Almark and Morgen, who again took a few days to return to the college, still had to spend time in a sparsely populated dorm until the end of their vacation.

It was on my first day back at the dorm that I was busy writing back to the letters I had received from Nelson and Lilty, and going to greet the College Director with a souvenir (although I was away), but from the next day on, my life was so monotonous that I wondered what my days were at that winter mansion.

But life was the same. But there were changes in the mood between the two of us.

Almark originally lived a meditative and reading centered life during his vacation, but when he returned, he became even more eager to read various books.

Towards post-vacation magic instruction, he also worked more intensively than ever to train in meditation.

What was surprising was that even Morgen enthusiastically started practicing magic.

"This time, I knew very well that my magic was useless when something happened, as it is now."

That's what Morgen says, silently encouraging magical practice.

Even in the eyes of Almark's amateur, Morgen's magic turned out to be improving since that journey.

That one day.

After breakfast, as usual, the two of them tried to leave the dining room and were suddenly called off by Maia, the dorm administrator.

"You guys! It's you guys, the thin ones there and the thick ones. Yes, little fat people pointing to their faces, you guys. Hey, come here."

Two people lined up in front of the dreaded Maia.

Maia is two or more minutes smaller in the head than the two of us.

Because of the bent hips, my jaw is still going to get to the floor.

"... hey, what is it..."

"Cassis caught a summer cold."

Suddenly, Maia said.

……

"Reply!!"

Maia yells.

"Yes!"

The two reply in a hurry.

"You're in third grade, aren't you?

……

"Reply!!"

"Yes!"

"Yes!

Maia sighs.

"Damn, I don't know if I'm going to tell you the younger ones these days. Look, you guys are the finest third graders in this dorm, so you don't have to tell me this. What if Cassis has a summer cold?"

After hearing so much about it, Morgen finally realizes that Cassis is the name of an old man who is doing things like managing shared equipment for the dorm and making simple repairs in the dorm.

"Or if Mr. Cassis has a cold, er"

Morgen starts to say, but Almark hasn't quite arrived yet.

"Morgen, who's Mr. Cassis?"

The word touches the reverse scale of Maia.

"You take care of me every day and you don't even know my name! I bet you've lived here for two and a half years! You ungrateful bastard!

Maia yelled at me, and Almark

No, I haven't.

I call it, but Morgen controls me by hand.

Morgen's eyes say it doesn't make sense to Mr. Maia, but it's not magic or anything. It was passed on to Almark.

"I don't know if you guys think of Cassis as just a handy little use, but that's a fine guy. Work well without complaining. If he's gone, this dorm won't go around."

Maia keeps talking to both of us.

"We all have to take care of Cassis so he doesn't disappear. Can you make me work even though I have a cold? Luckily, I'm on vacation now, so there are only nine students, including me. It takes a tenth of what Cassis usually does, so you two can do it. It's the responsibility of the finest students. I don't usually give back properly in places like this for ungrateful minutes"

I also feel like the rationale goes through, but there's just no way to put it this way.

When Almark tries to argue,

"I'll do it"

Morgen answers instantly.

"Almark, let's do it"

"I don't mind doing it, but I don't really know how to say this to you, Maia"

"Maia, I'll do it!!"

Almark's dissatisfaction was dispelled by Morgen's loud voice.

"Right. Then I asked for it. Between tomorrow and when Cassis gets better, come to me for work after breakfast."

Maia says satisfactorily, pulling up.

You're so hip bent, you're walking terribly fast.

And, stopping at the pitch, suddenly turning them both around.

"Oh, my third floor staircase handrail is broken for today, so tell me to fix it. You know the tools are in the equipment room that Cassis always uses, right?

"I know!

Maia nods and walks away when Morgen answers.

"Morgen. Isn't that a lot of Maia's sayings? Why do you keep your mouth shut?"

When Almark stuffs Morgen, Morgen shakes his head.

"Thank you Maia for taking care of me... I really bothered you because I didn't know anything about it in my freshman year. And."

"And?"

"This is a rumor, though."

Morgen lurked his voice and told Almark.

"When you defy Mr. Maia, he sees you scared. They're trapped in the basement of this dorm."
