Chapter 210 - 207: Buy Buy Buy
Qian Sanduo felt like he was about to explode with anger. Watching a profitable business slip into someone else’s hands was as heartbreaking as watching his own daughter run off with another man.
If it weren’t for Feng Hao’s connection to the Thief God, he would have genuinely suspected Feng Hao was a mole from the Holy Hall.
"This is my fault; I didn’t give you a heads-up," Feng Hao said, a little embarrassed. "I gave the Life Spirit Pills and Snow Frost Ointment to the Treasure Pavilion mainly because my girlfriend is from the Holy Hall. Besides, I was also worried about overworking you, wasn’t I?"
"Bullshit! Making money never tires me out." Qian Sanduo snorted, his expression turning to surprise. "By the way, kid, when did you get a girlfriend? And a damn Holy Hall member, at that. You haven’t been tricked, have you?"
Feng Hao grinned. "How could I get tricked? We were already dating before I came to Five States City."
"That’s good, then." Qian Sanduo secretly sighed in relief, his brow furrowing. "Although we at the Thief God Hall advocate for romantic freedom, your situation is rather special. After all, that girl is from the Holy Hall."
"I know." Feng Hao nodded. "Don’t worry, old thief. As long as I’m around, the Thief God Hall and the Holy Hall will be allies."
"Get real. How could that bunch of self-righteous bastards from the Holy Hall ever ally with us?" Qian Sanduo said, his eyes filled with disdain.
"How will we know it’s impossible if we don’t try?" Feng Hao asked with a smile.
Qian Sanduo was taken aback. He frowned in thought and said, "In any case, you’d better be on your guard. From my years of dealing with the Holy Hall, those people are more treacherous than the last."
"Thanks for the concern, old thief. I know how to handle myself," Feng Hao said with a smiling nod.
"Good." Qian Sanduo nodded thoughtfully, then stood up. "We’ll let this matter slide for now. But next time, you must come to me first. You hear me?"
"Alright, alright. Take care," Feng Hao said, seeing him off with a smile.
Qian Sanduo nodded in satisfaction, turned to leave the shop, then suddenly stopped. "Oh, right. The profits from the Wind Clothing Store for the last two months have been converted into points. Go pick them up at the Hall when you have time."
"Really?" Feng Hao’s eyes lit up. "As it happens, I had to make a trip to the Hall anyway. I’ll go with you."
"Go by yourself if you’re going. I still have a lot to take care of." Qian Sanduo huffed, then turned and left in a huff.
Feng Hao shook his head awkwardly. After giving a few instructions to Yao Ying, he drove toward the Thief God Hall.
Come to think of it, he hadn’t been to the Thief God Hall in a long time, not since returning to Rongcheng.
The Thief God Hall was the same as always. Countless colleagues were busy at the Commission Terminals, and one could occasionally hear voices seeking partners for jobs.
Feng Hao wasn’t short on points right now, so there was no need to grind for commissions. He walked straight to the front desk, where the receptionist was his old acquaintance, Sister Ling.
"Little thief, it’s been over a month, hasn’t it?" Sister Ling put down her work, teasing him with a light laugh.
"It has been a while." Feng Hao gave a sheepish smile and casually placed his Thief’s Mark on the identification panel. "I heard from Minister Qian that my points came in, so I’m here to collect them."
Sister Ling nodded in understanding, her eyes full of envy. "Sigh, some people have all the luck. Your big sister here has to work her tail off every day just to earn a couple hundred points, while you, kid, get points for doing nothing."
"Hehe, just lucky is all," Feng Hao said modestly.
DING—!
With a soft chime, Sister Ling stopped operating the machine. "The points have been transferred. Check for yourself."
"Mm." Feng Hao nodded lightly and eagerly extended his Divine Sense into his Thief’s Mark.
Name: Feng Hao
Origin: Jinzhou - Rongcheng
Title: Level 7 Thief
Points: 25,575
Commission Authority: Advanced
Current Commission: None
’Whoa, the Wind Clothing Store’s earnings have been pretty good these past two months!’ Feng Hao exclaimed to himself.
He had collected his points not long ago, but after spending them on various materials, he was left with just over three thousand. He never expected to shoot past twenty-five thousand in one go. ’Good grief, twenty thousand points is no small sum.’
"Don’t get all smug on me," Sister Ling said, rolling her eyes. "If there’s nothing else, step aside. Don’t interrupt my work."
Snapping out of his daze, Feng Hao chuckled. "Actually, there is something else."
"What is it? Spit it out," Sister Ling said impatiently.
Feng Hao didn’t waste any words. He took out a Spatial Ring containing an MP3 player and Snow Frost Ointment and said with a serious expression, "I need to send something to a friend in the Dust Wind Country. How many points would it cost to post a delivery commission?"
"What’s in it? Is it valuable?" Sister Ling asked, puzzled.
"Quite valuable," Feng Hao answered truthfully.
Sister Ling frowned. "For valuable items, it’s best to post an advanced commission. A delivery to the Dust Wind Country will cost around 500 to 800 points. If you’re in a hurry, I’d suggest posting it for 800. After all, the more points you offer, the faster it gets done."
"Alright, 800 points it is." Feng Hao readily agreed. ’I’m not short on points anyway.’
Sister Ling chuckled and nodded. After a flurry of clacks on her console, she tossed a form to Feng Hao.
Feng Hao filled out the form with the address Yu Xiaoxiao had provided and handed it back to Sister Ling.
Sister Ling took the form and paused, her expression turning strange. "This is going to Thousand Blades Valley?"
"What’s wrong? Is that not allowed?" Feng Hao asked, taken aback.
"It’s not that. It’s just... you’ll need to add more points. At least 1,000. Otherwise, no one will take the risk."
Lines of frustration appeared on Feng Hao’s face. "Fine, 1,000 it is."
After a bit more hassle, the commission for a delivery to Thousand Blades Valley in the Dust Wind Country appeared on the main screen in the hall, waiting for a colleague to accept it.
After settling things for Yu Xiaoxiao, Feng Hao didn’t leave right away. Instead, he walked into the Treasure Pavilion.
With so many points on hand, it was time for a spending spree. He exchanged for all sorts of rare medicinal herbs and precious metals in one go, and his points quickly dwindled to fifteen thousand. The expenditure was massive.
’These materials should last me a while. Time to check out the Jade Scroll Area.’
He moved from the materials section to the Jade Scroll Area. Unlike last time, when he only had a few hundred points, he now swept his Divine Sense across the shelves. He snatched up every jade scroll and book he needed. ’Who’s going to stop me? I’m loaded now!’
’An "Advanced Principles of Magic Energy Mechanisms"? Only 150 points? I’ll take it!’
’"Detailed Analysis of the Sects of the Ancient Cang Realm"? Buy!’
’"Introduction to the Legacies of Major Sects and Their Practical Applications"? Buy!’
’"Theory of Universal Demon Pattern Construction"? Haha, I need this one! Buy!’
’"Tourist Attractions of Beilang Country"? Buy!’
’"Anecdotes about the Female Disciples of the War and Magic Alliance"? Holy crap, they even have stuff this good? Buy, buy, buy!’
...
After his shopping spree, his fifteen thousand points had instantly shrunk to just over eight thousand. If not for the sheer volume of jade scrolls and books, Feng Hao would have been tempted to haul the entire Jade Scroll Area and data section home with him.
’Tsk tsk, this many jade scrolls will be enough to keep me busy studying for a year or two.’ Looking at the mountain of jade scrolls and books piled up in his Spatial Ring, Feng Hao wore a satisfied expression.
After leaving the Thief God Hall, he drove his Mansa all the way back to the general store.
While driving, he initiated a Stone Listening Communication call to Yu Xiaoxiao. "Hey, hey, can you hear me?"
