The test began.
Written exam on the first day. From morning to evening, spit out the knowledge you learned by grabbing your desk onto the answer sheet.
Even for Wendy, who took precious time to help me study, Almark couldn't possibly score an impeccable score here. Along the way, even though he was struck by the feeling of smoke coming out of his head, Almark managed to fill the majority of the answers to all the subjects that day.
Day two is a practical exam. They fry curative medicinal water correctly in time, or they play the determined mould of martial arts.
Martial arts instructor Bowen watched Almark play the mould, grinning slightly.
"If a wild wolf tried to imitate his dog, it would probably be like this"
And I uttered a metaphor that I didn't quite understand.
On the third day, oral questioning and sorcery practice.
In the oral examination, various questions, whether magic or general upbringing, are asked successively by the examiner's teachers. Students will answer it quickly and accurately. If it gets stuck at all, it is relentlessly questioned, and if it is not answered there, it is immediately reduced, so besides knowledge, it also requires the speed of rotation of the head and the courage to maintain a normal mind.
This was a relatively good area for Almark.
And at the end of the day, it's finally magic practice.
Exam venue is a magic practice area. All the students wait in order in the classroom and are called one by one to go to the venue. The contents of the exam will not be published in advance and, in order to prevent information leakage, will be returned to the dormitory from the students who have completed the exam without even going straight to the classroom.
Every time, it's a very tough exam with a bunch of tutors, but whatever this is, the three-day exam ends, and there's already a little openness in the classroom waiting for the order, even amidst tension.
But Almark waited for the order in a restless mood.
There is nothing I can do in my sorcery practice.
That's right. All I've ever trained for is meditation.
I think I've learned a lot about how to work out magic in my body. But I still don't know how to use the magic I've worked out.
I have no idea what the exam will entail, but Almark has no choice. Anyway, I just have to try one or eight with the magic I've been working on to fit that title.
Almark was so prepared.
"Almark, it's a normal mind."
Morgen, who looked so bluer than Almark, spoke to me that way, but that he was also called to the exam and is no longer there.
Wendy's name was called and Wendy replied and stood up. Softly come next to Almark just before you leave the classroom,
"It's okay. Believe what Almark has done so far"
He told me.
Happy, but at the same time filled with pity.
What I've done...? Just meditation. Believe me, I don't have anything to believe in the first place. I really didn't do anything but meditate.
Students in the classroom, one by one, are decreasing.
Almark is the last in this class to be called because of his transfer.
I just have to shut up and drop off the nervous faceted Nelson or Norish or Lilty or the usual facial Layla or Wallis one after the other.
Just before he left, Torque laughed when he saw Almark nervously.
"Just in case, do you need to be nervous? You think you can do something?"
I know that, Almark thought. But we have to do something. I don't want to get good grades, etc. But I didn't like to give up and be remedial from the start because I couldn't do anything.
Above all, I don't want Wendy to be disappointed.
Of course, I'd love to go to Wendy's mansion for the summer vacation with Morgen, if possible, but now I'm more afraid of Wendy letting me down than that.
If you notice, there are two more in the classroom. All that's left is Deg, besides Almark.
"Soon we'll be alone, Deg."
When Almark spoke somehow, Deg laughed and said nothing.
Deg is a boy with Galein who always follows Torque like a child. He's a little dull at first glance, and stuck to the torque simply seems to come from the feeling that the torque is strong = cool.
But both he and Almark have shown top notch talent in class for the art of object flotation and so on, and have seen how he carries a stone placed fairly far away in his hand with one fingertip.
"You're good, Deg. Your technique of object flotation is amazing. I don't have any magic to use, I'm jealous."
Good thing Deg doesn't say anything, Almark accidentally wore such a weak sound.
But soon, I realized that even Deg would be uncomfortable to be told that he was going to take the exam.
I rushed to undo it, but unexpectedly Deg answered Almark's words with a smile on his face.
"I envy Almark."
"Oh, you envy me?
When Almark was puzzled, Deg continued with a smile.
"Because my teacher always says so. What you see isn't that important."
"Huh...?
That's when Deg's name was called, and Deg got up.
"Everybody thinks so. He said he envied Almark. Even Leila and Wallis must have."
Deg left that smile unchanged and left the classroom.
"Envious...? Me?"
Almark remained perplexed in the classroom where he was left alone, muttering so.
