The Reincarnated Hitman

Chapter 72: Zero’s Biggest Fan

Sable held the phone to his ear with a small frown on his face; he wasn’t really worried about the threat, after all, even the HA didn’t have proof that his agent murdered a hero.

But it seems the kid had a plan, and that involved meeting Michael.

"I’ll set up the meeting for tonight," Sable finally responded, causing the Senior Investigator to let out a smile. "Then I’ll be waiting for the details."

With that, the call was ended, and Sable finally turned towards the kid and asked, "Are you sure about this?"

"Yup," Zero nodded as he observed the cleaning of Sable’s house continue, "this way I can get him off my back until I handle the Splinters."

"I see," Sable nodded, deciding to trust the kid for now.

Zero, on the other hand, placed a hand on his chin as he thought of the meeting tonight.

He understood why Michael wanted to know if Zero was Liam; after all, Liam had a lot of visible weaknesses that they could use against him.

If he turned out to be dangerous, the HA would just use his siblings to get him under control, and given his reputation in the grey market so far, he’d be a useful asset to them.

Perhaps they could even use him to secretly take down groups they cannot publicly move against.

He’d be their personal grey market in a single person.

"I’d be damned if I become anyone’s pawn," Zero let out with a frown on his face.

"You’re here again," Zero was pulled out of his thoughts by a familiar voice.

He looked ahead and spotted the pink-haired Cleaner approaching with literal stars in her eyes.

This time, their leader was too busy to stop her.

After all, the massacre from the previous night wasn’t something that could be easily cleaned up.

"I couldn’t introduce myself the last time," she stopped in front of him and extended her hand, "I’m Rose, a member of the greatest cleaning crew in the grey market and your biggest fan."

"I’m Zero," Zero responded as he shook her hand with a smile on his face, "a hitman."

Rose heard none of what he said as her hand was completely focused on his hand, and she was only a second away from drooling.

"T-the hand that Zero uses to execute those perfect kills," she let out as she lifted it towards her face and asked, "m-may I bite it?"

"Huh?" Zero let out in confusion; fortunately, there was another Cleaner around to properly explain her weird behavior.

"Her Factor allows her to temporarily copy the skills of the person she drinks blood from," a boy seemingly the same age as Liam approached them; he had a head full of red hair and eyes. "In your case, I’m guessing it’s the way you kill.

Chomp!

Before the newly arrived cleaner could properly finish his words, Rose proceeded to bite Zero’s hand.

"..."

The hitman looked at her with a blank expression as he asked, "Is she some sort of vampire?"

"Close enough," the other cleaner answered with a chuckle as they watched Rose continue drinking the hitman’s blood.

Zero was quite curious about how her factor worked, so he let her drink until she was satisfied.

Rose’s pink eyes started glowing before she released his hand with a blush now on her cheeks.

"T-this is amazing," she stuttered, as she looked at Zero, "you’re even more amazing than I thought."

Zero nodded as he closely watched her; she was behaving the same, but her micro actions now seemed a lot more controlled, almost as if she was prepared for any sudden attack.

It felt as if he was looking at a reflection....that is, if his reflection was a vampire girl.

"Can I see what you copied from me?" He requested with a curious expression on his face.

"I’d love to," Rose said with excitement before looking around, and her mood immediately dropped, "but there are no training dummies around."

By training dummies, she meant live humans she would be allowed to kill with the skills she just copied from the hitman.

"I’ll provide one," Zero said, willing to create a clone to just satisfy his curiosity.

Though, since he was currently maintaining clones, his Pragma reserves weren’t the most optimal right now, but he didn’t need to spend too much on maintaining a new clone.

He could just make it a Pragma battery whilst spending as little as possible to control it.

"Really?" Rose let out, "who?"

"You’ll find out later," The hitman responded as he turned towards Sable and asked, "I’m guessing you have some sort of training room in your house?"

"What makes you think that?" The agent asked with a small frown on his face.

"Because it’ll be quite convenient for this moment," Zero replied with a shrug.

The grey market agent looked at him for a while before letting out a sigh and turning towards his assistant, "Lead them to the training room."

"Called it," the hitman said with a grin as the assistant led them towards the training room.

The four headed into the house, leaving the cleaning to the others.

The training room was located beneath the main house, and as soon as the door opened, Zero raised an eyebrow.

It was a lot bigger than he had expected, and it seemed built to withstand a full-on battle...there were even reinforced walls around.

"Not bad," Zero muttered as he stepped inside.

Sable’s assistant walked over to a control panel beside the entrance and activated the room.

The lights flickered on one after another, illuminating the entire chamber.

Rose, however, barely paid attention to the room itself. Her eyes immediately began scanning the area for something specific.

"So, where’s my training dummy?" she asked.

"Patience," Zero said with a smile as he walked towards one of the doors, which he assumed was a changing room.

Rose watched him enter it with a confused expression, but when he walked out a couple of minutes later, he wasn’t alone.

Walking beside him was a man with generic brown hair and eyes,

Zero stopped a small distance away from Rose before saying, "Here’s your training dummy."
