Chapter 727 - 677: Golden Core Late Stage! (3)
「Four Seasons Hotel.」
Three days had passed, but the Masters who had come from Jiangzhou still had not returned. On the sixty-sixth floor, which had been booked entirely for them, numerous Masters gathered in the vast meeting hall, led by Lai Zhuge.
"Lai Shenxiang, it’s been three days without any word from Master Qin. Could something have happened to him?" a middle-aged man, who had been pacing back and forth, couldn’t help but ask with a frown.
SWISH!
At these words, everyone’s gaze fell upon Lai Zhuge. Not only did Lai Zhuge have the highest cultivation level among them, but his relationship with Qin Fan also gave him the most authority to speak on the matter.
"I don’t think so," Lai Zhuge said, shaking his head with uncertainty after a brief pause.
"Lai Shenxiang, why don’t we make another trip to Gufeng Ridge to see what’s happening?" another Master suggested.
They had come all the way to Xiangjiang only to be spectators; it felt like they hadn’t done anything at all. The feeling of wanting to help but being powerless was incredibly frustrating.
Walking to the floor-to-ceiling window, Lai Zhuge gazed out at the unusually calm Gufeng Ridge, his expression grave. "No. Master Qin had his reasons for telling us to return. If we go there rashly, we might disrupt him. Haven’t we been observing Gufeng Ridge from the hotel this whole time? Unless something extraordinary occurs, I believe it’s best we don’t go against his wishes.
"Besides, the fact that he told us we could return to Jiangzhou proves his absolute confidence. If any of you are busy, you can head back first. There’s no need to wait here in vain. As Master Qin said, if a situation arises that even he can’t handle, we would most likely just be getting in the way."
Three days have passed... To be honest, my own confidence is starting to waver.
The Masters started to protest, but the words died on their lips.
"You should all head back," Lai Zhuge said, waving his hand dismissively.
"Alright then, Lai Shenxiang," one Master said, breaking the dead silence after a moment of hesitation. "We won’t wait with you any longer. If anything happens, just say the word, and we will rush back immediately. How does that sound?"
"Alright. Go on, all of you," Lai Zhuge responded with a nod.
The Masters exchanged glances before standing up in unison to take their leave.
Soon, only four Masters who were particularly close with Lai Zhuge remained in the vast meeting hall.
"You four should go as well. There’s no need to waste your time here," Lai Zhuge said, turning to them with a smile and a shake of his head.
"It’s fine, Lai Shenxiang. We have the time," they replied with resigned smiles.
Not wishing to press the matter, Lai Zhuge simply gave a helpless smile and fell silent, his gaze returning to the distant Gufeng Ridge.
「Gufeng Ridge.」
When the changes within his body finally settled, Qin Fan opened his eyes for the first time in three days.
Phew... I’m still a little short of the peak, but this is enough. To go from Qi Refinement to the late Golden Core Stage in just a few months... who would ever believe it?
At this thought, Qin Fan couldn’t help but laugh, a grin filled with pride and a touch of smugness. On the Cangqiong Continent, it had taken him five hundred years to reach the Transcendence Tribulation Stage. The journey from Qi Refinement to the late Golden Core Stage alone had taken nearly a century. But now, after his rebirth, he had accomplished in a few short months what had once taken him nearly one hundred years. How could he possibly be unsatisfied?
He had initially thought that merely reaching the Foundation Establishment Stage on Earth would be an incredible feat. He never expected that a series of events would propel him all the way to the Golden Core Stage. At this rate, achieving the Nascent Soul Stage on Earth seemed entirely possible!
At this thought, Qin Fan smiled and deeply exhaled the turbid air he had held in for three days.
Then, with a sudden tremor, he released his True Qi!
WHOOSH!
In the next instant, all the grime and impurities caked onto his skin with dried sweat were blasted away. As the filth fell away, it revealed flawless skin with a healthy, rosy glow, as smooth and delicate as a newborn’s. Even "Little Fan" down below seemed to have grown a bit. It looked impressive in its own unassuming way—powerful enough to mesmerize anyone, yet without a hint of ferocity.
He stood up, stark naked, and retrieved a fresh set of clothes from his storage space to put on.
Once ready, Qin Fan dismantled the Array he had set up as a precaution. He then soared directly toward the opening of the cavern above.
Back in the meeting hall on the sixty-sixth floor of the Four Seasons Hotel, Lai Zhuge was still standing by the window, his eyes fixed on Gufeng Ridge. When he saw a figure suddenly take flight, he immediately shouted with excitement, "Master Qin!"
"Master Qin has appeared?" The other four Masters, who had been waiting anxiously, exclaimed in unison. They scrambled to their feet and rushed to the window. Seeing the dashing, handsome figure, they cried out again, "It’s Master Qin! It really is him! Lai Shenxiang, we have to go over there now!"
However, before Lai Zhuge could respond, his phone began to ring urgently. To no one’s surprise, the call was from Qin Fan.
"Master Qin!" Lai Zhuge exclaimed as he quickly answered the call.
From atop Gufeng Ridge, Qin Fan turned toward the Four Seasons Hotel. His gaze pierced through the distance, pinpointing Lai Zhuge and the others. "Why haven’t you left yet?" he asked with a smile.
"Master Qin, I was worried you might need something, so I wasn’t in any rush to leave. Besides, things are quiet in Jiangzhou right now, hehe," Lai Zhuge said, sighing in relief.
Seeing Qin Fan reappear after three days of silence was proof enough that the crisis of the Demon Dragon’s aura was resolved. For Lai Zhuge, it was as if a massive weight had been lifted from his heart.
"Alright, everything is fine now," Qin Fan said. "You can all go back. There’s no reason to linger any longer. I won’t be returning with you. That’s all."
As Lai Zhuge murmured his assent, Qin Fan hung up the phone with a smile.
After strolling leisurely down from Gufeng Ridge, Qin Fan dialed Amber’s number.
"Master," Amber’s respectful and solemn voice answered after three rings.
"What’s the situation?" Qin Fan asked, getting straight to the point.
"Master, a dozen of them couldn’t endure it and are gone. Fifty-two remain. Their thirst for revenge is so deeply ingrained that nothing seems able to shake their resolve to become stronger. I’ve used every torment imaginable on them, and they’ve endured it all," Amber reported truthfully.
"Excellent," Qin Fan said with a genuine smile. "Where are they now?"
"In Yandang Mountain, near Shanghai," Amber replied.
"Good. I’m heading over now. Gather them all. I will personally review whether they are qualified to become powerful avengers."
With a final laugh, Qin Fan ended the call.
His figure flashed and vanished as if he had teleported. A moment later, he was nowhere to be seen.
