Chapter 332 - 331: I’m Not Busy
Yiyi saw that Tao Cuizhu was ready, and without saying much more, she directly led her to the pharmaceutical factory in the East Suburb.
"Yiyi, how did you know this factory is hiring? Are you working here this summer too?" On the way, Tao Cuizhu couldn’t help but ask out of curiosity.
Upon hearing this, Yiyi smiled and said, "I founded this pharmaceutical factory myself, so of course I’ll be here during the summer."
"Ah..."
Hearing Yiyi’s words, Tao Cuizhu looked at her in complete shock, still displaying disbelief on her face, "That... that factory is founded by you? Aren’t you still studying, just like us?"
"Actually, when I was still in high school, I opened a medicine shop back home. Now that I’m in Shangjing, I relocated it here."
"You... you’re really amazing."
Tao Cuizhu could only manage to say this, looking at Yiyi with eyes full of admiration.
"You hadn’t even entered college by then. How did you think of opening a medicine shop and even manage to relocate it to Shangjing? You’re truly remarkable."
Yiyi couldn’t help but laugh when hearing this, "Actually, I was just lucky. I happened to know the old owner of a reputable traditional Chinese medicine clinic, which helped me smoothly open the shop."
"No matter what, it’s impressive that you managed to open a medicine shop by yourself. Even with help, it’s not something anyone can just do."
Yiyi laughed gently at this, not saying much more.
Both soon arrived at the Wuming Pharmaceutical Factory, where Mo Ping was already waiting outside. Seeing Yiyi and Tao Cuizhu approaching, he quickly stepped forward to greet them, "Little boss, you’ve arrived."
Upon seeing Mo Ping, Yiyi introduced him to Tao Cuizhu, "This is Mo Ping, the factory director. If you encounter any issues, you can go to him."
"Hello, Director Mo."
Mo Ping quickly replied, "Hello, hello. Since you’re the little boss’s classmate, you can just call me Uncle Mo instead of Director Mo."
Tao Cuizhu looked questioningly at Yiyi.
Yiyi laughed and said, "Then just call him Uncle Mo."
"Uncle Mo."
Seeing Yiyi’s encouragement, Tao Cuizhu smoothly called him Uncle Mo.
Mo Ping chuckled and led them into the factory.
"Classmate Tao, the little boss has informed me that you’ll be working here during the summer. I’ve found a mentor for you, so she can help familiarize you with our factory’s operations. Soon you’ll be able to work independently."
"Thank you, Uncle Mo."
Tao Cuizhu quickly expressed her gratitude.
Mo Ping then showed them around the factory, inside and out, before reporting the situation to Yiyi.
Yiyi listened attentively, providing her own opinions as she listened.
Upon hearing Yiyi’s insights, Mo Ping had to admire the little boss’s foresight, "Great, I’ll follow your advice then. It’ll definitely work."
Tao Cuizhu was witnessing this side of Yiyi for the first time, making her regard her with some admiration.
She finally understood why Yiyi could establish a pharmaceutical factory by herself—it turned out she had this aspect to her, being clear-headed about everything, able to offer guidance for the factory’s matters. To think such talent was right beside her; she used to only perceive Yiyi’s academic excellence, but her leadership abilities surpassed that.
Naturally, Yiyi noticed Tao Cuizhu’s gaze and asked, "Why are you looking at me like that?"
"Oh, nothing, I just think you’re especially amazing."
Mo Ping nodded in agreement, saying, "Yes, our little boss is truly remarkable—not only skilled in pharmaceuticals but also able to offer insightful views on many matters, enlightening me as well."
Hearing their praise, Yiyi couldn’t help but feel a bit helpless, then she said to Mo Ping, "Alright, why don’t you take Cui Zhu to see her work station now?"
Tao Cuizhu didn’t harbor any familial sentiments after learning the factory is Yiyi’s creation; she turned to Mo Ping and said, "Uncle Mo, since I’m going to work here, I should go through the evaluation process. Let’s start with a simple interview."
Yiyi quickly laughed and said, "There’s no rush. Why not check out your work environment first? What if you change your mind after seeing it?"
"How could that be?"
Tao Cuizhu quickly waved off the thought and followed Mo Ping forward. When she found out her job involved handling documents, she felt a bit disappointed, but her spirits lifted when she realized the documents were related to medicinal materials.
"Yiyi, thank you for assigning me such a good job."
Hearing this, Yiyi quickly waved and said, "This wasn’t my arrangement; it was all organized by Mo Ping."
"Thank you, Uncle Mo."
Tao Cuizhu grinned and thanked Mo Ping before asking him to start her interview.
Seeing Tao Cuizhu’s serious expression, Mo Ping carried out the interview thoroughly.
Though he knew Tao Cuizhu was the little boss’s classmate, and therefore probably experienced, students inherently might lack some maturity—however, Tao Cuizhu proved to be quite competent.
"You’ve passed the interview. Welcome to our Wuming Pharmaceutical Factory. Do you intend to start work today, or come by tomorrow?"
Without a moment’s thought, Tao Cuizhu said, "I’ll start working today."
Hearing this, Mo Ping didn’t say much, replying directly, "Alright, I’ll get the person to guide you over now." Yiyi asked at this point, "Cui Zhu, are you really so eager to start working? Why don’t you settle into your dormitory first, as the factory has accommodations you can use while working here."
After the school holidays, dormitories would only allow students to stay for another week, after which they wouldn’t be allowed, so Yiyi had already arranged a dormitory for Tao Cuizhu.
Upon hearing this, Tao Cuizhu’s eyes lit up.
"There’s a dormitory here? That’s wonderful."
Mo Ping spoke directly upon hearing this, "Then start work tomorrow, you can unpack your things today, and when you’re ready, I’ll take you to see your dormitory."
"Alright, thank you, Uncle Mo."
Afterwards, Yiyi took Tao Cuizhu back to school once more to pack their things properly before returning to the factory.
"Here is your dormitory. Most people living here are locals, so not many use accommodations. You’ll have a room to yourself." Seeing the neat and tidy dormitory, Tao Cuizhu grinned broadly, realizing her luck at being able to find such a good part-time job for the summer.
"Yiyi, thanks for today. Over the next two months, I’ll definitely work hard."
"Alright."
Yiyi nodded with a smile and chatted a little more with Tao Cuizhu before heading home.
Old Master Ding saw Yiyi return and quickly asked, "Why did you come back so late today; you’ve been out all day." "Took a classmate to my pharmaceutical factory for a tour," Yiyi explained, then looked curiously at Old Master Ding and asked, "Grandpa, are you not busy today?" She had always heard he used to keep busy.
"I’m not busy; I have time to spend eating and chatting with you and your mother every day, so try to come home early when you don’t have plans." In the past, he was indeed busy, but since reconnecting with his eldest daughter, he shifted his focus to the family.
