Chapter 385: Newlyweds!!
The rear door of the truck slowly opened.
For a moment, everyone expected another gift box, perhaps some expensive artwork, or maybe a collection of luxury items.
Instead, something far more spectacular appeared.
A hydraulic platform slowly lowered from the truck.
Lights reflected across a flawless metallic body.
Gasps echoed throughout the lawn.
A stunning supercar rolled out into view.
Its sleek curves, iconic silhouette, and timeless design instantly captured everyone’s attention.
Even those who knew nothing about automobiles found themselves staring.
It looked less like a car and more like a work of art.
The entire reception area fell silent.
Then Chase’s eyes nearly popped out of their sockets.
"That’s the McLaren F1!"
He pointed at the vehicle with excitement.
"Its the first time I am actually seeing this!"
Cole blinked.
"I don’t even know about this thing."
Chase immediately turned toward him.
"You uncultured man."
"What?"
"Do you know how legendary this car is?"
Cole looked at the vehicle.
Then looked at Chase.
Then back at the vehicle.
"It has wheels."
Chase almost collapsed.
Nearby, Gordon coughed.
"This brat."
He shook his head.
"I thought my present was the best."
Timothy chuckled from his wheelchair.
"It is the era of the younger generation."
Dion stared at the car.
"Damn."
His eyes remained fixed on it.
"What a beauty."
A second later Flora pinched his arm.
"Ouch!"
Dion rubbed his shoulder.
"I was talking about the car."
Flora folded her arms.
"Sure."
Daniel was also looking impressed.
Elena glanced at him.
"Do you know anything about it?"
Daniel nodded.
"That’s a popular race car."
He looked at the vehicle again.
"Cost millions of dollars."
Elena immediately looked shocked.
"Millions?"
Daniel nodded.
Elena then looked toward Nicholas.
Then toward Miles.
Then back toward Nicholas.
"I didn’t know he was friends with the President’s son too."
Miles was just as surprised as everyone else.
He looked at Nicholas.
"What do you mean, Nick?"
Nicholas spread his arms.
"What?"
"Don’t you like it?"
He pointed toward the McLaren.
"It’s your wedding gift."
The entire lawn became silent again.
Several guests nearly dropped their drinks.
"A wedding gift?"
"That car?"
"Is he serious?"
Even Chloe looked stunned.
Miles stared at the car.
Then at Nicholas.
Then back at the car.
"But that’s so expensive."
"How can I accept it?"
Nicholas immediately put on an exaggerated expression of heartbreak.
"Are you going to break my heart now?"
Several people laughed.
Then Nicholas smiled.
"Well, it was Dad’s plan."
"He said it is kind of compensation for the last incident."
Miles sighed.
Sometimes arguing with powerful people was pointless.
"I will take it then."
A smile appeared on his face.
"Thanks."
Then his expression suddenly changed.
He looked at the car again.
Then at Nicholas.
A realization appeared in his eyes.
"Wait."
Nicholas smirked.
Miles narrowed his eyes.
"Why bring an F1 car?"
"Don’t tell me..."
Nicholas grinned wider.
"So you guessed it."
Miles stared at him.
"Did you really?"
Nicholas nodded proudly.
"Yep."
Then he crossed his arms.
"We are going to fulfill our long dream."
Many guests became curious.
Nicholas pointed dramatically into the distance.
"To open an F1 race track."
The lawn became completely silent.
Even Chase stopped breathing for a moment.
Nicholas continued.
"I got approval from Formula One management as well as FIA."
Miles looked genuinely shocked.
For once, he seemed speechless.
"I thought it would take years."
Nicholas laughed.
"So did I."
Miles looked thoughtful.
"What place?"
Nicholas immediately pointed at him.
"That you decide."
Then he spoke loudly.
"Miles Sterling."
"You are going to invest half."
A laugh escaped Miles.
"Of course I will."
Nicholas nodded.
"Star Harbor is a perfect place."
Miles looked around the city.
A smile slowly appeared.
"Then it’s time to expand this city."
Several business leaders exchanged glances.
Even Victor Wraithbourne looked interested.
Joshua Ainsley raised an eyebrow.
General Wilfred smiled.
The idea sounded ambitious.
But if these two were involved, it suddenly felt possible.
Nicholas then took a thick file from one of his security personnel.
Instead of handing it to Chloe.
"Congratulations, you two."
He handed over the file respectfully.
"Sister in law."
"This file contains our teenage dream."
He pointed toward Miles.
"Mine and your husband’s."
A nostalgic smile appeared on his face.
"I’ll just give this to you."
Chloe accepted it carefully.
"Thank you."
Around them, people remained speechless.
The conversation had somehow evolved from a wedding gift into the announcement of an international race track project.
Chase rubbed his forehead.
"They are building an F1 track."
Cole nodded slowly.
"I think these rich people live in a different universe."
Sophia agreed immediately.
"Definitely."
Dion suddenly cleared his throat.
Then he walked forward dramatically.
"Well, well."
He pointed toward Nicholas.
"Mr. President’s Son."
Nicholas didn’t turn. .
"Did you forget this is a wedding and not a business conference?"
Nicholas immediately raised both hands.
"My apologies, everyone."
He looked around the crowd.
"Please continue enjoying yourselves."
Then he pointed toward the buffet area.
"I will also grab some food."
His expression became serious.
"Father specifically told me not to miss the food."
Everyone laughed..
Even Timothy and Gordon were smiling.
Miles shook his head.
"Thank you for coming, Nick."
Nicholas smiled.
"It means you’ll also come to mine in the future."
Miles instantly understood what he meant.
"Of course."
Nicholas nodded in satisfaction.
Then he turned around.
His gaze suddenly landed on Dion and Flora.
For a moment he looked thoughtful.
Then a grin spread across his face.
"It’s you."
Dion looked confused.
Nicholas pointed at him.
"I was wondering who was shouting earlier."
Dion coughed awkwardly.
"Well... apologies."
Nicholas chuckled.
Then he looked toward Flora.
His expression became much warmer.
"Looks like you fulfilled your dreams too."
"Congratulations, both of you."
Then he smiled at Flora.
"Nice to see you alive and kicking, Miss Flora."
Flora grinned.
"Likewise."
Nicholas laughed.
"All thanks to you."
Dion nodded.
"Likewise."
For a brief moment, the three shared a look that carried memories of old adventures and dangerous times.
Miles watched the exchange.
Then he cleared his throat loudly.
Instantly all three looked toward him.
Nicholas looked innocent.
Flora looked innocent.
Dion tried his best to look innocent.
Nobody believed him.
The wedding day had finally come to an end.
The laughter that had filled Pearl Villa since morning was gradually fading.
The music had stopped.
The lights still glowed warmly across the lawn, illuminating the decorations that had witnessed countless smiles, tears, and blessings throughout the day.
One by one, guests began departing.
Daniel and Elena personally saw them off at the entrance, thanking each person for attending.
Miles joined them whenever he could, shaking hands, exchanging hugs, and receiving endless congratulations.
Nicholas Abbott was exactly as expected.
The last person to arrive.
And somehow the first important guest to leave.
Before entering his vehicle, he pointed at Miles.
"Don’t forget our project."
Miles laughed.
"I won’t."
Nicholas nodded in satisfaction.
Then he pointed at Chloe.
"Take care of him."
Chloe smiled.
"I will."
"Good."
And just like that, the President’s son disappeared into the night.
Meiling and Wang Yi also prepared to leave.
Before departing, Wang Yi hugged Chloe warmly.
"You must visit my village someday."
Chloe smiled.
"I would love that."
"It is the most beautiful place I know."
Wang Yi glanced at Miles.
Miles raised both hands.
"I am being attacked."
The women laughed.
Chloe exchanged contact information with her.
Promises were made.
Future conversations about art, animation, and painting were already being planned.
Meiling looked at the newly married couple and smiled proudly.
"You both look happy."
Miles nodded.
"We are."
"Good."
She gently patted his shoulder.
"Continue walking the path you chose."
Soon after, they departed.
Commander Ray and the Graveyard elders left as well.
The old soldiers offered their blessings in their own rough manner.
Some patted Miles’ shoulder.
Some shook his hand.
Others simply nodded.
Yet all of them carried genuine warmth.
Before leaving, Ray looked at Chloe.
"Take care of him."
Chloe smiled.
"I will, Uncle Ray."
The commander instantly looked pleased.
The other elders burst into laughter.
"There he goes again."
"Look at that smile."
"The commander is getting soft."
Ray glared at them.
"Get in the cars."
The elders laughed even harder.
Eventually they departed into the night.
Edna Winslow decided to remain for one more evening.
She would spend the night with Olivia before returning home the next day.
Grandmaster Lucian had already invited Olivia back.
The city guests departed.
Business associates left.
College friends and their families headed home.
Victor Wraithbourne and General Wilfred spent some time speaking with Timothy before finally leaving.
Louis returned to his new home in Star Harbor.
Chase and his group decided to stay one more night.
They planned to leave the following morning.
Edwin would also depart then.
Gordon, David, and Birdie made a different decision.
They wanted to remain in Pearl Villa for several more days.
After all, Timothy had finally awakened.
There were years of conversations waiting to happen.
Calum unfortunately had a flight that very night.
After saying his goodbyes and wishing the couple happiness, he left for the airport.
Slowly, the once crowded villa became peaceful.
Quiet.
Comfortable.
Everyone was exhausted.
The staff had already prepared every guest room.
Even the most energetic people looked ready to collapse into bed.
Standing outside the villa entrance, Miles looked around one final time.
The decorations still shimmered softly.
The night air felt cool and refreshing.
Beside him stood Daniel and Elena.
For a few moments, none of them spoke.
Simply enjoying the peaceful atmosphere.
Then Miles smiled.
"Mom."
"How about you and Father take some rest now?"
"You both look exhausted."
Daniel laughed.
"We will."
Elena nodded.
Then she looked at her son carefully.
"Son."
Miles turned toward her.
"Hmm?"
Elena smiled softly.
"This place is new to her."
"Don’t let her feel like she doesn’t belong."
Miles immediately understood.
His gaze softened.
"Mom."
He gently squeezed her shoulder.
"Because of you, she already feels like family here."
"I promise."
"I will take care of her."
Elena looked relieved.
Daniel chuckled.
"Just take it easy, son."
Miles looked at him.
Daniel continued.
"Life will become normal again."
"Busy again."
"You two are still very young."
"We don’t really want you carrying every responsibility immediately."
Miles listened quietly.
Daniel smiled.
"Whatever you do, don’t let work consume your entire life."
"Travel."
"Go on vacations."
"Create memories."
"Those are the things you’ll treasure later."
Miles nodded.
"Thanks for the advice, Father."
Daniel patted his shoulder.
"Anytime."
Elena smiled.
"Now go get changed."
"Those wedding clothes look heavy."
"They are."
Everyone laughed.
Together they entered the villa.
The moment they stepped into the living room, the atmosphere instantly became warm.
Heartwarming.
Beautiful.
Hope and Asher were asleep on the couch.
Completely exhausted.
Their small heads rested comfortably on Chloe’s lap.
Both children were sleeping peacefully.
Meanwhile Chloe remained awake.
A gentle smile rested on her face as she slowly ran her fingers through their hair.
Giving them little scalp massages.
Completely unaware that everyone was watching her.
Elena instantly lowered her voice.
"Shshhsh."
Daniel smiled.
Miles smiled too.
The sight was simply too precious.
Chloe finally noticed them.
She looked up.
Then whispered.
"Looks like they were the most tired today."
"They had endless energy all day."
Elena placed both hands over her heart.
"So adorable."
Miles quietly took out his phone.
Click.
The picture was captured forever.
Chloe blinked.
"Hey?"
Miles quickly hid the phone.
"Evidence."
Chloe shook her head helplessly.
Daniel stepped forward.
"Let me take care of them."
He gently lifted Asher.
The little boy immediately curled against him.
Still asleep.
Elena carefully picked up Hope.
The little girl mumbled something unintelligible before continuing her sleep.
Daniel smiled.
"You are exhausted too, dear."
"Go rest."
Elena nodded.
"Yes."
Then she looked at Chloe.
"I adjusted Miles’ room."
"There is plenty of space for your belongings now."
"Someone will bring everything tomorrow."
Chloe smiled warmly.
"Thank you, Mom."
Then she looked at Daniel.
"You should rest too, Father."
Daniel laughed.
"Good night, newlyweds."
"Sweet dreams."
Elena immediately nudged him.
"Stop teasing them."
"Let’s go."
Daniel continued laughing as the two disappeared down the hallway carrying the sleeping twins.
The villa became quiet once again.
Only Miles and Chloe remained in the living room.
A comfortable silence settled between them.
Then Miles dramatically collapsed onto the couch beside her.
Chloe laughed.
He looked at her.
"So, Mrs. Sterling."
A shy smile appeared on Chloe’s face.
"How are you feeling now?"
Her cheeks turned slightly red.
"Finally..."
"I can call you husband."
Miles smiled.
"That sounds nice."
"It does."
They looked at each other.
For a moment neither could stop smiling.
Then Miles sighed.
"From today onward we’re living together."
"My mother even threw my things into the study room."
Chloe burst into laughter.
"Really?"
"I was evicted."
"You poor thing."
Chloe lowered her gaze.
Then spoke softly.
"I promise."
"I’ll be a good wife."
Miles’ expression softened.
"You already are."
Her cheeks immediately turned red.
Trying to change the topic, Miles continued.
"Father said we’re too young to carry every responsibility."
"He told us to enjoy life."
"Travel."
"Go on vacations."
"Create memories."
Chloe smiled.
"He is so thoughtful."
"He is."
A comfortable silence followed.
Then Chloe glanced toward the hallway where the twins had disappeared.
"Hope and Asher slept on my lap."
"I felt so happy."
"They are such cuties."
Miles smiled.
"So are you."
Chloe immediately looked away.
"You’re unfair."
Miles laughed.
"Are you tired?"
Chloe groaned dramatically.
"So much."
"I still have to remove all these hairpins."
She touched her elaborate hairstyle.
"It feels like there are hundreds."
Miles nodded seriously.
"I’ll help."
Chloe looked at him.
A shy smile appeared.
"You should."
Miles stood up.
Then extended a hand.
"Can you walk?"
Chloe looked confused.
"Of course I can."
Miles shook his head.
"Just imagine you can’t."
"What is that supposed to mean?"
Before she could react, Miles gently slipped one arm beneath her knees and another behind her back.
Then effortlessly lifted her into his arms.
Chloe gasped.
"Miles!"
Instinctively she wrapped her arms around his neck.
Her face instantly turned bright red.
"Someone will see us!"
Miles started walking toward the staircase.
"So what?"
He looked down at her.
"You are my wife."
Chloe buried her face against his shoulder.
"You’re impossible."
Miles grinned.
"Let’s go upstairs."
"I promised to help with the hairpins."
Chloe peeked up at him.
"When did you become such a bad boy?"
Miles looked genuinely confused.
"Bad boy?"
"I’m just trying to help."
Chloe laughed softly as he carried her upstairs.
For the first time as husband and wife.
Toward the room that would now become their home.
