Chapter 221 - 218: I Have This Habit
Feng Hao subconsciously turned his head and saw a gorgeously dressed young woman staring at him with cold eyes. Her gaze, her posture—she was the very picture of a proud little peacock.
The arrogant girl was level 42, around the same age as Feng Hao. To possess such strength at her age, she certainly had the right to be proud.
Of course, this bit of strength was nothing to Feng Hao. What truly caught his attention was the blue-robed young man beside the arrogant girl. His aura was completely restrained, but his strength was as high as level 48, giving off the impression that he was hiding his true depth.
"Is there a rule that says this is your spot?" Feng Hao sneered playfully.
Hearing this, the arrogant girl flew into a rage. "Bastard! Who in all of Snow Cloud City doesn’t know this is my spot?"
"My apologies. I just so happen to be one who doesn’t," Feng Hao said with a smirk.
Wang Tongqian stood to the side, smiling without a word. He had originally planned to step in and resolve the matter himself, but seeing Feng Hao’s confident expression, he decided to let Feng Hao handle it. It was also a chance to see Feng Hao’s strength. In any case, with him there, Feng Hao couldn’t possibly be in any danger.
"Looking to die, are you?" The arrogant girl gritted her teeth and snorted, then said to the blue-robed youth beside her, "Xue Shaojie, drag this hick out of here."
"No problem." Xue Shaojie gave a sinister smile and strode up to Feng Hao, his eyes glinting mockingly. "Brat, are you going to get lost on your own, or will I have to help you?"
Feng Hao’s interest was piqued as well. He stood up to meet his gaze. "Heh, you want to fight?"
"A level thirty-eight has the right to fight me?" Xue Shaojie said contemptuously. "Scram, now. Don’t get in the way of my fun."
’So much nonsense before a fight.’ Feng Hao chuckled to himself as the Su Mu Dagger appeared in his hand.
Seeing Feng Hao draw his weapon, Xue Shaojie’s eyes filled with ridicule. "Hilarious. You dare to challenge me with a set of trash gear and a pair of Tier Four Daggers? Fine. I’ll let you experience the difference between a genius and a muggle."
With that, Xue Shaojie cracked his neck, his eyes dripping with mockery. "Come on. To deal with a muggle like you, I don’t even need a weapon."
"Are you sure?" Feng Hao asked with a surprised smile.
Xue Shaojie just snorted, his eyes filled with contempt.
At that moment, Lu Linfei from the next table stood up, his expression grave. "Little Thief, don’t be reckless! This man is the number one genius of Snow Cloud Advanced Academy. His strength is not to be underestimated."
"Heh, I was wondering who it was. If it isn’t my defeated foe!" Seeing Lu Linfei, Xue Shaojie grew even more arrogant.
"Xue Shaojie, do you really think I’m afraid of you?" Lu Linfei said, gritting his teeth.
Xue Shaojie said scornfully, "A defeated foe dares to run his mouth? I won’t bully you. Why don’t you both come at me together?"
"You..." Lu Linfei’s face turned ashen. He was about to attack when Feng Hao stopped him.
Feng Hao smiled faintly, pulled Lu Linfei aside, and said, "Thanks for stepping up, Brother Zei, but leave this punk to me."
Lu Linfei was stunned. He looked at him, bewildered. "Can you handle him?"
"Don’t worry," Feng Hao said with a mysterious smile.
Lu Linfei was about to say more when he suddenly sensed a terrifying aura. He subconsciously turned his head and saw Wang Tongqian looking at him with a faint smile.
Feeling the fluctuation of the Thief’s Mark, Lu Linfei was so frightened he was dumbstruck. He backed away to the side, full of shock and suspicion.
Seeing Lu Linfei return, the sharp-tongued woman grabbed his arm and said irritably, "I told you not to meddle. See? He doesn’t even appreciate it."
"Shh, quiet down," Lu Linfei said in a hushed voice, having recovered from his shock.
"Lu, you dare to snap at me?" the sharp-tongued woman huffed indignantly.
Lu Linfei was speechless. He could only pull her aside with a wry smile and tell her Wang Tongqian’s identity, which finally quieted her down.
Meanwhile, Feng Hao was already facing off against Xue Shaojie. He skillfully toyed with his Su Mu Dagger, glancing at the arrogant girl. "You’re both geniuses from an Advanced Academy, right?"
"What? Scared now?" the arrogant girl sneered.
"Not at all," Feng Hao said, shaking his head with a smile. "I have this habit... I can’t stand it when people call themselves geniuses in front of me, especially the wet-behind-the-ears ’geniuses’ from the academies. So, I think you should just come at me together."
The arrogant girl’s face twisted in fury. She shrieked, "Xue Shaojie, tear his mouth off for me!"
"You’re dead—!" Xue Shaojie no longer hesitated. He sneered and charged at Feng Hao, his fists creating gusts of wind, his presence overwhelming.
As the fight was about to erupt, the surrounding crowd gasped. Everyone thought Feng Hao was a dead man. After all, there was a full ten-level difference between them, not to mention the gap in their equipment.
To be honest, even Wang Tongqian felt a little uneasy. Although he knew Feng Hao was quite strong, Xue Shaojie was no simple opponent either.
However, just as everyone thought Feng Hao was about to be beaten into a bloody pulp, his figure suddenly vanished. Xue Shaojie’s ferocious attack hit nothing but air.
"Huh? Where’d he go?" A bewildered murmur rose from the crowd.
Someone quickly stepped forward to explain, "It’s the [Shadow] Legacy from the Thief God Hall. No wonder the kid was so fearless."
"Yeah, with the [Shadow] Legacy, even if he can’t win, he can still run."
"So you’re saying the kid already ran away?"
"Probably."
Xue Shaojie’s face was ashen. He didn’t have a good way to deal with the [Shadow] Legacy. Fortunately, the arrogant girl beside him shouted a warning, "Watch out! He’s behind you!"
Startled, Xue Shaojie subconsciously activated Shadow Strike to leap a good distance away, dodging Feng Hao’s sneak attack.
At the same time, Feng Hao reappeared where Xue Shaojie had just been, a playful look on his face. He said mockingly, "At this rate, you two might as well just attack me together."
"Brat, don’t think I won’t do anything to you just because you have the Thief God Hall backing you," Xue Shaojie snorted. A pair of exquisite twin blades appeared in his hands, and with a flourish, they unleashed a wave of blade energy.
SWOOSH! SWOOSH! SWOOSH!
Feng Hao easily dodged the sweeping blade energy. With the arrogant girl acting as a spotter, he couldn’t be bothered to use [Shadowmeld]. He just charged forward with a Shadow Strike of his own, sneering, "You dare to play with dual blades with this level of skill?"
"Flaming Blade Dance!"
Xue Shaojie smirked contemptuously. His twin blades spun and danced, and in an instant, fiery light exploded outwards. Countless flaming blade-shadows formed a whirlwind that swiftly enveloped Feng Hao.
Feng Hao’s brow tightened. These flaming blade-shadows were actually undodgeable, instantly wiping out over twenty thousand of his Qi Blood. What was even more infuriating was that his Shadow Beast Hide Armor was also torn to shreds.
There was nothing he could do. His opponent’s weapon had extremely high sharpness, and this [Flaming Blade Dance] skill clearly had a sharpness-boosting property. The 40 points of toughness from his Shadow Beast Hide Armor stood no chance of resisting it.
"Fuck, you’re paying for my gear!" Feng Hao’s temper flared. In the blink of an eye, he charged forward, slashing at Xue Shaojie with [Dark Moon Slaughter].
Xue Shaojie, naturally, wouldn’t take the hit head-on. He immediately used Shadow Strike to dodge.
However, Feng Hao had already predicted the approximate location of his Shadow Strike. He used his own Shadow Strike at almost the exact same time. A sweep of his [Moon Wheel Dance] instantly wiped out half of Xue Shaojie’s Qi Blood.
Before Xue Shaojie could react, Feng Hao’s second attack had already locked onto his vitals. [Moon Thorn] shot out silently.
