The youth’s shout left his companions and Ma Yunhai’s group completely stunned.

This guy actually knows Boss Qin? If memory serves, this is Boss Qin’s first time in Beijing since his reputation exploded, isn’t it? Besides, would someone acquainted with Boss Qin really let themselves be bullied by Qi Shijie to this degree? Judging by the way he’s holding that platter, he must have cowered under Qi Shijie’s insults and threats. Boss Qin has a wimpy friend like this? What a load of bullshit!

However, what followed left them even more flabbergasted. Qin Fan simply raised an eyebrow and asked inquisitively, "And you are?"

The moment he spoke, the entire room fell dead silent.

Holy shit! What the hell is going on?

Ma Yunhai and his friends grew even more bewildered, frowning as they exchanged glances.

Obviously, if Boss Qin doesn’t recognize this guy, he’s going to get completely destroyed by that dumbass Qi Shijie for this impulsive outburst.

"Boss Qin, don’t you remember me? Last time in Jinling, outside the card room, at the Dragon Palace of the East Sea! I was with Chang Yuanyi! Do you remember now?" The hand holding the platter began to tremble slightly. Luo Kaixuan knew that if Qin Fan said he had no impression of him, the humiliation would be unbearable.

The Dragon Palace of the East Sea, Chang Yuanyi? After a moment of recollection, Qin Fan recalled the group of young masters from Beijing. Although he couldn’t place the man’s unremarkable face, there was no reason to doubt him since he’d mentioned the specifics. With a harmless, sunny smile, Qin Fan said, "Oh, it’s you."

Just as the young man, thrilled by the recognition, was about to cozy up to him, Qin Fan simply smiled, gave a slight nod, and turned away. "Let’s go."

"Yes, yes, Boss Qin!" Ma Yunhai, still reeling from the melodramatic scene, quickly agreed and started to lead the way.

Luo Kaixuan, however, was frozen in a daze.

That’s it? Just an "Oh, it’s you"? He could understand that a man of Qin Fan’s stature wouldn’t care about a minor figure like him, but the abrupt dismissal still left him feeling utterly dejected.

"Fuck, what are you morons standing around for! Are you deaf? I told you to get your dog food off the table and wipe it clean! Get it done now! Do you have a death wish or something?"

Did Qi Shijie hear the man call out "Boss Qin"? He did, but he couldn’t care less. He didn’t know the man was addressing Qin Fan, but even if he did, so what? It wouldn’t have made a difference to him.

With a roar, he strode out from behind the screen.

"Yes, yes, Young Master Qi! Right away, sir! Right away!" Suppressing his humiliation, Luo Kaixuan bowed awkwardly before quickly carrying the platter to another table.

A self-satisfied smirk crossed Qi Shijie’s face as he glanced ahead. Spotting Ma Yunhai’s flamboyant back, he called out in a sneering, sarcastic tone, "Well, well, isn’t that Old Ma?"

Up ahead, Ma Yunhai turned around at the sound of his voice. "Qi Shijie, for fuck’s sake, can you stop with this disgusting act for one day? Do you get some sick thrill from bullying people who can’t fight back?"

"Oh, listen to you! If you’re so tough, why don’t you go after Su Tianyou? Fuck, stop with the hypocritical bullshit. I fucking despise that about you! By the way, I heard you had Chen Dog nabbed. You better watch your back, or Su Tianyou might just tear you a new one. Sure, you’re one of Chen Dog’s masters, but we all know that dog listens to Su Tianyou more than he ever listened to you!"

Qi Shijie sauntered toward Ma Yunhai’s group, his mocking, venomous tone never wavering.

Ma Yunhai scoffed. "Seriously, Qi Shijie, can you act like a normal human being? What the hell does this have to do with you? If you want to protect Chen Dog, then go on, show us what you’ve got! Damn it, what’s the point of standing there gloating from the sidelines?"

"The point is that it’s fun! I want to see how Su Tianyou annihilates you, so of course it’s fun! Hey—you there," Qi Shijie gestured toward Qin Fan’s back. "I’m talking. Have the decency to turn around and look at me. Fuck, don’t you have any basic manners?"

As he spoke, Qi Shijie reached out to grab Qin Fan’s shoulder and spin him around.

SWISH!

Before his hand could make contact, Qin Fan turned around on his own. His expression grew icy as he commanded in a deep voice, "Scram."

Even then, he hadn’t wanted to waste his time on this venomous, shit-talking pest.

Upon seeing Qin Fan’s face and recalling the title "Boss Qin," Qi Shijie instinctively took a step back. A flash of panic crossed his face before being replaced by a furious, humiliated flush.

"What was that? What did you just say? Say that again, you motherfucker," Qi Shijie snarled, a strange sneer twisting his lips as he cocked his head.

The words had barely left his mouth when Ma Yunhai’s eyes widened in disbelief.

This fucking idiot doesn’t recognize Boss Qin? How is that possible? But if he does know who this is, where did he get the nerve to say that? Is he insane?

"Qi Shijie, who the fuck do you think you’re talking to? Are you blind?" Before Ma Yunhai could speak, the other six dandies erupted in furious, anxious shouts. Was Qi Shijie genuinely crazy or just faking it? If he truly managed to provoke Qin Fan’s wrath, they would all be caught in the crossfire.

"Look, I think you’ve all been Chen Dog’s masters for so long you’ve forgotten what it’s like not to be someone’s bitch. Now you want to switch roles and be this guy’s dog?" Qi Shijie sneered, pointing a finger at Qin Fan. "You—what was your name again? Qin something... right, Qin Fan! Tell me, instead of hiding in Jinling and enjoying the last few peaceful days you have left, what the hell are you doing in Beijing? Did you really think Beijing is like Jinling? That Four-nine City is the same as your precious Jinling Mansion?"

He’s lost it. This fucking idiot has definitely lost his mind.

Hearing Qi Shijie’s tirade, Ma Yunhai and his friends could only stare, completely dumbfounded.

Is he really trying to act tough in front of Qin Fan? Does he not have any clue what kind of man he’s facing? Impossible! But for him to be this reckless... a death wish is the only possible explanation.

"And you guys, Old Ma," Qi Shijie continued, "siding with him in a situation like this? Aren’t you afraid of getting burned? As... well, as childhood friends who grew up in the same circle, I have to say, I’ll enjoy watching you all suffer. But I feel obligated to give you a warning: don’t play with fire. It’ll burn you to a crisp in seconds. Anyway, I’ve said my piece."

With that, Qi Shijie waved his hand dismissively. Just as he was about to turn back, he paused again, shot a look of utter disdain at Qin Fan, and mocked, "Beijing isn’t for you. Go back where you came from. Savor what little time you have left to live. This is no place for you to run wild. Consider this a friendly warning. No need to thank me."

Finished, Qi Shijie let out a derisive snicker. A feeling of smug elation surged from the soles of his feet, enveloping his entire body as he nonchalantly turned and walked away, leaving Ma Yunhai and the others staring in stunned shock.
