Chapter 1374 - 1389: The Mysterious Celestial Eagle
After the bandaging, King Kong kept brooding in silence, and just as Lin Mu took out a cigarette, King Kong finally spoke. "Brother Lin... I... you..."
"Uh... what’s up with this guy today?" Lin Mu was really thrown off by this big black dude acting all shy and awkward.
"Brother Lin, I owe you my life today. From now on, I, King Kong, am sticking with you. This is a debt I, King Kong, owe you!" King Kong looked at Lin Mu with utter sincerity as he spoke. Obviously, Lin Mu taking those knife blows for him had jabbed right into the toughest part of King Kong’s heart. A straightforward tough guy like him, once you touch his heart, he’ll follow his boss with real loyalty and his life on the line. Of course, Lin Mu was willing to take those stabs partly with a bit of selfish calculation—he’d indeed intended to win King Kong’s allegiance. This was also the best way to conquer King Kong!
Lin Mu waved his hand. "Between brothers, there’s no talk of who owes who. If you make it this formal, it’ll be hard to stay brothers in the future."
"Mm, Brother Lin, your lesson is right!" King Kong nodded.
Lin Mu could also see the sincerity in King Kong’s words. A real man like this disdains playing tricks just to curry favor, so King Kong definitely wouldn’t lie. This kind of hard man is the type who speaks straight from the heart, whatever he’s thinking inside is exactly what comes out of his mouth.
Lin Mu was pretty pleased inside. He’d finally made this iron-blooded man completely submit to him. With a fierce general like King Kong at his side, he’d definitely be able to put him to great use.
Once the wounds were bandaged, the battle gradually faded into the background. It was already very late. Lin Mu didn’t bother going back to the hotel—anyway, the Hai Family mansion had plenty of rooms, and Lin Mu was already Haihua’s quasi-husband, so of course he had the right to stay in Haihua’s room.
As for King Kong, his room had long been arranged. Both Lin Mu and King Kong had taken knife wounds, but with Lin Mu’s special Elixir, it didn’t affect them much. As for King Kong’s two broken ribs, for this iron-boned hard man, it was basically like a minor workplace injury and would heal up soon enough.
Lin Mu’s recovery ability was even more astonishing. As long as it wasn’t a fatal injury, with his Black Qi Divine Skill at the Profound Red Realm, he only needed one hour to completely repair himself, like recharging a battery and coming back to life with full HP.
So after Lin Mu finished self-healing, it didn’t stop him from doing that most wonderful "bed exercise" with Haihua that night... letting Haihua experience, over and over, the bliss of truly being a woman for an entire night...
When they woke up the next day, it was already past ten. No one had come to disturb them, so they naturally slept until they woke up on their own. And the reason they woke up like that, of course, had everything to do with last night’s passionate workout.
After getting up, Lin Mu and Haihua went downstairs planning to grab a bite, and ran right into King Kong sitting alone in the living room.
King Kong looked much more spirited now, but he still seemed gloomy. Sitting there on the sofa, he looked like some philosopher contemplating ideals and life, his eyes blankly staring straight ahead, no one knew what he was thinking.
"Damn! Looks just like a professor! Knows how to ponder the meaning of life now! That’s progress!" Lin Mu couldn’t help giving him a thumbs-up, then shook his head helplessly.
Of course, Lin Mu didn’t bother with King Kong and just let this guy keep pondering his life, because life really is a beautiful and interesting thing! It’s just that the world of giants might be beyond normal people’s understanding, right? After all, People stand higher and see farther!
So a worldly guy like Lin Mu only knew how to befriend three meals a day—hungry, then go fill the stomach. He and Haihua sat down and started on breakfast.
The Hai Family was fairly well-off—not only did they have maids, they had a dedicated chef, so breakfast was always ready no matter when you ate. The life of the rich really is nice! After they finished eating, King Kong was still sitting dumbly on the sofa, maintaining that same balls-aching philosopher pose. Lin Mu couldn’t help wanting to go over and say something.
"Hey, King Kong, what are you doing?" Lin Mu patted King Kong on the shoulder as he spoke.
Even though King Kong was spacing out, this big guy didn’t get startled. He slowly turned his head, looked at Lin Mu, and said, "I’m thinking about something."
"Thinking about what?" Lin Mu asked in puzzlement. What could this guy be thinking about? Had he taken a fancy to that cute little maid in the Hai Family mansion and was plotting to chase a girl? But judging by King Kong’s personality, he really didn’t seem like the lecherous type who likes picking up chicks! Of course, Lin Mu wouldn’t maliciously assume King Kong was into men either. It’s just that a big lug like King Kong is a total blockhead, dedicating all his brain cells to training and killing—he basically has no time to fall in love, right?
"Something about the Celestial Eagle Gang." King Kong said flatly.
"What are you thinking about the Celestial Eagle Gang for?" Lin Mu felt this guy was really bored out of his mind.
"Although we took out six from the Celestial Eagle Gang, and with me gone they’ve lost seven in total, there are still three left. Based on Celestial Eagle’s personality, I figure he’ll send assassins again." King Kong said.
"Uh... what’s there to worry about? We already offed six of them, you think I’m scared of the three left?" Lin Mu spread his hands carelessly.
"I’m not worried about those three. I’m worried Celestial Eagle will come personally this time. If he comes in person, then things get tricky." King Kong said with concern. Lin Mu hadn’t expected a fierce guy like King Kong to actually feel worried or afraid, which showed that this Celestial Eagle really was a tough bastard with terrifying skills.
"Is that Celestial Eagle really that scary?" Lin Mu asked.
"Yeah, he’s very strong, his methods are beyond imagination, and his strength is unfathomable." King Kong nodded.
"Oh, then let him come. If he shows up, I’ll just kill him, saves me the trouble of looking for him. That’s all there is to it. You don’t need to worry." Lin Mu waved his hand nonchalantly.
"But that’s the problem. I’ve never seen what he looks like. If he makes a move when we’re completely unprepared, supposedly no one can escape." King Kong said.
Hearing this, Lin Mu couldn’t help being very surprised. King Kong was originally a subordinate of the Celestial Eagle Gang, and yet he’d never seen the boss’s real face? That really was bizarre!
"King Kong, you’re saying... you’ve never seen what the old boss, Celestial Eagle, actually looks like?" Lin Mu asked, puzzled.
"Yeah, I haven’t. I mean, I’ve never seen his true face. From when I was a kid until now, it’s been twenty years, and I still don’t know what he looks like. He’s always kept himself mysterious and has never shown his real appearance in front of us." King Kong nodded.
"Fuck, twenty years and you’ve never seen what your boss looks like?" Lin Mu couldn’t help shaking his head and sighing. Damn, this Celestial Eagle is way too low-key and mysterious as a person. A subordinate follows him for twenty years and never sees his true face—this really is something you just can’t wrap your head around!
