Chapter 1418 - 1433: Someone Provokes
After smoking a cigarette, the two massive guys immediately perked up. Both of these fat guys have freakishly strong physiques, and their recovery abilities are many times stronger than ordinary people.
"Boss, why don’t the three of us play cards? It’s so damn boring," Earth Wolf suggested.
Lin Mu felt quite bored too. Damn, every channel is an anti-Japanese war drama, and the plot is totally unwatchable—hand tearing ghosts, grenades hidden in crotches, stones can smash planes, bullets that can change direction. Damn, even the old man at home who’s as mythical wouldn’t be able to do these things, let alone ordinary people!
So this TV is really unbearable to watch anymore. If there were Japanese romance action movies, it would be quite nice. Unfortunately, sensei Soko has switched to the new literary style, acting in youth art dramas, and teacher Kouto has had few recent works, the old films have long been tiring. So might as well play cards with these two guys to earn some money. Of course, these two are broke losers who usually take a salary from me. But playing cards is the best way to kill some boring time.

Lin Mu instructed a member of the Hai Family to fetch a deck of playing cards, and then the three of them started playing "Fight the Landlord". The line was silent for a moment before a man’s voice sounded, "Heh, Lin Mu, right?"
As soon as Lin Mu heard the voice on the phone, his face changed immediately, because it was Haihua’s number, and now it’s a man calling—something must have happened to Haihua.
This made Lin Mu think of Celestial Eagle—recently there have been attacks on Scarface, Earth Wolf, and King Kong, making Lin Mu suspect they might target Haihua next.
"Who are you? Where is Haihua?" Lin Mu asked coldly.
"Haihua went to the bathroom. I heard you’re her boyfriend, so I used her phone to call you. To be honest, I’m kinda interested in Haihua too. Want to meet up? I want to see what her boyfriend is like," the guy laughed maliciously.
Lin Mu heard this and breathed a sigh of relief—it sounded like a friend of Haihua’s on the phone, and there was even singing in the background.
As long as it’s not Tang Sect people, Lin Mu felt at ease. To be honest, the phone call made Lin Mu nervous earlier, especially because Haihua is a girl and unskilled in anything. If caught by Tang Hongwei’s men, the consequences would be unthinkable.
However, this time Lin Mu felt relieved—it was only a rival in love.
"Heh, sure thing. Where are you? I can come to find you," Lin Mu chuckled over the phone.
"I’m over at the Golden Supreme Club on Binhe Road. If you’ve got the guts, come over," the guy said to Lin Mu.
"Alright, wait for me. I’ll be there soon, heh," Lin Mu laughed.
"Pang Baiwu, why are you calling with Haihua’s phone?"
"What’s wrong? Can’t I make a call?"
"It’s kinda disrespectful to Haihua, don’t you think?"
These were voices from the phone—a male and female conversation. It looked like Pang Baiwu had been caught using Haihua’s phone, and someone commented on it. Lin Mu wasn’t interested in listening to this, so he hung up.
Since a rival called him out, and bored anyway, Lin Mu was quite interested in finding some fun.
After hanging up, Lin Mu tossed the cards on the ground, "I’m done, I’ve got something to do."
"What’s up?" Earth Wolf asked.
"Nothing much, just going for some fun. You guys stay at home and recover properly," Lin Mu said, standing up.
"Boss, we want to go too," Earth Wolf stood up, "It’s too boring at home, and we can’t play cards."
King Kong nodded and said, "Our injuries are fine, moving around might help us heal quicker."
Understanding King Kong and Earth Wolf’s boredom, Lin Mu nodded, waved them along, "Let’s go, we’ll go together."
"Haha, great," Earth Wolf and King Kong both smiled slightly, following Lin Mu out.
"Oh my, wait a minute," Lin Mu said.
"What’s up, boss?" Earth Wolf asked in confusion.
"At least wear something to cover those bandages, that’s not very civil," Lin Mu said.
King Kong and Earth Wolf scratched their heads, went back upstairs, quickly changed into loose clothing, then followed Lin Mu out of the Hai Family home.
Before leaving, Haihua had already left her car keys with Lin Mu. So Lin Mu easily took a Benz from the Hai Family garage. Haihua’s family owns quite a few cars, and they’re all pretty nice.
Lin Mu opened the navigation and drove towards the Golden Supreme Club. It wasn’t too far from Haihua’s family home—about a fifteen-minute drive.
Upon arriving at the club’s entrance, Lin Mu parked the car. At this point, his phone rang again, showing an unfamiliar number. Lin Mu picked it up, and before he spoke, a familiar voice came through.
This voice, Lin Mu recognized, was the one from earlier—Pang Baiwu, who had sneakily used Haihua’s phone while she went to the bathroom.
"Well? Have you arrived? Don’t tell me you’re too scared to come," Pang Baiwu arrogantly said.
"Heh, I’m already here. Which floor and room number?" Lin Mu asked with a laugh, thinking to himself that Pang Baiwu is quite a show-off. If he doesn’t give him a good lesson later, it wouldn’t do him justice.
"Fourth floor, room 402 VIP—it’s right by the staircase, you’ll see it as soon as you come in," Pang Baiwu said arrogantly.
"Alright, I’ll be there right away."
Lin Mu smiled, hung up the phone, then addressed King Kong and Earth Wolf, "Are you guys waiting in the car or should we go in together?"
"Of course, we’re going in together," Earth Wolf said.
"Going in sounds good, but you two can’t stick too close to me. Act like we don’t know each other, or your presence might scare him off," Lin Mu said. Nowadays, the trend is to play ’the underdog’, so the more convincing the act, the more fun it’ll be!
