After Ding Yuejun left, Yiyi and Gu Tingyu continued their walk.
"Yiyi, it turned out to be Uncle Wei who helped last time. Why didn’t you mention it?" Gu Tingyu still felt a bit puzzled, so he asked.
Yiyi didn’t hide anything from Gu Tingyu and directly explained the connection between Wei Hanliang and her mother.

Ding Yuejun wasn’t familiar with the Wei Family in Shangjing and only said, "I heard he’s Wei Zixiao’s uncle, the friend of Tingyu who came to our house during Yiyi’s engagement."
"That’s him. So it was him who helped you and your mother back then. You should indeed thank him properly."
Seeing Mr. Ding agree, Ding Yuejun had no more to say, "Dad, then let’s decide on that. We’ll invite him over for a meal at home and I’ll prepare a gift as a gesture of thanks."
"I’ll prepare the gift, don’t worry about it. I’ll also thank him properly." Mr. Ding cared a lot about this matter, as Wei Hanliang was someone who would surely rise higher in the future, worth befriending.

Ding Yuejun smiled at Mr. Ding and then returned to her own courtyard after chatting for a while.

Finally, the family gathered in the dining room for a lively dinner.
Seeing her mother in no distress, Yiyi subtly breathed a sigh of relief. She had considered dining out with Gu Tingyu, but decided to return early, worried about her mother. Unexpectedly, Gu Tingyu had discerned her thoughts and suggested returning early to dine with her mother and grandpa.

Ding Yuejun watched them and felt happiness welling up.
Though her marriage was not happy and eventually ended, the fact that her daughter and Gu Tingyu were blissfully together was all that mattered. After dinner, she promptly let Gu Tingyu visit Yiyi’s room, since the two were already engaged, the closer they were, the better.
Gu Tingyu stayed for quite a while, leaving only when it was late.
After Gu Tingyu left, Ding Yuejun went to her daughter’s room for a chat.
"Er Ya is getting discharged the day after tomorrow. Let’s go pick her up together then."
Yiyi nodded, "Alright, once she’s settled, we’ll be relieved."
"Yes, that child has gone through a lot." Ding Yuejun nodded in agreement, then asked about Gu Tingyu, "Is Tingyu coming again tomorrow? If he is, I’ll make cold noodles for you both."
"Mom, he’s coming tomorrow, but will leave after lunch, then we won’t see each other for another month."

Ding Yuejun saw her daughter’s reaction and said, "Compared to before, Tingyu already has more rest time. You can’t ask for too much. Besides, he moved his work to Shangjing just to see you more often. You should be gratified by this; he’s done a lot for you."
Hearing this, Yiyi replied, "Mom, I know." They shared a smile together.
By next morning, Gu Tingyu arrived. Though he saw Yiyi just yesterday, there’s always plenty to talk about.
Ding Yuejun naturally didn’t disturb them as she busied herself in the kitchen, making cold noodles for lunch.
"Yuejun, your cold noodles are truly delicious."
Mr. Ding finished a whole bowl and couldn’t help but praise.
Gu Tingyu also nodded and said, "Yes, Aunt Ding, your cold noodles are really delicious." Compared to the cold noodles he had before, Ding Yuejun added more ingredients, enhancing the flavor significantly.

"Great, let’s have it again tomorrow."

Mr. Ding heard and didn’t say more, simply instructing the driver to take them there tomorrow.
After chatting, Gu Tingyu left, and the rest dispersed as well.
