half a month; if it survives, it becomes the Tibetan Mastiff King.
With such an experience, the Tibetan Mastiff King is even more ferocious than regular Tibetan Mastiffs.
This kind of gene is extremely dominant, full of ferocity, not something ordinary people can bear.
Extensive experiments showed that even very strong men struggled to withstand these genes; once injected with a Gene Potion, their genes would quickly collapse, and they would die.
Just as scientists were about to give up, they suddenly discovered that women had a higher tolerance for these genes compared to men; however, not all women could bear these genes, thus began the search for a suitable carrier.
Initially, they would use a sort of potion to conduct screening, akin to testing in medicine. Li Xiaoxue, being a swimming champion trained from a young age with excellent physical fitness, was chosen.
But Wang Dadong’s intervention disrupted their plans, causing Gui Jingjing to ingest half a bottle of the test potion. Though it was a test potion, it remained potent and difficult for most to endure, but Gui Jingjing did withstand it, thus becoming the best carrier for a Ninth Generation Gene Warrior.
A research lab.
Gui Jingjing, separated from her head, lay on the surgical platform.
"Don’t worry, the Ninth Generation Gene Warrior’s survival abilities are incredibly strong; as long as not all the cells die, she should be able to recover." Several researchers busied themselves around Gui Jingjing.
"Damn, it’s that bastard ruining our plans again, he previously destroyed one of our bases."
One researcher angrily said.
"Hmph, let him be arrogant for a while longer. Once we produce the Tenth Generation Gene Warrior, killing him will be as easy as crushing an ant. By then, the top brass won’t hold back anymore." Another researcher retorted.
"To produce the Tenth Generation Gene Warrior, we first need to crack the gene sequences in those fossils, and finding a carrier suitable for a Tenth Generation Gene Warrior isn’t easy either."
These scientists were utterly mad; it was already one thing to fuse Tibetan Mastiff King genes with human genes, but now to create even stronger Gene Warriors, they were setting their sights on the fossils of fierce ancient exotic beasts!
