Chapter 382: Where Our Forever Begins!!!
The music changed.
The gentle melody that had filled the lawn slowly faded into something softer, warmer, almost dreamlike.
Every conversation stopped.
Every eye turned toward the entrance of Pearl Villa.
And then she appeared.
Chloe stepped onto the aisle with her grandfather Louis beside her.
For a moment, the entire garden seemed to forget how to breathe.
She wore an elegant white wedding gown that flowed gracefully around her, the fabric catching the gentle afternoon light with every step. The long veil rested over her hair before falling softly behind her shoulders. A delicate arrangement of flowers rested in one hand, while the other was gently held by Louis.
She looked less like an ordinary bride and more like a princess who had stepped out of a forgotten kingdom.
Yet Chloe did not look at the guests.
She did not look at the decorations.
She did not look at the priest.
Her eyes searched only for one person.
Miles.
And the moment she found him, everything else disappeared.
Miles was already looking at her.
His calm expression had completely changed.
There was something warm in his eyes that none of his closest friends had ever seen during a mission, a negotiation, or even the most dangerous moments of his life.
A smile slowly appeared on his face.
Chloe’s lips curved into a shy smile in return.
Hope, who was still standing beside Miles, gently tapped his hand.
She leaned closer and whispered.
"Big bro..."
Miles looked down.
Hope pointed toward Chloe.
"She looks so pretty."
Miles looked back at Chloe.
"She is."
Hope smiled.
Asher looked between the two of them and nodded seriously, as though he had just witnessed a very important agreement.
"Very pretty."
Miles chuckled softly.
"Yes. Very pretty."
A few people nearby heard them and smiled.
Elena pressed both hands against her heart.
Her eyes had already become moist.
Daniel noticed and gently placed his hand over hers.
"Are you alright?"
Elena nodded.
"I am more than alright."
She looked at Miles.
"My little boy..."
Her voice became softer.
"He finally found his happiness."
Daniel smiled.
"He did."
A few seats away, Edna Winslow watched Chloe walk down the aisle.
"She is definitely a princess."
Olivia nodded.
"Yes."
Then she glanced at Miles.
"And Miles is no less than a prince."
Edna smiled.
"Perhaps that is why they look so perfect together."
Flora, sitting beside Dion who still has a mic in his hand, leaned slightly forward.
"So beautiful."
Dion smiled.
"You were beautiful too."
Flora immediately looked at him.
"Are you trying to survive today?"
Dion laughed quietly.
"I am simply appreciating beautiful brides."
Flora narrowed her eyes.
"Choose your next words carefully."
Dion immediately raised both hands.
"I meant my wife is the most beautiful."
Flora smiled.
"Better."
Their little exchange made the people sitting nearby laugh.
But most of the attention remained on Chloe.
She continued walking.
Every step brought her closer to Miles.
At the same time, the guests were quietly admiring her.
Wang Yi leaned toward Meiling.
"When he said she was the prettiest, he was not wrong."
Meiling looked at her with amusement.
"You asked him out?"
Wang Yi immediately became embarrassed.
"Once."
Meiling raised an eyebrow.
"And?"
"I was turned down."
Meiling smiled.
"And you still admire him?"
Wang Yi shrugged.
"Why not? He is a good person."
Meiling looked toward Miles and Chloe.
"Perhaps you were never supposed to stand beside him."
Wang Yi smiled.
"Looking at them now, I think you are right."
The procession continued.
Behind Chloe came the bridesmaids.
Alice walked gracefully, followed by Kate.
Then came Celina, Rose and Becky.
Isabelle and Sophia followed them.
The group looked stunning together.
Their dresses complemented Chloe without taking attention away from her.
A few guests whispered among themselves.
"Those are not ordinary women."
"I recognize some of them."
"Aren’t several of them extremely influential?"
Another guest looked around the garden.
"Almost every powerful young figure in the city is here."
Someone else whispered.
"That is the point."
"What do you mean?"
"Look at the guest list."
The man lowered his voice.
"The city’s biggest players are here. Business families, security organizations, political connections, international guests..."
He looked toward Miles.
"And somehow, all of them are here for him."
His companion smiled.
"Whatever these people are outside, tonight he is the boss."
The whispers slowly faded as Chloe reached the stage.
Louis gently walked beside her until they reached Miles.
Miles took one small step forward.
Their eyes met again.
For a brief moment, neither of them spoke.
Chloe’s cheeks had turned slightly red.
Miles smiled.
"You look beautiful."
Chloe lowered her eyes.
"Thank you."
Louis looked between them.
"Young man, you can tell her that again after the ceremony."
The guests laughed.
Miles smiled.
"I will."
Chloe handed her flowers to Alice.
Alice accepted them with a bright smile and stepped aside.
Dion looked around at the audience.
He raised the microphone.
"I have seen a lot of stunned faces today."
The guests laughed.
Dion pointed toward Miles.
"If my brother looks like a prince..."
He turned toward Chloe.
"Then our sister in law should obviously be a princess."
The applause came immediately.
Chloe smiled shyly.
Miles shook his head.
Dion grinned.
"Alright, alright. I will stop embarrassing everyone."
Flora whispered.
"You will never stop."
Dion looked at her.
"That is true."
Another wave of laughter spread through the guests.
Timothy sat quietly at the side of the stage.
His eyes remained fixed on Miles.
There was an indescribable pride in his expression.
For years, he had missed so much.
He had missed Miles growing up.
He had missed his childhood.
But today, he was here.
He could see his grandson standing before the woman he loved.
And for Timothy, that was enough to make every breath feel precious.
Louis looked toward Timothy and smiled.
Timothy returned the smile.
Two old men who had lived through entirely different storms now sat together watching a new Chapter begin.
Dion lowered the microphone slightly.
"I will not speak much."
Everyone immediately laughed.
Dion looked offended.
"What?"
Rose whispered from the bridesmaids’ side.
"Nobody believes you."
Dion laughed.
"Fine. I will genuinely keep it short."
He looked at Miles.
"Brother, get ready."
Miles raised an eyebrow.
"For what?"
Dion smiled.
"To be bound forever."
The guests laughed again.
"And believe me, if there is anything you want to say, say it now."
Dion looked at Chloe.
"Because after this, you will need permission."
Chloe covered her mouth while laughing.
Miles shook his head.
"That is terrible advice."
Dion shrugged.
"I am married. I speak from experience."
Flora immediately looked at him.
"Do you want me to remind everyone who controls our house?"
Dion became quiet.
The guests burst into laughter.
Even Timothy laughed.
Louis shook his head.
"Young people."
The priest smiled as the laughter settled.
Then the atmosphere slowly became solemn again.
The priest stepped forward.
The music faded into a soft instrumental melody.
The wedding had officially begun.
The priest welcomed everyone to the ceremony and spoke about marriage, commitment, trust and the promise two people make before God and the people they love.
The entire lawn became quiet.
The sunlight filtered gently through the trees surrounding Pearl Villa.
Flowers decorated the aisle on both sides.
White petals covered portions of the path where Chloe had walked.
Small lights had been placed around the garden, waiting for evening when they would turn the entire villa into a glowing celebration.
But at that moment, nobody was thinking about the decorations.
Everyone was focused on the couple.
The priest began the opening prayer.
"Today, we gather in gratitude and joy to witness the union of Miles and Chloe."
Chloe gently held Miles’ hand.
Miles squeezed her fingers.
The priest continued.
"Marriage is not merely the joining of two lives. It is the promise to walk together through every season, through happiness and sorrow, through strength and weakness, through moments of certainty and moments of doubt."
Elena closed her eyes.
Daniel gently held her hand.
Timothy listened carefully.
The priest continued with the scripture reading.
The words spoke about love that remained patient, love that remained kind, love that did not seek its own advantage, love that endured hardship and continued to hope.
The guests listened quietly.
Chloe looked at Miles.
She knew that their story had not been perfect.
There had been distance.
Secrets.
Pain.
Lost years.
Fear.
Regret.
But somehow, after everything, they had found their way back to each other.
Miles looked at her and smiled.
He did not need words to tell her what he was thinking.
She understood.
The priest finished the reading and closed the book.
"May the foundation of your marriage be stronger than the storms that brought you here."
The priest looked at them.
"And may the love you share today continue to grow with every passing year."
A gentle round of applause followed.
The priest turned toward Miles.
"Miles, please face Chloe."
Miles turned completely toward her.
For the first time since stepping onto the aisle, Chloe looked nervous.
Miles noticed.
He leaned slightly closer.
"Are you alright?"
Chloe smiled.
"Now I am."
The priest smiled.
"Miles, do you take Chloe to be your wife?"
Miles looked directly into her eyes.
"I do."
The answer was simple.
But the certainty behind it made Chloe’s eyes shine.
The priest turned toward Chloe.
"Chloe, do you take Miles to be your husband?"
Chloe’s lips trembled slightly.
She looked at him.
"I do."
A few people smiled.
Hope whispered to Asher.
"They said yes."
Asher nodded.
"I heard."
Hope smiled.
"They are getting married."
Asher looked at Miles.
"Finally."
Elena heard them and laughed quietly.
The priest invited Miles to speak his vows.
Miles took a slow breath.
For a man who had faced armed enemies without hesitation, standing before Chloe seemed to make him more nervous than any battlefield ever had.
He looked at her.
"Chloe, I spent most of my life believing that I did not need anything from this world."
The garden became silent.
"I believed strength meant standing alone. I believed that if I could protect myself, I could protect everyone else."
Chloe listened with tears beginning to form.
"But then you came into my life."
Miles smiled.
"And somehow, you taught me that coming home is also a kind of strength."
Chloe’s eyes became wet.
He gently held her hands.
"I cannot promise you that our life will always be perfect."
A small smile appeared on Chloe’s face.
"I cannot promise that I will always know what to say."
A few guests smiled.
"I cannot promise that I will never make mistakes."
Dion quietly whispered.
"Good start."
Flora elbowed him.
"Quiet."
Dion immediately closed his mouth.
Miles continued.
"But I promise you this."
His voice became firm.
"I will never stop choosing you."
Chloe’s tears finally slipped down her cheeks.
"I will stand beside you. I will listen to you. I will argue with you when I am wrong and apologize when I deserve it."
The guests laughed softly.
"I will protect your happiness, but I will never try to control your freedom."
Chloe smiled through her tears.
"I will build a home with you wherever life takes us."
He paused.
"And if life ever becomes difficult, I will not run."
Miles gently touched her hand.
"I will stay."
Chloe wiped a tear from the corner of her eye.
"I love you, Chloe."
The entire garden became completely silent.
Then came a wave of applause.
Elena wiped her eyes.
Daniel smiled proudly.
Timothy lowered his head for a moment, quietly composing himself.
Gordon smiled.
Dion clapped loudly.
"That was my brother."
Flora smiled.
"You are going to make everyone cry."
Dion wiped an imaginary tear.
"I am already crying."
Flora laughed.
The priest turned toward Chloe.
"Chloe, your vows."
Chloe took a deep breath.
She looked at Miles.
"When I first met you, I did not understand you."
Miles smiled.
"Neither did I."
A few guests laughed.
Chloe continued.
"I thought you were someone who carried everything alone because you were strong."
Her voice softened.
"Later, I realized that sometimes you carried everything alone because you were afraid that your burdens would hurt the people you loved."
Miles’ smile faded into something gentler.
"You told me once that I did not have to be afraid to break the rules."
She smiled.
"Today, I want to break one more."
Miles raised an eyebrow.
"I want to promise you something you never asked me to promise."
She held his hands tighter.
"I will not let you carry everything alone."
Miles’ eyes became moist.
"You have spent your life protecting everyone."
She took a breath.
"From today, let me protect you too."
The guests became silent.
"I will love you when you are strong."
Her voice trembled.
"And I will love you when you are tired."
She smiled through her tears.
"I will love the man everyone sees."
She squeezed his hand.
"And I will love the boy who survived everything before anyone knew his name."
Miles lowered his eyes for a moment.
Chloe continued.
"I cannot change your past."
She looked directly at him.
"But I can be part of your future."
Miles smiled gently, closing his eyes and then opening them again.
"I promise to grow with you."
She smiled.
"I promise to argue with you."
The guests laughed softly.
"I promise to annoy you."
Miles laughed through his tears.
"And I promise to remind you every single day that you are loved."
Her voice became softer.
"Wherever you go, I will walk beside you."
She paused.
"Not behind you."
Miles smiled.
"Not ahead of you."
She gently squeezed his hands.
"Beside you."
The guests erupted into applause.
Elena openly cried this time.
Daniel wrapped an arm around her.
"She is perfect."
Elena nodded.
"She is."
The priest asked for the rings.
Alice stepped forward and handed one to the priest.
Chase followed with the second.
Dion looked at them and smiled.
"Careful, brother."
Miles looked at him.
Dion grinned.
"Those things are expensive."
The guests laughed.
Miles shook his head.
The priest blessed the rings.
"May these rings be symbols of your promises, circles without beginning and without end, reminders of the love you have chosen today."
Miles took Chloe’s ring.
He held her hand.
"Chloe, with this ring, I give you my promise."
He slowly placed it on her finger.
"I give you my trust."
He pushed it gently into place.
"I give you my heart."
Chloe looked at him.
"And I give you my future."
Applause filled the garden.
Chloe took Miles’ ring.
Her fingers trembled slightly.
Miles smiled.
"Nervous?"
"A little."
"Take your time."
She nodded.
"With this ring, I choose you."
She carefully placed the ring on his finger.
"I choose your happiness."
She pushed it into place.
"I choose your family."
Her smile widened.
"And I choose every ordinary day we have yet to live."
She looked at him.
"Even if you insist on wearing hoodies everywhere."
Everyone laughed.
Miles looked offended.
"That was unnecessary."
Chloe smiled.
"It was important."
Even Timothy laughed.
The priest smiled.
"Then may these rings remind you of this day whenever life becomes difficult."
He raised his hands.
"May God bless this marriage."
The couple stood together.
Hand in hand.
For a few seconds, neither moved.
They simply looked at each other.
As though they were trying to memorize the moment.
The priest finally looked toward the guests.
"Having heard their vows and witnessed their promises, and with the love and support of their families and friends, I now pronounce them husband and wife."
The entire garden became silent.
The priest smiled.
"Miles, you may kiss your bride."
Miles looked at Chloe.
She immediately turned red.
"Finally," Dion whispered.
Flora laughed.
"Let them have their moment."
Miles slowly stepped closer.
Chloe smiled.
He gently placed one hand around her waist.
His other hand rested against hers.
Then he leaned forward.
Their lips met in a soft, gentle kiss.
The applause exploded across Pearl Villa.
Cheers rose from every corner.
Hope jumped excitedly.
Asher clapped beside her.
Elena covered her mouth while laughing through her tears.
Daniel smiled proudly.
Gordon applauded.
Timothy laughed warmly.
Dion shouted.
"Finally!"
Flora hit his arm.
"Let them breathe!"
Everyone laughed.
Miles and Chloe slowly separated.
Chloe’s face was completely red.
Miles whispered.
"Happy?"
She smiled.
"Very."
The priest raised his voice above the cheering.
"Everyone, please welcome Mr. and Mrs. Sterling."
The garden erupted once again.
Flowers were thrown into the air.
The bridesmaids cheered.
The groomsmen whistled.
Music filled the lawn.
Miles looked toward Chloe.
Chloe looked toward him.
And for the first time in their lives, neither of them had to wonder where they belonged.
They were home.
Together.
Forever.
[A/N: Well, I’m definitely envious of you, Miles. Congrats! Just make sure you survive this and bring on a baby arc next!!]
