The Queen’s Cosmetician

Chapter 5: Complex Servants 1

"Three days!?

"What's that?

Samurai head Laura Huntingdon is just a look at what she's so surprised at. Die shook his head and groaned that it was nothing. Heath looks like a stranger. You can't make a scene yourself.

But I also want to be surprised.

The morning after an intense day of being attacked by thieves and taken care of by strange magicians, Die woke up at Miguel's shop picked up the Tsuji carriage, following Heath's suggestion, and returned with him to the Mizweeri family. Following their whereabouts, when it was due time, they did not return home, the mansion presented a sobering appearance.

The servants of the Mizwieri family had already heard of the circumstances under which the thief had attacked them. Apparently, a merchant squad that was on its way to the neighboring town was witnessing events. After the thieves disappeared after them, the merchants sent the carriages and the bodies of the murdered men to the gates of the walls. Immediately, the search party was released towards the wilderness, but in the end, it was not possible to find what the Dies looked like - three days had passed.

The time spent in Alvina's house, even though it was only one night, is irrelevant.

"Where the hell were you?

Laura asks, trying to exhale the fatigue that builds up during the three days. It was Heath standing beside the die who responded.

"It's the wilderness. It was before dawn today that I arrived under the castle. It was almost walking through."

Heath, who spits lies, is flat. Die mumbled. When it comes to being able to keep his feet together, it's about taking care not to lie on his face.

"What about clothes?

"The guards at the castle wall lent it to me. Just because you're so terrible."

The clothes I originally wore were left at Miguel's. Laundry is exchanged and clean by Alvina, because it was too unnatural to say that he was wandering the wilderness.

"... ok"

Laura, who broke off the Q&A to Heath, turns back to Die. Her cold eyes made her body tense unknowingly.

"Die."

"Yes."

Upright, Die responded.

"I know you're tired, but Master Mariage is waiting for you for lunch today. Take your tools with you when you've finished dressing. That's all, take the day off. Start working again tomorrow as usual."

Laura's grey-brown eyes have no emotional color. The tone is flat, and I can't see any relief in the fact that people at the same workplace have returned home safely even after being attacked by thieves. Laura's attitude in giving instructions to Die was only clerical.

Silently prompted to leave the room, Die looks up to Heath. Apparently, he noticed Die's gaze. Although he colored his mouth with a slight smile, he immediately turns to Laura with a harsh look on his face. From now on, he will run to get his three-day job back where he was away.

Die politely thanked him, knowing that no one was paying attention. Leave Heath and the others in the room to confirm what happened during the blank period and head out into the hallway.

"Die!"

A familiar face greeted the die slightly away from the door of the room. It is Titianna.

"Titi"

Die rushed over to an older colleague who would welcome this one by waving his jumping hand.

"Oh good. When I heard you were attacked by a bandit, I thought my heart would stop."

Unexpectedly blushes to Titianna, who embraces her in an extremely sensitive way. I didn't think you could hold me.

"Oh, thank you. Somehow safe...... Titi?

With Die's body in her arms, she touches her back with a pepper. Mm-hmm. Get your body away from her roaring, Die asked.

"What's wrong with you?

"... Die is really thin."

Titianna, with her hands on her hips and looking down at the die, squeaks smugly. Ha, and when the die responded with a raw reply, she had turned to a labored smile.

"You must be hungry. Morning porridge, because it's left over."

"Thank you"

Let's go, and Die nodded and started walking alongside her to the annex, where she lived.

"Did you ask Mr. Huntingdon about his plans for today?

To Titianna's inquiry, Die nodded.

"Dear Mariage, you're called to dinner. He asked me to help him with the tools."

"Yep. Because it is the Bethleim family's mansion today, Maria is feeling even more tingly. But you don't throw things at me, do you? I'm very popular. Since then."

Die became tannic to Titianna's laughter, which made him have inclusions. It's obvious what she's showing. Die blew a fight on Mariage, that was then.

"I won't say it with my mouth, but I've always said that you're gone and you're not coming back. You said you were worried, but you weren't being honest, Master Mariage."

"... ha"

"But it was tough. Wow. Maria was a grown-up, but with Liveau gone, there was a fuss about what would happen to the house from now on. It wasn't like this when your husband was kidnapped by thieves."

The hall looked like it had been turned upside down, Titianna said.

"I'm glad you're back.... Die, of course you are."

I haven't forgotten, and Die nodded laughing at her as she meditated on one eye. I know, I know.

It is only natural that those in this House who are carrying on with the power of Heath should worry about his safety as a matter of priority. That's why I was terribly happy with the way Titianna cared.

In front of the Die room in the annex, I break up once with Titianna, who said she was going to get the wheat porridge. Dropping off her back, Die opened her own door.

The air in the room, which was absent from the Lord, is precipitating. Die placed his luggage on the sleeping table and opened the blackout cloth, opening the window. The wind passes, the dust shakes.

For the first time since the light of day plugged in, Die noticed a crate placed by the sleeping table.

(... from Miguel's shop)

Crate packed with work tools purchased.

I thought the thief attacked me and I was wasted. But it's here, which would mean that the merchants were safely recovered and delivered when they pulled back the carriage.

Second, I feel uncomfortable.

Something trivial, but decisive discomfort.

Die poked his knee by the crate and opened the lid. The items packed inside must have been purchased at Miguel's.

Tilt your neck with your hands on the edge of the crate.

What the hell is the discomfort of this specialty?

"Die."

To the call, Die turned around.

Titianna insists on her return by gently knocking on the door that remained open. The rising die blinked unexpectedly at the darkness of her expression nestled in the doorway.

"... what's wrong with you?

Titianna broke up with herself when she said she was going to get some wheat porridge. But she didn't have anything in her hand. For a moment, I wondered if what she was putting me away was gone, but her expression is too serious for that. She had clouded her colored eyes more than any other and her eyebrows were tight. It's also unusual for her to get so far on the tannic side where she has the audacity.

"Titi?"

"Die, after breakfast. Get dressed and go to Maria's room now."

"... Master Mariage, what is it?

Titianna nodded mysteriously at Die's inquiry.

"He won't come out of the room."

Get dressed quickly and hurry to Mariage's room with Titianna. When the die arrived, several samurai and deacons, as well as soldiers of the guards, were tucked (rather) in front of the door.

One of the samurai is knocking on the door and raising her voice to the Lord of the room.

"Dear Maria! Dear Mariage!"

The appearance of servants crossing words with hiccups with anxiety faces was reminiscent of the day the die first set foot in the land. I arrived at the mansion and hurried down to her to catch a seizure.

"Hina. What about Master Maria?

Titianna, who was leading the die, asks the maid who was knocking on the door. Looking back, she waved powerless beside her face as she took a slight distance from the door, acknowledging the appearance of Titianna and Die.

"Not at all. It's locked. If Meribel reports that Mr. Rivot and Die are back, and he leaves the room after his service, then so be it. There are signs, so I know you're there. Where Reese is calling Mr. Huntingdon right now."

"Why?

"Sora...... hey"

Hina's gaze pours on the die. It's not just hers. All of them together watching over things on the spot pierce their bodies simultaneously and wander into discomfort.

Die sighed and slipped through between Hina and Titianna. Gently knock on the closed door on Hina's behalf.

"Excuse me. I'm Die. We're back."

No reply.

But Hina's right, there are signs of people right next door.

The breath of a covert girl through the door.

Die held his breath again, continuing his words.

"Uh... we're all gathered to prepare for the dinner party. Dear Mariage, if you can't come out, we'll all be in trouble."

What do you say, one of the servants watching over things stares at the die with a pale face. A little more, I know it would mean hanging words that cared about her cheapness, but with that strange face, Die turned back to the door.

"If you don't want to attend lunch, if you say so, I think you can rest for a reason if you have a fever or catch a cold... maybe"

Find Kilim, the deacon, and Rodovico, the attending, among the servants gathered, and take a glance at them. Kilim slightly frowned at Die's remarks and Rodovico just stroked his bald head with a bitter smile.

"Dear Mariage,"

No response from Mariage.

"... I'm the reason you can't come out?

Are you stuck because you don't want to see yourself in the face to prepare for dinner?

"Well, then, I have no choice.... then"

With his forehead on the door where all the silence would return, Die meditated. Approximately just over a month after leaving the flower district. Short, intense days.

Speaking of not hesitating, I lie.

squeezing his voice out of his throat was also a struggle.

But definitely, Die said.

"… your job, I will quit"

"Die!?

Die looked back at the woman's rubbing voice, which echoed beside her. At the same time, the stretched white hand grabs Die's shoulder abusively.

Titianna's face, with a rugged expression, was close.

"What are you suddenly talking about!

"'Cause if I have a reason why Master Mariage can't come out, then I'll have to quit, won't I?

"You."

"Besides, I'm a makeup artist. If you can't let me touch Mariaj's face, there's no point in being there."

No matter how many samurai learn to work and help with chores, there are limits. If you're going to continue serving the Mizweeri family without touching Mariage's face, you'll have to saddle up the job.

But I wanted to avoid it.

Cosmetics, although slightly different in shape, are one of the few legacies of my father left to me.

Look around at the servants gathering around the room. Though largely tamed this past month, Die is still a 'leftover' to them. That is why their eyes on the die are disgusting when the friction that has occurred with the mariage has surfaced, as it is now.

Die looked up at Titianna. The senile samurai, who was second only to Heath to be kind to herself, looks down at herself with a twilight eye.

"Even Titty would be in trouble if she stayed that way, wouldn't she?

If Mariage stays stuck. If this kind of noise seems to occur every time you prepare to go out to another house.

You'll be in trouble. There can't be any trouble.

"Die."

Titianna calls me to work. Die smiled.

"It's okay."

Looking up at Titianna, who stood silently, Die thought he had to clear the room. Luggage is not that much. Die's personal belongings are mostly accounted for by work tools. You can replace the product you purchased at Miguel's store with a bag along with other tools. And then you tell Heath about this - and I'm sorry if it's such a story that it hurts his head even more that he's been busy making up for the last three days.

I turned back on my heels to tell him that I was free, and turned again to the door behind me, that moment.

Bang!!!

Literally, an open door plundered the tip of his nose with momentum slammed against the wall, and Die stood on the spot with a glance.

Whatever emerged from beyond the door, the girl Die serves.

"Dear Mariage,"

Behind the sunlit room, the bold walls with a view of the castle, Mariage is royal with a single challenging eye. I put my fist firmly gripped to the side of my leg so I could lose my mind, she said.

"Who can quit on their own, did they say? Die."

It was like roaring, a voice.

Return to me, Die groans.

"But Dear Mariage,

"May!"

The queen candidate girl, who overwhelmed the die with anger, continued to scream.

"By and large, you're the one who said you couldn't make up! What do you mean you can't touch your face because of me if you listen to me in silence!?

"Yeah, no, 'cause"

"You're not! You said you couldn't!! Ah, um, but!!!

"... excuse me"

There is no objection, I try to fold it up and get angry. In fact, I can't carry on two sentences because she's right.

To the discontinuing die, Mariage spinned the words early in the arrow succession.

"You know, I'm not convinced I blame myself. The victim's side, bug spit, runs."

"Hiccups"

"You think you can handle it if you back off? I hate it when you're such a good girl!

Die stares back at Mariage screaming like that. I don't mean 'good boy' like she says at all. But the shock of being seen that way stood first, and I couldn't even open my mouth for illustration.

"It's not your fault. Don't be complacent."

Mariage, whose nose threw away roughly, puts her hands on her hips and raises her eyes.

"Kilim!"

"Yes."

The deacon, whose name was called, went one step forward from among the wild horses with no expression.

"My stomach hurts. I can't wait to hurt. So say no to today's plans."

With a face that makes me want to ask where the hell anyone is suffering from abdominal pain, Kilim takes on Mariage's orders to use Die's intake wisdom as it is, without moving one eyebrow and leaves the scene.

"Die."

The die, who was dropping off his back, stretched his spine so that he could be played by the sounding voice right beside him. Soon, Mariage is royal up close. She ordered the die to seep through the wrath that overwhelmed the others.

"You just have to wait until I tell you to quit...... you get it!?
