Chapter 349 - 348: Crystal Clear
Upon hearing this, the group turned their heads to look back. When they saw Wei Hanliang, Ding Yating and her mother looked somewhat pale. They couldn’t believe that Wei Hanliang would appear here again, making them wonder how much of their conversation he had overheard.
Ding Yuejun, however, didn’t think too much about it. She looked at Wei Hanliang with a bit of confusion and asked, "Why are you out here again? Weren’t you having tea in the living room? Did you forget something?"
Wei Hanliang shook his head and said, "I didn’t forget anything. I just happened to come out to go to the bathroom and overheard you talking."
Upon hearing this, Ding Yuejun quickly said, "The bathroom is over there. Let me take you."
Wei Hanliang nodded, and the two of them walked forward.
As they walked, Wei Hanliang glanced at Ding Yuejun and realized that her appearance hadn’t changed much. She looked almost the same as she did twenty years ago, just a bit more mature, and even more beautiful.
"When did you arrive in Shangjing?"
Ding Yuejun was leading the way when she heard Wei Hanliang’s question. She paused for a moment and then said, "It was about a year ago. Yiyi wanted to come to Shangjing to study, so I came with her, thinking I could take care of her from nearby."
"When were you recognized by the Ding family?"
He had just arrived in Shangjing not long ago. It was also on the day when Ding Yuejun invited him for dinner that he found out she was part of the Ding family; he really didn’t know much about these things.
"About half a year ago. I didn’t expect that following Yiyi to Shangjing would lead me to find family."
"Finding family is a good thing. I can see Mr. Ding really likes you and Yiyi, so you don’t have to worry about anyone else."
Hearing this, Ding Yuejun looked at Wei Hanliang in surprise. Was he comforting her?
"Thank you. I won’t mind those who are at odds with me."
Seeing that Ding Yuejun was open-minded, Wei Hanliang nodded.
Soon they saw the bathroom ahead, and Wei Hanliang said to Ding Yuejun, "I’ll find my way back later. You can go ahead and get busy."
Hearing this, Ding Yuejun nodded and turned back.
Wei Hanliang glanced at Ding Yuejun’s departing figure and then entered the bathroom.
Meanwhile, when Ding Yuejun returned, Ding Yating and her mother had already left, while Yiyi stayed to help. However, the dishes were mostly cleaned up. The two of them finished the final clean-up and then returned to their courtyard.
"Mom, you’ve worked hard today. Go and rest for a bit."
Ding Yuejun shook her head and said to Yiyi, "You should take a nap. I’m not tired yet; I’ll go check up front later."
"Mom, let me go with you."
"No need. You just go rest." Ding Yuejun smiled and stroked her daughter’s hair, saying, "I’ve noticed you’ve been looking a bit tired these days. Is the pharmaceutical factory keeping you busy?"
Hearing this, Yiyi smiled and said, "Yes, it’s been a bit busy."
"Then go and rest."
Seeing this, Yiyi didn’t insist and went back to her room to rest.
Meanwhile, Ding Yuejun went to the kitchen up front.
Actually, she had prepared some pastries today, but she didn’t bring them out earlier since the dishes were enough. Now that Mr. Ding and the others were having tea, it was the perfect time to serve them.
When Ding Yuejun brought in the pastries, Mr. Ding and the others were talking. Seeing the exquisite pastries, they couldn’t help but eat a couple of pieces.
"Yue Jun, did you make these too? I’ve never seen them before." Though Mr. Ding had just eaten his fill, he couldn’t resist tasting these delicate snacks, and was left wanting more.
Wei Hanliang also tried two pieces, and his plate was soon empty.
Shu Mingbo, sitting beside him, praised, "I didn’t expect Big Sis to be so skilled. These pastries taste better than takeout."
"If you like them, you can take some home with you."
Hearing this, Shu Mingbo naturally nodded, "Thank you, Big Sis."
At this time, Wei Hanliang asked, "Could I also take a box home when I leave?"
He actually had a little secret he didn’t share much; he had a sweet tooth, but it was somewhat embarrassing to admit, so not many were aware. Today, after tasting these pastries which couldn’t be found outside, he couldn’t help but eat more.
Ding Yuejun, having noticed the empty plate in front of him earlier, quickly smiled and said, "Of course, I made plenty today, enough for everyone to enjoy."
After another cup of tea, everyone dispersed.
Ding Yuejun had already packed the pastries, handing one box to Wei Hanliang and another to Shu Mingbo.
After bidding farewell to Mr. Ding, Wei Hanliang left, while Shu Mingbo took the pastries to his wife Ding Yating’s courtyard.
When he saw the mother and daughter, he cheerfully said, "Let’s head back as well."
Today, his relationship with his father-in-law had slightly improved, and seeing Wei Hanliang also put him in a good mood.
However, after he finished talking, there was no response from Ding Yating or Shu Yunfang.
Confused, Shu Mingbo looked at his wife and asked, "What’s wrong, don’t you want to go back?"

"Grandpa, did you take a nap at noon?"

"Yiyi, this should be the Medicine Valley you mentioned earlier, but we haven’t explored it thoroughly yet."
Hearing this, Yiyi looked at the map in front of her and noticed that Mr. Ding had circled a spot in red, making it clear at a glance.
