Chapter 1396 - 1392: Our Relationship Has Been Exposed
Constantine Stewart’s sudden approach made Chloe Winston feel like her breath was constricted, the spot on her forehead that he touched felt like it was burning.
Chloe’s big, dark eyes darted around, she quietly took a step back, getting closer to the door, and then her phone vibrated.
She unlocked her phone with her fingerprint and realized she had been so busy in the exhibit hall earlier that she hadn’t checked her phone. Calls, WeChat messages, all sorts of notifications were practically bursting.
The latest message on WeChat was from Charles Taylor: "Don’t leave through the front door, I’m waiting at the back entrance of the venue."
Chloe: "???"
Kyla Zamora had also called several times; unable to reach her, she had bombarded Chloe on WeChat.
"Chloe, did you run off to volunteer? Don’t you know you’re a public figure? Do you know how high your appearance fee is per day?"
"Are you at Leah Squire’s venue? Mm, do your volunteer work well."
"Whoa, traffic outside is blocked, don’t you dare come out..."
"I couldn’t get in without an appointment???"
Kyla Zamora kept rambling on, sending dozens of messages.
Chloe was dumbfounded seeing them, and didn’t have time to look through other messages; she raised her eyes to look at the suave, graceful, extremely dangerous, and slightly aggressive man, swallowed her saliva, and said, "What’s going on? Am I being slammed across the internet again?"
Although she had a dream of being an actress, it was just a dream. Chloe never imagined that one day her fans would go so crazy they’d cause a traffic jam.
Seeing her bewildered expression, Constantine Stewart couldn’t help but smile. So, she really doesn’t know how popular she is?
"Yeah, our romance has been exposed now, and the whole country is surrounding us." Constantine Stewart spoke seriously and nonsensically, his slender, fair fingertips feeling somewhat restless, thinking her face is so fair and tender, it would surely feel great to pinch.
Chloe shivered and stammered, "Am I, your ex-wife’s, stuff, exposed?"
Seeing her small face turn pale, her big eyes turning misty with fright, Constantine Stewart narrowed his eyes in displeasure—was the ex-wife thing really that terrifying?
"It’s serious, I’ll take you out." The man stepped forward to grab her hand.
Chloe instinctively dodged—that’s ridiculous. Right now, she is wishing she didn’t know him.
"Mr. Taylor, Chloe is in the lounge." Melody Lincoln’s voice came through.
The door of the lounge wasn’t tightly closed; Chloe quickly opened it and saw Charles Taylor wearing a mask, appearing at the door under the protection of his manager.
The two men exchanged a glance from a distance, creating a somewhat awkward atmosphere.
"Mr. Taylor, why are you here?" Chloe was dumbfounded again; traffic outside was already blocked, and Charles Taylor’s appearance only made the scene unimaginable.
Charles Taylor noticed her white T-shirt, pleated skirt, exposing her stunningly fair long legs, she exuded an aura of sweet youthfulness all over, and he couldn’t help but smile and said gently, "Your fans are too crazy; I’m worried something might happen to you, so I’m here to pick you up after work."
So now everyone knows she’s here?
Chloe widened her eyes to look at Melody Lincoln.
Melody Lincoln smiled and said, "Madam originally planned to come over, but traffic is blocked here, so I’m arranged to escort Ms. Winston out, but now I guess I don’t have to arrange it anymore."
Melody Lincoln looked at the famous Mr. Stewart in Imperial City and the national film emperor Charles Taylor, thinking she might as well act as a fixture at this moment.
"Come with me, or him, huh?" Constantine Stewart asked impatiently. Since Dimitri Taylor appeared, his gaze had been intensely deep, carrying a hint of coldness.
"Mr. Stewart’s status is too noble, if caught in photos, rumors will fly everywhere, which might not be good for Chloe." Charles Taylor said, smiling faintly.
"Doesn’t the national film emperor think talking like this is funny? Perhaps your appearance caused the traffic jam, inconveniencing Chloe." Constantine Stewart sneered.
Amidst the duel of sharp tongues between these two men, a gentle voice with a smile sounded: "Since neither of you seem suitable, how about I escort Chloe away?"
Finnian, the incredibly affable senior official from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, walked over accompanied by his assistant, smiling. This time, the man did not bring his black umbrella but struck a gentlemanly, elegant pose, perfectly attired, looking at Chloe with a smile: "I happened to be nearby attending a meeting, Desmond Wood asked me to safely take you home."
"Mr. Finnian." Chloe’s eyes lit up, she originally thought Finnian was the type who seems refined but is morally corrupt, but upon more interaction she found this person to be thoughtful, extremely logical, calm in dealing with people, a very wise man.
Due to Constantine Stewart, Chloe had some aversion to men in her bones, thinking the better looking a man is, the more he tends to be a wolf in sheep’s clothing in private, but Finnian totally overturned her twisted view of handsome men.
"Just call me Finnian, you’re a dear friend of Desmond, like my sister." Finnian glanced at the two men whose faces were flushed with anger and, smilingly, defined his relationship with Chloe as sibling-like. This young woman carries a scent as fresh as sunshine, making one irresistibly drawn to her.
Constantine Stewart’s face was cold to begin with, and now seeing that he couldn’t get rid of one person before another appeared, his usual lazy, refined smile was barely holding up.
Miss Winston, how many bees and butterflies she can attract, huh? Sister? What a joke, calling her sister and flirting at the same time?
Mr. Stewart’s sense of crisis surged within, competing for a woman, were these two people asking for trouble?
"Mr. Finnian, as a senior official from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, is it considered using official power for private purposes to escort a so-called sister?" Constantine Stewart sneered.
Finnian’s smile became increasingly affable, and he said, "As entrusted, faithfully fulfilling. Mr. Stewart and Mr. Taylor, both participating in the same show as Chloe, it’s better not to appear together to avoid stirring up rumors."
"My car is right outside, follow me; you don’t need to sneak out, you can greet your fans before you leave. I don’t think the media would dare fabricate scandals about the Ministry of Foreign Affairs." The latter words were directed to Chloe.
Powerful authority intimidates others. No news media would dare write recklessly even with ten times the courage. At most, they would write about Chloe having a good relationship with a high-ranking official from the Ministry, this sort of golden reputation opportunity others couldn’t ask for.
Chloe’s eyes lit up, she actually disliked sneaking around, Finnian’s words were exactly what she wished to hear. Walking with Constantine Stewart was out of the question; this man exudes bad vibes all over, being in the same room as him made her uncomfortable, while Charles Taylor was too popular, walking together would stir up a storm in the Entertainment Sector.
"Wouldn’t it cause trouble for Mr. Finnian?" Chloe instinctively moved a step closer to Finnian.
"No trouble, it’s my honor." Finnian smiled, made a gesture of invitation.
Chloe and Charles Taylor blinked at each other, then happily followed Finnian out, not glancing at Constantine Stewart throughout.
Constantine Stewart watched the young lady scamper off with another man, a flash of anger crossed his handsome face, his gaze deep as ink.
