- Since when did you stop trusting anyone?

My house ran a farmhouse and I was a farmer, so to speak. I still paid the country for the crops I grew as usual today as an annual contribution. The country had its flag and magic bond in the village where we lived by getting that annual contribution. So we could live in peace without being attacked by the Warcraft or the Black Rank Adventurers.

"Look, look, Dad, Mom! You got such a big potato!

"Awesome! The king would be delighted with this!

"Woof, right. Wow, Dylan."

My father and mother were thrilled with the softball-sized giant potatoes I found. I was happy to see my parents like that.

Our village basically pays potatoes as an annual contribution. Potatoes are the staple food in that country.

This life could have been calm for better or worse. Yes, not until that incident happens.

- Was it about two years ago now? We used to rule potatoes over the country as usual, but one day suddenly a national official came to this village.

"Officials...... what can I do for you today? If it's an annual contribution, I just put it away last week..."

"Oh, indeed, the annual contribution was ruled by the state. Potatoes filled with poison!

"Huh!?

"Many royalty officials lost their lives because of the potatoes you made. I'm so sorry your potatoes were reputable in the country!

"Sorry! But we don't have poison or anything, and we don't have the technology to make poison or anything that kills people!

Dad desperately complained it was a misunderstanding, but the official didn't have the ear to listen.

"Therefore your village will be banished from this country!

"No!?

That's where it came from. Our hell started.

Our village has lost its magical bond of cooperation with the flag. That made the village a complete collapse and burning field less than three days after being attacked by the warcraft who lived outside the village and the black-rank adventurers who came in search of territory.

I fled desperately, but my father, my mother, and everyone else in the village were killed.

"I won't allow it! They'll never forgive me! I'll definitely avenge you!

I couldn't stop being angry. But I don't have the power to take revenge right now, I'm not the only one who can take it down.

But one day there will come a time when we can avenge it. Believe me, I've been watching them from outside the village.

One day I was desperate to hear the conversation between two black-rank adventurers.

"You've been thinking about that country too! You can't crush this village because you don't need it anymore after you can produce potatoes in your own country!

"I can't believe they poisoned us because they don't want to get their hands dirty, too, and sell off the land to us!

Oh well...... That guy and this guy were all glue. The guys in the country don't need our village anymore, so they want to cut it off. But if we cut it off with strength, it will affect the credibility of the country. That's where those black-rank adventurers showed up, they want our village land. So the state sold them the land, wronged us, banished us, and we became their food.

"What the heck is that... we got fitted!? I believed you! We all believed in you... Shit."

Never cried more than this day, never resented more than this day, never freaked out more than this day. And after this day I never trusted anyone. Except for one.

As I cried out, it was a mysterious man in white who came to me.

"From you I can feel a wonderfully strong hateful emotion! With all this hate, you can have the power to avenge it!

"Who...? You."

"Sorry, you weren't named after me. My name is Radigo, president of the Demon Lab!

"Demon Lab?

"That's right! If you mouth this demonized candy I've studied, you can get the power of the Warcraft! That's not quite as powerful as the Knights of the Nation or the Wizards!

I heard him explain and thought he was frigid. I didn't think it would be convenient to be strong, and besides, I didn't believe anyone.

"I can't believe anything like that. First of all, I don't believe anybody anymore."

"You don't have to believe anything, I'm not here to scout you, because I'm here to demonize you with strength!

When I said that, he stepped on my foot. He swallowed the candy in his mouth without watering it where I went mad with the pain and opened my mouth wide.

"Stop! I don't want to be a demon at all... Gu, gu, gu, gu, gu, gu, gu."

All of a sudden my body ignited hot and the flame gradually stained black. And at some point, I was able to gain tough power.

"Hey, what a shitty power!? Power comes out of your body. This could bury those abominable nations and black-rank adventurers!

Then I destroyed the country and the village where I lived with the help of demons. They couldn't do anything before the overwhelming force.

"Me, you can believe it! I'm going to be your man!

"I'm glad you're a subordinate, but you don't have to believe me, just act for my ideals, that's fine."

"What the hell is that all about?

"You got to be strong enough not to have to believe in people, you got to be strong on your own! Then nothing will hold you back."

I thought this was the only one. Who can I be? And I was saved by that word of Radigo.

- Now.

"Ha... ha... How did you know then that my movements would be dull? You can't act so bold if you don't understand!

Dylan asked Saran Ian, who would rise next door.

"I wonder why? I'm not sure, but I thought there was supposed to be some kind of accumulation of their damage in my head."

"Does that mean you believed in their power?

"That's right! Everyone lives believing in each other!

Dylan was stunned to hear the words. That this man spoke sarah so loudly that when he said it, he would vomit back.

"Aren't you afraid to be betrayed?

"I'm scared, but I'm more scared of not having company than being betrayed."

"If you didn't suspect or trust people at all, he wouldn't be one of them, would he? Wouldn't anyone be able to call themselves buddies if they behaved like that? That's why I'm afraid of it. I'm most afraid of not having company."

"... what, that lame reason"

Dylan felt ridiculous listening to Saran Ian at the end...... to himself so far.

(Believe it or not, you're not one of them...? That's right, if I wasn't afraid to believe in people either, I wonder if I could have called them buddies too...)

But Dylan took his breath away as he looked satisfied that the darkness in his heart had been shaken away. The pitch-black flames that surrounded his body gradually dwindled, and quietly disappeared.
