The housekeeping auntie from the property management came over quickly. Finnian opened all the doors and windows of the cottage to air it out, then led Chloe Winston upstairs, laughing: "I’ll take you up to have a look. Basically, downstairs is the living room, and upstairs is laid out with a three-bedroom design. There are two balconies, the master bedroom has one, and there’s an open-air balcony in the bathroom."

Chloe Winston held her shoulder bag, stepped on the spiral staircase and went up, looked at the super luxurious crystal tassel chandelier, and playfully stuck out her tongue, saying: "A spiral staircase for just a two-story house, isn’t that a bit too luxurious?"

Seeing her lively appearance, Finnian couldn’t help but chuckle. This is, after all, a super luxurious little villa, just at the price of a bungalow. It’s a house intended for government officials, everything is made to the highest standard. Could it compare to those developed by outside developers?

"Tomorrow, you can handle the real estate certificate, and then the household registration here. From now on, you’ll be a citizen of the Imperial City." Finnian smiled.

"It’s not easy to get household registration now, even if you have a house, you have to queue." Chloe Winston had long wanted to get registered in the Imperial City. Before, she was registered under the welfare institution’s collective account. Later, when she married Constantine Stewart, they registered overseas. Luckily, Constantine Stewart was a naturalized Chinese born in France, and she was part of the collective account, so her registration wasn’t transferred out, or else there would’ve been a heap of troublesome issues later.

"You’re a celebrity, and the house you are registering under was government-approved; it’s much easier than for ordinary people. Chloe, if there are difficulties, mention it to me, I’ll find a way." Finnian said, thinking of the collective account’s registration proof he saw earlier, frowned and asked: "If I may ask, is Constantine Stewart French?"

"His family immigrated to France a long time ago, Constantine Stewart was born in France." Chloe Winston said, biting her lip.

"Did you register your marriage abroad? Did you supplement related procedures after returning to the country?"

Chloe Winston nodded, then shook her head.

Finnian nodded, having understood clearly. Chloe is only in her early twenties, lacking such knowledge. They registered their marriage abroad, didn’t supplement procedures upon returning, adding Constantine Stewart’s French nationality, their domestic divorce case wouldn’t be processed here.

"Brother Finnian, is there a problem?" Chloe Winston also realized something wasn’t right.

"Generally speaking, in your situation, for divorce, you have to propose it at the embassy abroad. You better confirm whether you’re really divorced." Finnian said.

Chloe Winston thought it was a bigger deal, laughed after hearing: "When we divorced, we signed an agreement; all procedures were handled by Constantine Stewart’s assistant. Constantine Stewart didn’t get involved, the procedures must be fine."

Constantine Stewart never procrastinated; during the divorce he didn’t show up, fearing her entanglement, so naturally, the procedures were settled properly.

"That’s for the best." Finnian smiled slightly, "See the layout of the second floor, if you have any ideas for changes, mention them, I’ll find someone to handle it."

Chloe Winston looked at it, the second floor has three rooms, the master bedroom with a balcony is sixty square meters, the balcony faces Azure Lake, the bathroom is next to the master bedroom with space that’s astonishingly large.

"No need for changes, it’s just perfect as it is." Chloe Winston smiled, the other two rooms one as a guest room, one as a closet, the study and storage room are set in the living room downstairs, it’s simply perfect.

The bathroom needs a custom bathtub, the bedroom needs wallpaper, she doesn’t like the cold white walls, preferring simple, pattern-less wallpaper, orders for custom bed and sofa, just buying everything altogether.

"Tomorrow’s the weekend, I’ll accompany you to the home market to look for furniture. Many things need customization, and it takes a few days for delivery." Finnian laughed.

"Brother Finnian, you’ve already helped me a lot." Chloe Winston said, eyes misty.

"We’re neighbors after all." Finnian smiled politely.

When Chloe Winston got home, it was already 8 p.m., only then did she have time to check her phone. Seeing 99+ messages on WeChat, she opened it, noticing Constantine Stewart at some point had created a group which Wendy Starling invited her into. It was the same old variety show group, just minus Lorraine Artist.

Chloe Winston didn’t bother to check the history, sent a period to show she’s alive, and immediately got caught by Desmond Wood.

"Chloe Winston, you heartless girl, I’ve tagged you all day and you didn’t respond."

Chloe Winston: "I went to buy a house." Then sent a smiling face.

Such a joyous occasion she had to share with someone, otherwise it’s hard to hold back.

"Congratulations."

"Congratulations +1."

"Congratulations +2."

Everyone expressed their congratulations, but they were inwardly puzzled. Didn’t Chloe Winston have a house? These people were either national athletes, celebrities, or bigwigs. Not to mention their assets at home, each of them had no shortage of several villas in their name. As Mr. Stewart’s rumored girlfriend, didn’t Chloe even have a house? So pitiful?

"Wherever you buy a house, I’ll buy one too," Constantine Stewart, who had been silent all along, suddenly said.

"I know, it’s in the same community as my brother’s. The houses there aren’t for sale to the public, they’re reserved for senior officials and their families," Desmond Wood bragged smugly, finally adding with a mischievous smile, "No matter how much money Mr. Stewart has, he’s probably not going to get one."

Constantine Stewart let out a cold laugh. Although he wasn’t in politics, it wasn’t hard for him to get a house. But Chloe Winston in the same community as Finnian?

The man instantly felt a tightness in his chest, a discomfort overtaking him. Finnian, a government official, dared to compete with him for a woman. The Wood Family didn’t have any significant backing. Finnian had purely made it on his own in Imperial City. Even though he was Delphine Carter’s cousin, it wasn’t as if they grew up with a deep bond.

Constantine Stewart squinted his eyes, the more he thought about it, the angrier he got. He stood up, expressionless, grabbed his phone and car keys, and went out the door.

Chloe Winston simply wanted to share the joy of buying a house, but she didn’t have time for their gossip. She immediately blocked the group chat and then, holding her phone, started looking through various design showrooms. The water and electricity wiring in the small villa didn’t require her concern, but the interior decoration would need her to spend some thought on it. After all, this would be her home.

Because the entire house had wooden floors, with small gardens in the front and back, and two balconies, Chloe leaned towards a natural, plain Japanese style, avoiding too many complicated decorations, prioritizing comfort. The furniture would all be made of raw wood and cotton-linen materials.

The first-floor living room had a north-south layout, and the front and back gardens aligned perfectly. Chloe planned to partition a tea room near the back garden’s living area. A place where two or three friends could enjoy flowers, tea, and idle chat. When she didn’t need to film, she could laze in the tea room, basking in the sun.

Chloe noted down her ideas and sent them to Finnian.

Finnian quickly sent back some nice design pictures for her to choose from.

Chloe was delighted with what she saw, thinking one was beautiful and then another, and was just debating when the doorbell rang.

Chloe paused, looked at her phone, wondering who would visit her at night. Living alone, and with her growing online fame, some obsessed fans might track her down, so she grew wary. She peeked through the door viewer and saw it was the neighborhood security personnel.

The security guy pressed the doorbell while saying, "Miss, I’m the community security, here to register some transients."

Chloe opened the door, revealing her cute, delicate face, and said crisply, "Big brother, why are you working so late?"

The security guy awkwardly scratched his head. Seeing she opened the door, he stepped aside and spoke to the elegant, handsome, tall man behind him, "It’s not easy for you as a couple, give in to your girl. If you get kicked out again, I won’t help."

As he righteous spoke, the security guy was inwardly trembling. The man’s aura was intense, making his legs weak.

"Thank you, I’ll make sure I don’t get kicked out again," Constantine said in a low voice, curling his lips slightly. Seeing Chloe’s face change and as she was about to close the door, he swiftly extended his leg, blocking the door. His strong hand held the half-open security door, squinting, speaking deeply, "Be good, stop messing around."

"What are you doing here?" Chloe said coldly, about to call security, but the security personnel had already trotted away, making her chest tighten with anger.

What kind of security is this, hmm?

With his purpose achieved, Constantine stepped inside and closed the door. Looking down at the girl in her home wear, her gray cat-patterned cotton dress, her delicate face so clean you could see the fine fuzz, she looked fluffy like a little kitten waiting for its owner to caress.

Mr. Stewart reached out, his warm large hand stroked the girl’s fluffy little head, his voice slightly husky, somewhat deep, "Have you had dinner?"

Chloe was a bit disoriented, so Constantine drove all the way from Fulham Road, even deceiving the community security to trick her into opening the door, just to ask if she had eaten?

"Did you block me on WeChat?" The feel was too good; Constantine was reluctant to let go but knew better not to overdo it. He petted her soft hair, retracting his hand before she got angry, demanding, "Hand over your phone."

The commanding tone.

The spacious apartment was filled with a low-pressure, ambiguous atmosphere. Constantine stood with arms crossed, gazing at her with an elegant posture. His long legs blocked the door, and under the white shirt were solid muscles, poised and ready.
