Chapter 710 - 661: Hey, Trash! (5)
"Hey, why are you being so unreasonable? I just tapped your bumper! Is it really necessary to call the traffic police over this? Just name your price to settle this privately!" a curvaceous woman with a pretty face said through gritted teeth at the scene of the rear-end collision.
"Ma’am, that’s not how it works," the handsome young man replied. "Yes, hitting the bumper isn’t a big deal, but it’s still best to let the police handle it. Otherwise, wouldn’t all our taxpayer money go to waste? If you settle privately and I settle privately, what’s the point of having a traffic police department?"
Although he said this, he loosened the fingers that were poised to dial a number. Perhaps he never intended to call in the first place.
Son of a bitch! she roared inwardly. The glamorous woman, seething with anger, fought back her frustration. "Cut the crap and just tell me how much you want! I’ll pay!"
As soon as she finished speaking, the man suddenly leaned close and took a deep sniff near her, even letting out an exaggerated, intoxicated sigh.
"Bastard, are you a pervert?!" she shouted, reflexively stumbling back a few steps in response to his sudden move.
"What a lovely aroma of red wine! Drunk driving in broad daylight, tsk, tsk. What am I to make of you? What do you think would happen if the police showed up right now?" the young man taunted with a wicked smirk. He tapped out the number for the traffic police on his phone and waved it at her.
WHOOSH!
Hearing this, Chen Yunyun’s expression changed drastically. The only reason she was in such a hurry to pay and settle privately was that she had been drinking. She never expected him to find out.
In truth, her panic was for naught. The man had smelled the alcohol on her the moment she stepped out of her car and was only dragging things out because a malicious idea had occurred to him. Otherwise, how much could a bumper on a car worth just over one hundred thousand really cost? Call the police? What a load of bullshit.
"That’s irrelevant! I’ll settle with you right now! Name your price, and as long as it’s not too outrageous, I’ll pay it! Just don’t get the police involved!" Chen Yunyun said, her voice filled with indignation. The accident had only happened because she had glanced down to pick up her phone and hadn’t seen the car in front of her. The small amount of red wine she’d had wasn’t affecting her judgment at all. But affected or not, if the police got involved, she wouldn’t be able to escape the consequences.
She was getting frantic. The longer she stayed here, the more dangerous it became. If a patrol car happened to pass by, she would be completely screwed.
"Why is it unnecessary to call the police? You’re driving under the influence! What if you hit someone? At the very least, you could crash into a trash can, a lamppost, or a bus stop sign! That’s dangerous! I’m only looking out for you. You should be thanking me!" the young man said with a sinister laugh, clearly trying to shatter her composure.
But his face was hardly that of a benevolent saint. Looking at the despicable, smirking expression that filled her with disgust, how could Chen Yunyun not see through his pathetic tricks?
Suppressing her fury, she gritted her teeth again. "Enough nonsense. I said I’ll take the fall. Just give me a number. If I can meet it, I will!"
"Two hundred thousand!" the young man said as soon as she finished, holding up two fingers.
What the hell? Two hundred thousand? A brand new car of this crappy model doesn’t even cost that much, and he wants two hundred thousand for a bumper? The guy must be desperate for money!
Though she was at a disadvantage, Chen Yunyun didn’t want to provoke him by shouting. She scoffed, "You might as well just rob me! Two hundred thousand? For a single bumper? Do you really think this outrageous extortion is funny?"
"If the police come, you’ll face a fine, twelve demerit points, and a six-month license suspension. Most importantly, it’ll leave a permanent mark on your record! So, is two hundred thousand really that much? I don’t think so! Of course, we don’t necessarily have to settle with cash. There are other ways to resolve this that don’t involve money!" the young man said with a sinister smile. He knew, without her needing to say it, that two hundred thousand was an unrealistic, impossible sum. From the moment Chen Yunyun had gotten out of her car, he had no intention of settling for money.
"What do you want?" Chen Yunyun asked, her expression faltering.
"Simple. Sleep with me," he said, the lust in his eyes now on full display as he finally showed his true colors. "Do that, and we’ll forget this ever happened. No money, and I won’t call the police. So? What do you say? Want to think about it?"
"You sick pervert, get the hell away from me!" Unable to contain her rage any longer, Chen Yunyun’s beautiful face twisted as she roared.
"You bitch! It’s your damn lucky day that I’d even want to fuck you! So it’s a no? Fine! We’ll see what the traffic police have to say!" Humiliated by her shouting, the young man flew into a rage and snarled, immediately dialing the number for the traffic department.
At this point, Chen Yunyun accepted her fate. If this had happened in Maoming, it might have been easier to handle, but this was Jiangzhou. She had no choice but to resign herself to the consequences. So be it. She would lose her license and her record would be tarnished.
"Hey, trash!"
At that moment, Qin Fan walked over, calling out with an amused smile.
Hearing the voice, the young man subconsciously looked up. Chen Yunyun turned around as well. But when she saw the familiar face, she was utterly stunned and couldn’t believe her eyes.
"Don’t look around. I’m talking to you, trash," Qin Fan continued, meeting the young man’s gaze with a smile. "Who taught you this routine of being so shameless, brazen, and idiotic?"
"Fuck you!"
Hearing Qin Fan’s mocking insult, the young man, who had just gotten through to the traffic police but hadn’t yet made a report, roared and charged at him.
However, before he could even get close, Qin Fan shot out a kick.
THUD!
It landed squarely in his abdomen. The young man buckled over like a shrimp, his face twisted in pain. He collapsed to the ground, his face as pale as a sheet, and began vomiting amidst pained groans. A casual kick from Qin Fan, even one without a hint of True Qi, was far more than an ordinary person could handle.
Ignoring the writhing man, Qin Fan looked at the dumbstruck Chen Yunyun and shook his head. "How come nothing good ever happens whenever I see you? Are you some kind of jinx?"
Still reeling in shock, Chen Yunyun heard his words and subconsciously wanted to retort.
You’re the jinx! Your whole family are jinxes!
Fortunately, she managed to bite her tongue at the last second.
"I... I... I..." Chen Yunyun raised a hand but found she was at a loss for words.
Ever since the incident at the Maoming High-Level Club, her feelings toward Qin Fan had been a mixture of endless awe and reverence. The most esteemed figures in Lingnan looked to him for leadership, and even Lai Shenxiang, a legendary Divine Physiognomist and master of Geomancy renowned throughout Huaxia, followed him respectfully. A single phone call from him could bankrupt a billionaire overnight. To her, a man like that was an untouchable existence. Although Qin Fan was much younger than she was, her upbringing in a wealthy merchant family had taught her never to judge a person by their age.
After their last encounter, she had assumed their paths would never cross again. She never imagined they would meet again under such bizarre circumstances.
"You what? Let’s go," Qin Fan said, shaking his head with a smile. Even though he had just saved her, he clearly didn’t want to get too involved.
"Holy shit! Master Qin?"
Just then, the roar of engines filled the air. Several supercars, which had been speeding down the road, screeched to a halt the moment they spotted Qin Fan’s Bentley.
Gazing at the back of a figure they knew all too well, the people inside the cars murmured in disbelief.
