The Royal Magic Division is one of the highest institutions in the kingdom.
Its activities are diverse, and the job description varies greatly depending on the department to which you are assigned.
You can find a lot of people who have been in the same situation. It's a civilian job for the Executive Yuan. The second group is for legal affairs related to magic, and the third group is the guard of the royal capital and palace. The fourth team is for medical magic research and rescue work, the fifth team is for potions research, and the sixth team is for magical tools.
I was assigned to the same squad as Luke, squad three.
It's an important job to protect the safety of the Royal Palace and the capital in cooperation with the Royal Knights.
I've been working for a few days now.
I thought my new job was full of things to learn and that I would spend my days dizzy like my last job, but surprisingly, this wasn't the case at all.
Apparently, it seems that we are in what is classified as a quiet period of time, and as the demon activity has calmed down, many of the people in the third squad have gone to support other departments.
So the first job I had to do was to guard the royal palace and train and study in case of an emergency.
I love practicing and studying magic, so I'm really grateful for the environment in which I can do this while getting paid.
In addition, the Royal Palace where I worked was also amazing.
The Red Palace, which is praised for its grandeur, is a wonderful place where you can't help but swoon just walking around inside.
Everything you see looks expensive and stylish and is simply amazing.
There are many gems that I, as a commoner, would be purified just by touching them.
Since I work in the most glamorous palace in the kingdom, it may be only natural, but I spend my days admiring the beauty and wondering how beautiful they are.
If I accidentally broke them and had to pay for them, I'd be in debt to hell, so I would never be able to touch them.
Every time I was about to approach a beautiful piece of furniture, Luke would chuckle and watch as I did my best to jump back and distance myself from it.
Really, it's too nice of a work environment for me.
But that's why I'm a little nervous.
I wonder if I'm allowed to work here.
Because even in the local mage guild, I was treated as a liability because I couldn't do the job.
It seems that some parts of my magic and magical combat are acceptable, but the rest must be at a terrible level.
I'm sure the elite magicians who have been selected for the job must be unable to see it for what it is.
It's not just a matter of time before you'll be able to get your hands on a new one. ...... You don't have to come back tomorrow.
No!
I hate to see that happen!
We must hold on to this white workplace by any means necessary!
To that end, I started Operation Chore.
Cleaning the corps, replenishing supplies, watering plants, replacing magic lights that had begun to blink.
It was a brainstorming strategy to gain sympathy and make it harder to get fired by taking the initiative to do chores that anyone could do.
"Hey, I need someone to fix this communication device for me.
At those words, I clench my fists in my mind.
As per the strategy: ......!
I expected this to happen and prepared for it in my free time beforehand: ......!
"I got it, senpai!
"Huh?
The senior looks at the terminals of communication magic tools piled in a box.
"Which terminal did you service?
"Everything in the box. If there's anything else, I'll do it.
Senpai checking the terminal of the box with a serious face.
He pushes for a moment and then says
'.................. No, that's all there is to it, so it's okay.'
Then he looked me in the eye and continued.
"Thank you. You're a lifesaver.
I can't tell you how much those words have warmed my heart.
I had never been thanked at my last job.
We were all so exhausted that we didn't have the luxury of time to do anything about it.
But that's why it's really nice to hear your thanks.
Okay, I'm going to keep this up, promote myself more and more, and become a person to be left behind at work!
I was striving to do my chores.
