Chapter 736 - 686: Is That All You’ve Got? (2)
He moved through London ceaselessly, day and night. Qin Fan’s reaping was like a wraith harvesting souls, leaving his mark in countless places: schools and hospitals, residential areas and the Central Business District, on the streets, in amusement parks, and in brothels.
In just two days, official reports tallied over five hundred deaths—five hundred murder cases. In two days! What did that even mean? Unable to sit idly by any longer, London’s authorities armed their entire police force and sealed off the city.
However, after two days of relentless harvesting, Qin Fan had already appeared in Manchester. The slaughter, guided by the scent of vampires, began anew. Countless low- and mid-level vampires fell before him as helplessly as ants, reduced to blood-drained corpses without a chance to struggle. Following the events in London, the storm of chaos now erupting in Manchester captured the world’s attention.
Nearly four days passed as he raced against time. The only clue the English authorities had was a single detail: the killer had an Asian face. Beyond that, they were utterly in the dark.
As Qin Fan continued his rampage across the English Land...
「In Sweden.」
Inside a centuries-old castle built in the style of Ancient Rome, various antique candles burned. The swirling candle smoke filled the dark interior with a suffocating atmosphere. This was the headquarters of the vampire lineage.
"My Lord, there’s trouble!" a middle-aged man in a tailcoat exclaimed, hurrying in from outside. He knelt on one knee before the man lounging leisurely on the main hall’s sofa.
"Hm? What has happened?" the lounging man chuckled softly, his voice thick with an air of nobility.
"Qin Fan has entered England!" the man in the tailcoat reported, clenching his teeth as he forced the words out in trepidation.
At this, the lounging man slowly turned his head and sat up straight. He stared at his subordinate and asked calmly, "When?"
"Four days ago! For four days, he has been slaughtering our kind! In that time, the number of dead low- and mid-level vampires has reached seven or eight hundred!" the man in the tailcoat uttered, his body trembling visibly.
"And you just let him harvest for four days?" the lord responded with a laugh instead of anger, his delicate features twisting into a sinister smile.
"My Lord, he targeted the low- and mid-level vampires, most of whom were inconspicuous members! Our subordinates only just reported the situation, and only after tallying the numbers did we realize the true scale of the massacre!" the man explained.
"Hmm. So, what should be done next?"
"My Lord!" The lord’s calm demeanor and pointed question made the man in the tailcoat tremble even more fiercely, his teeth beginning to chatter.
"Can you track his movements?" the lord asked lightly, ignoring his subordinate’s fearful state.
"My Lord!" GULP. At the question, the man’s face turned a ghostly pale, his swallow thick with terror. If he could track Qin Fan’s movements, he wouldn’t have dared waste time coming here to report it.
"Useless! What good are you to me?" One moment, the lord’s expression was one of composed enjoyment. The next, upon hearing the man’s fearful gulp, his figure blurred into a shadow. A second later, his long fingers were wrapped around the kneeling man’s neck, lifting him clear off the ground.
"By my command, summon the twelve Blood Kings! Immediately establish surveillance over the British Isles! Within twenty-four hours, I want to hear good news from you!" the chilling voice roared.
The lord then harshly flung the man in his hand outwards. Like a kite with a snapped string, the subordinate flew backward, crashing violently against the castle’s exterior dozens of meters away. The sickening crunch of breaking bones followed.
"Yes, my Lord!" Scrambling to his feet, the man knelt toward the castle entrance and shouted his affirmation. The suffocating terror that had gripped him finally subsided, allowing him to breathe. Without needing another reprimand, his broken bones began to mend on their own. He hastily stood and sprinted away.
「Simultaneously.」
Across the English Land, Qin Fan’s reaping continued. After London and Manchester, he moved through several more cities in just a few hours.
Under the dusky night sky, inside an underground processing plant, he gazed at the dozen or so Tusk corpses on the floor and muttered leisurely to himself, "1,132. You vampires... nearly one hundred hours have passed, and you still can’t find a single trace of this Heavenly Venerate. Is this truly all you’re capable of?"
However, just as his words faded, twelve chilling auras erupted without any warning.
