The Skill Collector

Tours and family

The dining room window on the first floor of the inn looks good outside, so if I liked to sit down, it would have been my privileged seat at some point.

I don't mind anyone else sitting down, but that seat is empty unless it's so crowded.

I sat in the privileged seat today as a matter of course and took a casual look at the store.

The innkeeper's daughter, the original billboard daughter, Ceiri, is paying undisturbed attention to her guests' stories.

She dresses with a lot of exposure, so sometimes new customers mistake her for a light woman to speak up, but laugh and flush with her acting skills and courage forged in the troupe.

You can't do this to Sumire yet, can you? Chaili is still helping me where I am being troubled by the customer I've been getting involved with.

"Yes, we are forbidden to touch or invite you. If you do anything weird, our regulars won't shut up."

Regular male customers put up their arms when Chaili had a tearful wink.

There are several benign adventurers in there, and the guy who was a little bit on the table rushes out of the store when he puts the money on the table.

"Thank you, gentlemen"

Regular thumbs up and responds to Pekopeko and Sumire bowing her head over and over again.

You're totally familiar with Sumire, too. When I first met him, he had cheeks and a pale complexion, but now he runs around the store full of energy to work.

Now she's working as a two-billboard daughter in this store.

Initially, he was poorly handled and pulled his legs, but recently served as a splendid force of war -.

"I guess I ordered it yet"

"Oh, su, sorry!

Sumire is in a hurry, apparently not communicating the order to the kitchen.

... Well, there seems to be an inadvertent mistake, but still grow up fine -.

The customer is surprised by the loud noise that echoes in the store with the paleen, and his gaze concentrates. That was the sound of several plates that Sumire had dropped cracked.

"Shh, excuse me! I'll clean it up right away!

It's like when I started working, not if it's soothing.

Observing her condition because I was a little concerned, I apologized for a series of mistakes since then.

"Doesn't sound like it"

Failure is for everyone, but today's Sumire feels like it's not here in the heart, and it's often confusing.

Maybe there's something to worry about. I take care of you every day, so why don't you listen to me later?

Since the noon writing time had passed, I decided to call Sumire, who was staring into the void near the counter.

"Mr. Sumire....... Mr. Sumire"

"Oh, oh, yes!

When I get a stiff face, I rush over with a small run.

"Would you like to order"

"No, I'm not. Can I help you? You seem distracted today."

"Ahhh...... Excuse me."

He seems conscious, holding the basin to his chest and bowing his head.

"If there's something bothering you, I'll ask you, okay? I may not be able to help, but it can make you feel better if you talk to people."

"Thank you. Because of this, let me sweeten you."

Sumire, seated in the opposite seat, takes out a piece of paper and puts it on the table.

That was an application to the school building.

Learning building...... Citizens recognize that it is an institution that teaches children to study, but a place where people who can afford more than the average class go because they have a monthly allowance.

The reality is that this country is cheaper than other countries because of its enthusiasm for education, and even ordinary people can pass through it, but nevertheless the lay is high for the poor.

Besides, there are many adults who recognize that academics are entertainment for those who can afford to live, and there are parents who reluctantly refuse to let their children through.

"Oh, is Mr. Sumire going to learn?

It's a little late at her age, but few adults want to start making their own money and try to study. I personally think it's a good thing.

"I'm thinking about letting my brother and sister go through, not me"

"Are you Mr. Purge and Mr. Kersmi?"

My twin siblings meet me when I'm invited to dinner. He was a dear brother and a resourceful sister.

"Yes, I couldn't get through because I couldn't afford that, but now that I can afford a little, he wants to let those kids go. But those kids don't want to go. You seem reluctant to know I couldn't make it to the study hall."

"Sounds like you two"

My brother and sister cared about my family and tried to sell my skills to me.

The same goes for Moonshine, but I guess he doesn't want to bother his family after he understands that attending the study hall will prevent him from helping his house.

He's a family-friendly kid, just like Sumire.

"Was it an extra favor for those kids..."

"If you are asked if academia is mandatory, it may not be necessary. But learning gives you more options for the future. Sometimes you'll end up in a job that doesn't take advantage of what you've learned. Even so, it's very important that you can afford to choose the future. You could wake up to new skills."

Sumire is staring at me with serious eyes.

I thought you might hate me because I smell like preaching, but let's keep trying.

"What you learn will never be wasted. The joy of learning solves the problem, or the confidence that I could do it. I can get to the answer if I take it seriously, even on difficult issues. Just being able to understand this will help the future. Besides, it's not just academic, it's also a place to get in touch with kids the same age."

"That's right...... Thank you, it's neat! I'll try to discuss it with my family again."

"I'd be happy to help at all. But just stop forcing someone you're not convinced of to go. Because collective behavior can be unsuitable. If you just want to learn, I can tell you a simple number of calculations and letters."

I gave that advice because past experiences have made me think about it.

One student I met in a school that trains wizards.... you don't have to learn as a group until you're cornered like him.

"Yes! I'm glad I talked to the collector. In case of trouble again...... can you listen to me?

Is there a man who can say no to me like that because of his superiority?

I smiled and nodded small as usual.

A month after that. Sumire was also free from worries and worked as usual...... there have been more mistakes lately.

Apparently, I need to hear from you again.

"Sorry, about my siblings again..."

"What's wrong? Aren't you having fun with the school building? Or are you unfamiliar with other students?"

"No. They both talk every day and seem to enjoy what was a learning hall. My sister was proud of her excellence in studying compared to other kids."

Is it going well? That's above all.

"So what's bothering you?

"Uh. Next time, they have a class tour and I'd like to go on a tour, see if I can go."

"Don't you have to shy away. I'll be glad to see it with your mother."

"... they're both saying, 'It's not good to leave work' or 'It's embarrassing to be seen'."

This is hard to judge. It can be taken care of, but it may be a child-specific state of mind that it is purely embarrassing to be seen in class.

"So, uh. Can't you ask me to temporarily lend you a 'cover-up' or 'disguise'? Then I think my brothers will be able to visit without finding out."

I don't know what it feels like, but that's just daunting.

"It's okay. Because I don't get angry when I go normally. You may be able to light it, but I'm sure you'll be happy."

"Is it? Yeah, that's right!

His expression is brighter and he nods happily.

I tend to mistake them for asking for their opinions when they talk to me, but the majority of them are determined in their thoughts and don't actually ask for their opinions. Because I just want you to push your back.

... and when I was younger, I had been told by a woman I knew to turn to face.

I don't care about that past, but now Sumire won't have to worry about going on a class visit.

Two days later. Sumire sat face-to-face with me after breakfast.

It's a full smile that seems to infect happiness to this side of the spectrum.

"Did you enjoy your class visit?

"Yes! They were shy, but glad to see that they were studying properly! Oh, it was surprising that my brother spoke more aggressively than my sister. We're adults, and my sister's better off."

Now it seems like a break because there are no guests other than me, and Ceiri and the general don't try to blame me for just looking at us for a moment.

There seems to be a heap of things to say, so let's get to the listener.

I was listening until the end of my holiday, but in summary, it seems to me that I am glad to see you studying hard and seeing a new side.

"Sumire, it's time to get to work."

"Yes! Collector, I'm sorry we talked so long"

"No. But is it that embarrassing to be able to see yourself differently from home?

Looking out the window at the parents and children I see, I mouth the question I thought.

"Um, what do you think? It's not a bad thing for you to see how hard you work, is it? Those kids were shy, but when they left, they said, 'Thank you for coming.' I would have loved it when I was a kid."

I have no memories of being nice to my parents, so I can't imagine having a family. My only inside is too special a sister for any reference.

That's what she says, so I guess that's what it is.

The entrance to the inn sounds open, and Sumire looks back in momentum.

"Welcome... let"

She stiffened when she saw a new guest.

Looks like I just saw a parent and child coming in through the window.

Do you feel like thinking about your family together? Sumire, who has a drawn grin, will also be heartily happy.

I came to visit my mother, brother and sister for the first time at work.
