The Speedmaster of Marvel World

The Amazing Race Chapter 142.

"What right do they have to operate in Skovia? This sort of thing should be left to the army!" On TV, a guest invited over by the show said.

"But they saved a lot of people!" The host said, seeming to disagree with what he said.

"Yes, I admit they saved a lot of people. But because their actions could lead to greater harm, why do we need an army? Need a cop?"

On TV, there are shows being shown, and it's been a very hot time for similar shows, and while there are very few people who are upset with the Avengers in terms of public opinion, it's caused some very bad things, even involving politics.

And when something gets involved in politics, it can become very dangerous. It could very well become the exact opposite of what he originally intended, and become a very troublesome thing to do.

"Five years ago, I had a heart attack and passed out playing golf, and that became a blessing, and after thirteen hours of surgery, I discovered something that over forty years of military service hadn't taught me, and that was foresight!" The newest member of the family, the former Secretary of State Ross, has become the Secretary of State, standing in front of the members of the reunion and talking freely, as if a teacher in the classroom to brag.

After the death of his daughter, the shocked Ross chooses to conduct his own experiments. After his daughter's death, a devastated Ross chose to experiment on himself. The result of the experiment was that Ross successfully transformed into the Red Hulk.

But just like the Hulk, Rose's success was unrepeatable, but he rediscovered a new purpose in life, and so Rose chose to enter politics, serving as Secretary of State until now. The purpose of standing here and casually talking about his experiences is naturally to lead to what comes next.

"I know that the world owes the Avengers an unpayable debt of gratitude, after all, you stopped Ultron, and while not all of us here are here, that doesn't affect what I'm about to say!" Everyone knew the point was coming when they heard Rose say that.

"You have fought for us, protected us, risked your lives, and while there are many who see you as heroes there are others who think these crises come with you!" Rose said, while keeping her eyes on the audience.

"So what do you think? Mr. Secretary of State!" Natasha was well aware of Rose's subtext, but she had to question it anyway.

"How about using the word 'dangerous'? How would you describe a group of super-powered people running amok in your country?" Ross had a somewhat aggressive demeanor, which made the crowd present very dissatisfied.

"I should say that it's fortunate that Zhang Wen isn't here, or else he wouldn't agree to that!" Tony opened his mouth to retort, although he was also a little less trusting of Zhang Wen, but he was actually still Zhang Wen's friend, so it was natural to take out a threat at this time.

"Am I not right? The habit of ignoring sovereign national borders! Where to! Do what! Of their own free will! Don't you have any concept of a country?" Ross retorted, seemingly not caring about the name Chang Man.

Ross then drops some battle footage in front of the Avengers, and whether it's the destruction caused during the Battle of New York, the huge crater that Skovia still has, it certainly isn't highlighting the Avengers' achievements

"Enough, haven't you thought about what these things would be without us?" Steve couldn't watch and stopped Rose.

"Honestly! I don't know! But now, the governments of the world can no longer tolerate your free movement like this!" Ross shook his head, then continued, "Stark, do you have any idea how many hostages you've caused to die in Skovia's E?"

Tony recalled the information that a woman had handed him earlier and remained silent, reluctant to say anything at all.

"That's all behind us now, we have a whole new approach" said Rose handing over a four or five centimetre thick agreement, look at that! Totally comparable to the word count of a full-length book.

"It's the Scovia Protocol! Ratified by one hundred and seventeen countries, it states that the Avengers are no longer a private organization, but one that operates under the supervision of the United Nations, and that the decision is made whether or not to send a team into action!" Rose roughly explained the general content of this agreement.

"The Avengers exist to keep the world safe! I think we did it!" Steve said.

"Captain, do you know where Saul and Hulk are now? There will definitely be consequences if I lose two nuclear weapons!" Ross said to Steve, and suddenly Steve was a little unsure of what to say.

Banner had disappeared from the army because of Hulk, seemingly in search of what was called a spiritual path, and as for Saul, he had returned to Asgard long ago, and although Saul had been on Earth for a long time recently, he had his responsibilities as the Prince of Asgard.

"Compromise, promise! That's how the world works, and trust me this is the best way to do it!" Rose said to the crowd.

"How are you going to convince Chang Wen!" Natasha inquired.

"It's none of your business! By the way, the UN meeting is in Vienna in three days, and that's when the agreement will be ratified. You guys think about it!" When he finished, Ross left the place.

Steve turned to look at Tony, only to see that he had indicated nothing.

"What if we decide that you don't like it?" Natasha inquired as she looked at Rose who was about to leave.

"Then you are ready to retire!" Ross said rudely.

After Ross left, the Avengers present discussed for a long time. Until Chang Man arrived with Wanda and Pietro.

"Ross has a Congressional Medal of Honor, one more than you!" As Zhang Wen walked in, he heard War Machine Roddy say something else to Falcon.

"What's going on?" When Zhang Wen arrived, he saw everyone's sad faces and inquired.

"Zhang Wen? You're coming over! You know about the agreement, don't you! Any thoughts on that?" Hearing Zhang Wen's voice, Tony, who had been sitting paralyzed on top of the couch, sat up and asked.

"Agreement? The Scovia deal? I know, but they haven't had the guts to rush over to me yet!" Chang read some of it, and said very dismissively.

"Vin, Ross sent over a letter and a book called the Skovia Accords!" Just as Zhang Wen finished saying this, Mia's voice rang in his ears, causing Zhang Wen to be very, very embarrassed.

Good thing, the others couldn't hear Mia's voice.

"Ahem! What? Do you have a problem with that?" Seeing this situation, Zhang Wen was in no hurry to say that Wanda planned to join for the time being.

Chapter 199 - The Argument

There was a moment of silence, and after a long time Tony's voice rang out.

"I've been thinking about this for a long time! Regarding the Avengers, I admit we saved a lot but the world needs us to do better, that's Charles! A good boy, computer engineering major! Already planning to work at Star Labs next fall, though! He wanted to do something meaningful before he went to work." Tony got up, pulling his phone out of his pocket as he spoke, just a few taps of Charles' picture changed to a projection on the top of the phone screen.

"Charles doesn't want to go to Vegas or wherever it is that I'd go back to if I did! He didn't go to Paris or Amsterdam either. How interesting is that? He wanted to use his summer vacation to help build eco-homes for the poor, and guess where he went? Scovia!" Tony's expression was heavy as the child died solely because of him, if that e hadn't been sent then the child might have been able to survive.

"Maybe he wanted to make some changes, but now we have no way of knowing! And people like that," said Tony, sliding the screen on top of his phone, for a moment! The projection got even bigger and the figures that had death lists made up of them took up the entire screen.

"In New York, because of Chang Man's advance preparations, our casualties were so small that I hardly ever saw any bodies, but the fact remains? More than 30,000 people died in that battle ten minutes after the tight shield broke!" Tony looked very emotional as he said, displaying the various documents in his hand.

"Tony, do you ever wonder what would have happened if we hadn't been there! The death toll would be much higher, possibly even spreading to the entire planet! Whether it's New York or Scovia!" After a moment's silence, Steve spoke up.

"I've been thinking about that! Yeah, right! If we don't do it then we have more to lose, but what if we have help? If we had been able to contact the army earlier, if we had been helped! If" finished here, Tony suddenly couldn't go on, holding back from controlling the complex expression inside.

"Tony, we did it! In New York there were troops there, even nukes launched! We told them the same thing in Scovia, but no one came!" Steve looked at Tony's face and opened his mouth to explain.

"We didn't know they could be trusted!" It was then that Falcon voiced everyone's worst fears.

"We don't have to! If someone does stop them when the time comes, we'll fight them all together!" Tony wasn't so fragile after all, and while Tony was more vulnerable to this sort of thing than the others, he wasn't yet devastated.

"We can't do this!" War Machine Roddy spoke up, once the agreement is signed we have to abide by it, if we violate it then what awaits us is the entire world's arrest, and then whatever we do will be no different than a crime.

"Are they going to agree if we don't sign this thing? It's not the same thing that forces us to sign!" Natasha retorted.

"This isn't a deliberation, or an agreement, it's just an order from a bunch of people in high places! Are you quite an obedient puppy?" Zhang Wen, who had been listening to the play for a long time beside him, finally spoke up.

"Do you have any plans?" Hearing Zhang Wen's words, Tony opened his mouth to ask.

"It's simple, no signing! If anyone rushes to stop me, then fight him along with me!" Chang replied puzzled and puzzled, the matter had never bothered him before.

"You can't resist the world!" Roddy said.

"Are you sure?" Zhang Wen asked rhetorically with a disdainful face.

Walking out from inside the Stark Tower, Zhang Wen did not tell anyone about Wanda's joining, but left with them straight away, now was not the best time to join the reunion.

"Wanda, Pietro! Looks like you guys are going to have to wait a while to join the reunion!" Looking at the two people following behind him, Zhang Wen said slightly helplessly.

"I doubt if the reunion will still exist!" Pietro frowned, then said, just inside, though he hadn't been speaking, observing the Avengers' faces.

"Stark's mind is damaged, it's too fragile!" Wanda, on the other hand, hit the nail on the head with this one. Tony's mental state really wasn't very good.
